I have to do ipconfig /flushdns from my Laptop to access my PC, on my local network, for some reason when the Laptop is booted up.After that all works like it should. I made a batch file to do that command during Windows start up. Is there any reason why I have to do this or is it just something quirky with Windows? Both computers have Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Both use the same DNS servers.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have not been able to get onto the internet in about 2 days now. I know my modem (2wire) is working correctly, I spent 2 hours checking it thoroughly with my internet provider. I have checked various websites and have flushed my DNS, brought back my computer to it's original manufactured settings, I even deleted and re-installed the network device but still I am only able to access my local network. I'm wondering if there are any other suggestions for fixing my computer
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have been encountering a can't find server (not page not found error 404) message in two ways. Either using a hyperlink to open a new web page or returning to a tab will yield this error. Refreshing the page will render the page properly. The two cures I have found that look to be the most promising are to run ipconfig /flushdns from the command prompt and to clear the prefetch cache.

Basically I want to flush all devices from all the different LMS modules. If I delete all devices from Device Management they seem to stay in Topology Services / Device Discovery / Data Collection etc.. They keeps the old device in their own database.
Is there a way of flushing all devices from all these different modules. I'm going to re-import them with a clean CSV import file.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI know this question seems to come out a lot but I can't seem to fix it. I am a college student and my internet has worked 100% fine until I went home this weekend and came back. It worked this weekend when I brought my computer home and when I came back today it gives me this error when I try to troubleshoot. The only thing that could have changed is when I went home I set my DNS to be openDNS because it makes a huge difference there, but I changed it back when I got here. I don't know if that would matter, but unplugging and restarting are doing nothing.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using an ethernet cord to connect to my internet and it has been working well until Thursday morning when I turned on my laptop (Windows 8) to see a yellow triangle sign in the bottom right hand corner, in front of the ethernet connected symbol. Since then I haven't been able been able to access the internet from my computer. When I hover over it, it says that it is an "Unidentified network" and there is "No internet access". I've run the Windows 8 troubleshooting and it says that the problem found was ""Ethernet" doesn't have a valid IP configuration", but I'm unsure how to fix it.
I'm thinking that the problem is to do with my computer rather than my network, because I've tried another laptop (Windows 7) through the same ethernet cable and connection and the internet works fine on the other laptop. I've tried so many fixes that I've found online, with none of them actually working. Yesterday I even tried a full system reset, where I reinstalled Windows 8, repartitioned and wiped everything off the hard drive, but it still appears have the exact same problem.
Today I also purchased and tried a new ethernet cable which didn't work, so I then purchased a USB to Ethernet adapter, to make sure that it wasn't my ethernet port on my laptop that was faulty. That didn't work either, and the same problem still remains.
I can't seem to get the browser to properly show spacing. So I was browsing the internet normally, then all of the sudden, I'm disconnected. When I reconnected, I was able to access the network, but unable to connect to the internet. After attempting to diagnose the issue, I got the "There may be a problem with your Domain Name Server Configuration."can't connect to well known host microsoft.com.

So I built a PC recently, using Powerline for Internet access. At first the PC wouldn't connect to the Internet so I moved the wireless router and the Powerline plug into another room and plugged them directly into the wall socket (previously they were plugged into an extension lead). I got Internet access on my PC, but 2 laptops and another PC were having trouble connecting to the Internet using Wi-FiWhen I moved the router and Powerline plug back to their original place, my PC wouldn't connect again (all other computers could) and I got the "Local Area Connection doesn't have a valid IP configuration" error from the network troubleshooting tool.So it's either I'm the only one that does get Internet when I move the router, or I'm the only one that doesn't get Internet when the router's in its normal place.[CODE]

