I want to know how to get the printer to be wireless so that my PC and my son's Mac are both able to print from the printer. I have AT&T as my wireless internet provider,I have looked through all of my manuals and can't find out how to do this

Samsung technicians have not been able to assist after multiple calls. They sent me to a printer repair store which reported they had no problem with the printer working on their wireless network. When I used the setup disk initially it would connect the printer to the network and I could print from my laptop wirelessly, but the connection never continued working more than a few hoursThe router has no problems in connecting to 3 different computers.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've recently purchases a Canon MF3010 Multifunction printer, and connected this to my EA3500 router's USB port. Used Cisco Connect to setup the printer, and the print function is working fine.
The issue is with the scan function. It appears the default functionality of the router is to only activate the connection to the printer when a print job is fired off. When this connection is active, the scan functionality works fine.
Another way to activate the connection to the printer to allow for scanning would be to go through
Cisco Connect>Computers and devices>PrinterWhile the process is running (searching for printer), the connection is active as well, and scanning works fine. When the process is closed, scanning no longer works, with an error message stating that communication to the printer cannot be established.
Is there a simpler way to keep the connection to the printer active, or some sort of configuration to automatically establish this connection for scanning?

this person doesn't have a wireless router. She has the above, just a USB stick. there is no cable or DSL modem, no router, nothing, just that LTE stick.

I am using a Mac, so that may be the problem, but I have followed the instructions on how to add the printer and it is not happening. View 3 Replies View Relatedi have a new EA6500 with latest firmware that is randomly preventing connections to a Xerox ColorQube printer.The printer is hardwired to the router. I had statically assigned the IP address (as i do with all my "permanent" devices), but tech support suggested i go to DHCP assigned with a reservation, so that is how the network configuration on the printer currently stands. I have a number of wireless laptops on the network. When the connection drops or is prevented, none of the machines can access the printer. I've turned laptop firewall and antivirus off to ensure that was not the issue. When the connection drops, i can no longer ping the device and it shows unavailable in the devices and printers console of Windows 7. However, i CAN still ping the device from the diagnostics tab of the troubleshooting page on the router. In other words, the router can ALWAYS ping the device, regardless if the laptops can. This tells me the connection between router and printer is fine. It also tells me the network interface of the printer is functioning. Something is preventing communication between laptop and printer and the ONLY thing in between the two is the router. I've also tried throttling the speed back between the two. The printer is capable of 1000base-t full duplex, which is where it normally runs, but i stepped this down to 100base-t full duplex just to see if it made a difference. I've also tried turning IPv6 on/off to see if it made a difference.

When I connect my old ASMAX $30 router, I get 78 Mbit/sek. And I find it OK.But when I connect my EA6500 I get 28 MBits/sec. Same result on wire as on wireless connection. Of course If I enable prioritisation, I get even less, 12-15 Mbits/sec.I tried already even configuration with ASMAX as wired router and EA6500 connected to its LAN port. It gives me 50Mbits/sec.

One has an Lexmark printer wired to their router and running Windows Vista on a laptop. The other has an HP printer connected to the network wirelessly and the laptop is running Windows 7.
In both cases, they are setup to use DHCP. When first setup and the printer software was installed, everything worked fine. Now they each get a message showing 'offline' when they try to print. I went to each of their houses, downloaded and installed the latest printer software and they were printing again. After a short time, the same problem surfaces.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Inspiron 1720 (running Vista Home Premium) that connects to my Linksys E2000 and to a wireless printer, the Canon MX870. It's been working for months without problems.
I just got a Toshiba Satellite P770-BT4G22 Laptop (running Window 7 Professional 64 bit) and installed the Cisco Connect software following the instructions where you have already set up the router and just need to install the software to do things like add a device. I can connect to the router fine using a web browser or the Cisco Connect Software and my Toshiba connects to the Internet through the router without problems.
The problem is Cisco Connect says it can't find a wireless printer when I run it on my new Toshiba. I've put the printer within 3 feet of the router with my Toshiba in between but still it can't find it. My Dell in another room connects to the printer no problem. And I can print to the Canon if I select the Shared Canon Printer ( on the Dell) using the Toshiba's Control Panel Add Printer function. But obviously that means the Dell has to be on so that's not good for much more than troubleshooting. I've also wired a connection from the printer to the Toshiba and downloaded the latest driver, printed that way so I know that's not the problem. The problem is that Cisco Connect can't find the printer. It says there are 6 devices attached to my router so it's seeing something, but I guess not the printer. I've turned any firewalls off for this testing too.
I'm stumped as to why it can't find the printer when the Dell did and they are all on the same network. Unless it's not compatible with 64 bit Windows.
I have a E4200 router and I was using it with a 1st generation MacBook Air for internet and also had my Samsung laser printer hooked up (USB) for wireless printing. It worked perfectly. Now I have upgraded to a new MacBook Air. The internet connection works fine, but printing won't work. Same printer. Same connections.

I am able to print and communicate with the printer (via the built-in web interface) for the first few hours after the printer is powered on. After a day or so, however, (when the printer has gone into sleep/power-save mode) I can no longer print or attach to it - it is seen as being offline. The only way around this is to power the printer off and on again.I never had this problem with the E3000 or the (non-Cisco) router before that. I do not see any settings that would cause this to happen.

But the installation software cannot find the printer to complete the installation.
