Why Does Internet Access Keep Kicking Off
Jul 21, 2011
We run several computers off a wireless system. One of the computers is forever having problems with the internet severing it's connection. None of the others have this problem. Is there something in the wireless settings that needs adjustment on this notebook?

I had the Linksys 3200 for almost a year and its been running great with my laptop. But now my laptop that connects to it by WIFI is getting these hiccups(what I call them), where it connects fine for a hour or 2. Then all of a sudden the WIFI icon on the laptop will say "limited internet access" and then no connection to the Linksys 3200. But other devices such as 2 smart phones, IPOD touch, Wii, and PS3 connects fine through the WIFI! Its been doing this for a few days. Thinking about doing a firmware upgrade for the E3200

I have two Cisco Aironets 1401 connected to a Cisco Catalyst 3560 Switch. When users log onto the Wifi the APs authenticate with a Freeradius that then authenticates with LDAP.
Recently users have been getting kicked off of the network but I'm not sure why.If so how do I set these APs to roam with my setupd? For all I know there could be an issue with the switch I'm just not sure where to start when it comes to troubleshooting this issue.

I have two SSIDs on an Autonomous Access Point, that goes to a 2960 switch, that connects to a L3 3560. I have a vlan for admin/private internal access that uses the native vlan (1) and guest vlan (50). I have configured both and I am trying to get both to go out the same Internet connection.
I cannot get the guest access to access the Internet. It looks like my computer will go, but it just comes up saying no Internet access. All interfaces are trunking this vlan properly. I can communicate from the laptop to the 3560 but I just can't get to the Internet.

I am trying to setup internet access and intranet access using two cards per PC. I don't have sever software and I want to be able to share files between several machines. I have two routers. One that connects to cable modem and one that connects to intranet side. I have assigned different static ip addresses to both cards.

I'm having some difficulties with the VLAN setup on the SG-200 and the WiFi access point. The access point (a TP-Link WA801N) is only able to access the internet when it is plugged into a port that is on the default VLAN (PVID 1). If I plug it into one of the other VLANs then any clients connected to the WiFi lose access to the internet and cannot access devices on the VLAN. I have previously used this setup with a first generation Cisco WAP4410N. [code]

I have 2 ISPs terminating on 2 FE ports on my 2811 router.ISP1 had always been here, used for the following:Internet access to LAN usersInternet access with public IP mapping to servers in different security zones (VLANS)Site to Site VPN tunnels to 3rd party partnersRemote VPN access to 3rd party partners We recently got a second ISP, mainly for the following:Internet access and public IP mapping to servers on seperate security zones (VLANS)Site to Site VPN tunnels to 3rd party partners as above, but different hosts So far, ISP1 and all the above service have worked based on the config below. However, having added ISP2, I have not been able to successfully create the site-to-site VPN tunnels.

Whenver I try to establish a tunnel on SDM_CMAP_2 and run a test using CCP, I get 2 failure reasons:
1. The peer must be routed through the crypto map interface. The following peer(s) are routed through non-crypto map interface - 4.58.130.130
2. The tunnel traffic destination must be routed through the crypto map interface. The following destinations are routed through non-crypto map interface - 4.58.130.134
The tunnels on SDM_CMAP_1 are all active Do I need to include a default route for the second ISP on the router? If so, how do I get this done? When I tried it, I had loops on the user LAN segment of the network.

I've been following those instructions to set a dir-615 as a wifi access point connected to a switch : [URL]. I am now able to connect to the 615 either by wifi or by typing it's ip address with another computer connected to the LAN. Connecting to the 615 by wifi, i can do a ping request to urls or receive and send mail with my e-mail client but i can't access websites using my browser.s it possible to get it working without installing some kind of modified firmware? I tried plugging the Internet ethernet cable in the LAN and Internet ports of the 615, none works.

Abruptly internet access disappeared. It's a router issue, none of the computers here can connect. Further, I can't access the router through a browser - 192.168.0.1 results in a "Firefox cannot connect" message. I've tried resetting the DNS to no avail. I'm typing via cell phone and it's annoying, but I'm willing to try about anything.

Here is my setup:
Netgear WNDR3700 - Main router, DHCP turned on
4x Netgear WNR2000 - Setup as Access Points (DHCP turned off), connected to main router via LAN ports
I only want the guest network to have internet access. I have the guest network enabled on the router and access points with the option to "Allow Guest network to access main network" disabled. My problem is that since the access points aren't hooked directly to my modem via the WAN port, the guest network broadcasted from the access points does not have internet access.I have read up on setting up a separate subnet for the guest network using DD-WRT but was curious if there was a way to get the desired result with the stock Netgear firmware.

I have a laptop that I take to work, and would like to set things up to use my home internet connection from elsewhere. I don't have another computer to function as a server for me at home, so would like to do it so that my router alone provides this access (log into it from the internet anywhere and use my internet as if I am using it from home). How would I go about doing this? Would it require installing new firmware?

I have a Sony Vaio running Windows 7 Home Premium. Yesterday I accessed the Internet at the office over a Cat5 cable. Last night I accessed the Internet at home via my USB Internet dongle (actually an O2 mobile phone). Today neither works. I have also tried to connect to the Internet via Wireless and that does not work either.Needless to say my desktop (using the same Cat5 cable) works. My mobile phone can access the Internet on it own. And others can get the wireless to work.My Vaio can connect to all three; however, all three say "No Internet access".I changed nothing between last night and this morning. I have scanned through the list of Windows Updates and nothing has been downloaded in the past week. I have turned off my firewalls (in both McAfee and Symantec Endpoint Protection). I have run the three NETSH reset commands with Administrator privileges. I have rebooted my machine numerous times. Nothing works.

one computer I can add the internet but other computers can not. I've tried different methods, but it can not.I think that one computer is connected to the internet and one cable does not allow to add other computers. I am the gate with ip address, which would be 111.111.111.111 to join a single computer, while the other does not pass its IP address, but running with different ip address like 111.111.111.112I don't know how to connect 2 computers with one ip.

I have a computer on my network that can't connect to the internet even though it has a valid IP address and can access / be accessed by other machines on the network (I use it as my file server and also remote in using TeamViewer LAN mode). The router wouldn't seem to be a problem because the other machines on the network that are connected to the same router in the same way access the internet fine. The only difference is that they are Win 7 HP and this one is Win XP Pro. I know there could be some funky setting on the router, but it would have to be placed there intentionally and I have never done anything with those settings.I ran a full virus scan today (using manually downloaded definition updates) and also tried removing and reinstalling the ethernet connection, turning off the firewall, repairing the ethernet connection, and rerunning the network setup wizard (including a number of restarts).

how to conntect an old PC to a wireless broadband home network. I had set up wireless broadband at home on a laptop. Next I added a second laptop to the network just by entering the password that I had used when first setting up the wireless service. This PC does not have a wireless adapter nor ethernet ports.if addition of a wireless adapter card into a vacant motherboard PCI slot would be sufficient to extend internet access to this PC.