View 4 Replies View RelatedWe have a pair of ACS 4.1 servers (Windows Server 2003 R2). Let's call them ACS1 and ACS2. We don't want either one of them to proxy to any AAA server, including each other. We're using mostly TACACS authentication.
While troubleshooting a general problem, I'm guessing that one of us did this on ACS1:
pressed the Network Configuration button, saw the Proxy Distribution Tableclicked (Default)moved ACS1 from the AAA Servers column to the Forward To column.
So, essentially, we're telling ACS1 to proxy all requests to itself, which doesn't seem to make sense. I don't know for sure whether it should work when configured to "self proxy," but in that state, it does not authenticate anyone and gives merely "Internal error" as the reason.
If I change the configuration so that "ACS2" appears in the Forward To column, and I move "ACS1" back to AAA Servers and restart, ACS1 starts responding correctly to TACACS requests. Of course, ACS1 is just proxying all requests to ACS2, so having two servers isn't doing much good.
I cannot simply remove ACS1 from the Forward To column and leave it empty. The interface complains that it can't forward to zero servers. Of course, on ACS2, there are no servers in the Forward To column, since we never touched the Proxy Distribution Table there.
Is there any way to return the Proxy Distribution Table to its default setup, that is, no servers appear in the "Forward To" column?
We're planning to upgrade to version 4.2 very soon, so this question is mostly academic, unless the same problem exists in 4.2.
For full disclosure, I should mention that the problem we were troubleshooting was loss of connectivity to our Windows Domain Controllers from our ACS servers. We had missed adding some exceptions in our firewalls to allow for four new DCs. As far as we can tell from testing, connectivity to the DCs is now fine. The firewall rules group ACS1 and ACS2 together, so connectivity should be the same, and ACS2 authenticates users correctly.
I am actually working in configuring a wireless controller 2504 integrated a windows 2008 server as radius server for authenticating the network users registered in a windows active directory database. The Radius server is a Windows 2008 Server with the rol of Network Policy Server.
I have been following a pair of documents in Internet, but it doesn't work yet.
Which authentication method should i use?...the Windows 2008 NPS doesn't work wtih LEAP, should i use PEAP or there is an another recomendation to authenticate the windows active directory users?
configuration tested working between a cisco wireless controller and Windows 2008 NPS as Radius Server for authenticating the windows network users.
I have a problem with a direct crossover Ethernet connection between two computers. One is a Win XP laptop, the other a Win 7 64 bit desktop. I have a USB adapter on the desktop and the laptop used that to share internet with the desktop. This setup worked fine until today. There have been no network hardware changes nor software changes but the desktop's power supply recently failed and had to be replaced. After that was done I tried today to plug the adapter and cord back in and use the connection but it will not work. The connection from the modem to the desktop works fine but the connection from desktop to laptop will not detect internet access, says "Local area connection doesn't have a valid IP configuration" and has limited connectivity. Other than a new power supply absolutely nothing has been changed.

I have webcams that need port 8081 opened and I did that, everything worked fine until my DIR655 jammed up and power cycling it and the modem 3-4 times DID not make it work: no internet access and it was definitely a DIR655 problem. So, out with the paperclip to do the big reset, causing me to lose my configuration. When "most" of it came back up with my new config (I had screen prints), all was okay EXCEPT the webcams. Addresses and ports were all configured properly, address was fixed too on the client computer rather than use DHCP. I had a DNS relocation service running (DYNDNS) for the WAN side, but that address (My IP) didn't change either. I tried EVERYTHING. Finally, I realized in all my screwing around that I had enabled UPnP in my application, something I hadn't done before, but did this time as a desperation move. UPnP had always been checked off in the router. So.....I REMOVED my port forwarding and virtual server settings (either one worked before), and voila, everything working, Is this a normal occurrence, that if you have UPnP running, that this auto configuration overrides any manual configuration?

I have an issue with two specific Windows 7 Pro workstations that just will not logon. The username and password details we're using are correct, but the server rejects them. I can logon using the same account from any other Windows 7 Pro workstation, or Windows XP station, so I know the issue is specific to the two workstations communicating with the server.
Both afftected stations show Logon attempted by: MICROSOFT_AUTHENTICATION_PACKAGE_1_0 error 0xC000006A which all searches on Google point towards incorrect login credentials, however I've tried plenty of perfectly valid login credentials and they don't work either.I've tried checking that the 128bit option on the Windows 7 machines is disabled in file sharing etc.
I have an RV042 setup for quick vpn access. The remote computer in question is a win 7 64bit. The PC uses McAfee SAAS firewall. This disables the windows firewall.

2. I cannot connect to the vpn with both windows firewall and SAAS disabled.
3. I cannot run SAAS and windows firewall together to check if this would work.

I can then leave the windows firewall disabled and enable McAfee SAAS.The message quickvpn provides when it fails to connect is that the remote gateway is not responding.
