View 1 RepliesI would like to setup a 2504 to have one Guest WLAN and one Staff WLAN with a controller port for each WLAN connected to different devices.
I would prefer to connect the WLC Guest port to an ASA 5510 and the WLC Staff port to an internal 2960S switch. Will this work? I haven't setup a 2500 series controller previously.
We have a Sonicwall NSA 3500. We have a seperate interface for LAN and WLAN. The WLAN is set up on a Sonicpoint. Right now, the LAN gives out 10.10.99.x addresses, the WLAN gives out 10.10.100.x addresses. What is the best way to get these two interfaces to give out addresses on the same scheme, ie both LAN and WLAN giving out 10.10.99.x addresses?

View 1 Replies View Relatedwe have the following situation:
- 2 x WLC 5508 with about 80 - 120 access points (Aironet 3500) each
- 7 x WLAN's with different security settings
- 2 x ACS 5.3
On one WLAN we have the problem, that the students with their own laptops have to enter their AD username about 4-5 time, until they get a successfull 802.1x authentication. The WLAN has the following configuration:
- Hidden SSID
- Only 802.11b/g
- Interface assigned via AP Groups
- WPA2 / AES with 802.1x or CCKM (here I could only allow 802.1x, the clients do not need fast secure roaming)
- Authentication via ACS 5.3 and PEAP
- for more details see screenshots below
Most of the time I can't see any 802.1x authentication attemps on the ACS View, but when there are entries, they are successfull. So in my opinion I think there has to be a problem on WLC side, but I don't know where to search further. We already deactivated the client load balancing in the WLAN, because at the beginning the customer wanted to activate that - but it was clear that there are a lot of clients which had to authenticate multiple times.I know there were some bugs in the 7.0 train, so I upgraded finaly to 7.0.235.0 to overcome this bug here: CSCty07036.To fix the other bug (CSCtt70290) I just disabled all the session timeouts on the different WLAN's.
I'm new to wireless and I have 7 Cisco 1142N (AIR-LAP1142N-A-K9) APs. But The thing is I have to buy a WLAN controller for these APs. I checked on internet and I found the 2500 series Controllers are compatible with Cisco 1142N (AIR-LAP1142N-A-K9) APs. But I would like to know How can I find the exact supporting version of controller for Cisco Access points?

Is it possible to do that? like in a LAN making the marking as voice, signaling and any kind of application? as I marked in all the LAN.

What would be the ramnifactions of using AIR-1242AG-A-K9 (g radios only: no b clients) and AIR-LAP1231G-AK9 (g radios: only no b clients) with AIR- ANT1728 (non diversity antennas) on the WLAN. Some of the APs 1242/ 1231 will be with in line of site of each other.
View 1 Replies View Related I have a Dell Studio XPS 16 laptop. I'm very annoyed by how my wireless WLAN card won't turn on.
I've tried pressing the WLAN enable key above the keypad next to the other media keys and it won't show it as being enabled.
I've tried the Fn+F2 combination and it doesn't seem to do anything. It keeps saying that the WLAN card is still not enabled!
I've tried rebooting my laptop as well and it seems to acknowledge the existance of the card
We have a set up which includes several air-lap1134n-e-k9 access points. We're having problems with a specific laptop connecting to the WLAN which is accessible via the AP. We can see numerous different SSIDs available and when we connect to either of the two we have set up it says it is unable to connect. One of the connections, let's call it Internet, has Layer 3 security set up. The other connection, Web, has Layer 2 security set up. The laptop can connect to neither. It can, however, connect to other wifi in the vacinity including a wifi hotspot we set up on an Android phone.
The laptop has an Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1030 network adapter with current drivers. The WLAN's we've set up, Internet and Web, are both enabled for 802.11n.
This happened after I put on an ubuntu version called ICE. Now, if I load eg puppy linux the wireless adapter is invisible. I reinstalled Visa and it saw the wlan adapter but doesn't auto recognise now so I have to switch on manually. Can I put in a new adapter with 'n' capability?

The DSL light comes on (green), however, the WLAN light doesn't light up and the 'inetrnet' light stays on red. My laptop is saying cannot detect network, but is detecting other wireless networks in area (so not laptop prob). Did all the unplugging, turning everything off and even pressing the reset button on the back of the router but its still not working. Tried plugging in a USB cable directly from router to laptop and 'internet' light flashed green for 1 second then went back to red and still not working.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo earlier today I purchased a new video card, a PNY Nvidia Gtx 560. After installing the drivers through the disc, I ended up getting he BSOD, and my PC just kept on restarting automatically. I fixed that problem, and found out that I should install the drivers for it through their website instead. So, after restarting my PC yet again, I tried using the Internet (Chrome) and found out that I have no Internet connection. Now, I am writing this on my iPad using the same router and modem that my PC is supposed to be using, but I keep on checking my WLAN adapter and it says that it is Not Connected. Now I have tried every forum, every post, EVERYTHING related to this problem and not a single thing fixes it. Also, when I do the ipconfig, everything says Media Disconnected and that's it. PS, I tried unplugging/plugging back in my modem and router PPS, Is it possible that when installing my new gcard and psu that I may have messed up with something internally?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI accidentally pressed the front panel button labeled "Cisco Systems" on my WRT54GL wireless router. The button turned to a flashing white which I understand means that it entered SecureEasySetup mode. I then power cycled the router and the front panel button turned back to solid orange. However, now the "WLAN" lamp flashes a lot more often than before even when there are no wireless clients connected. It doesn't seem to be affecting connectivity or performance of my Ethernet connected devices or wireless connected devices. I re-entered my SSID and security key. That didn't curtail the increased flashing of the WLAN lamp. I also tried pressing the front panel button for 5 seconds. This only cleared my wireless settings.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI currently have WLC 5508 and a few campuses with LAP 1142, each with 2-3 vlan. Now one of our campuses have a building thas is a bit far away and needs network (wired). We can't get fiber or TP-cable there in a good way. So the plan is to get two 1262 or 3500 with AIR-ANT5160NP-R antennas and get a wireless link working between the campus and the building. And then connect one of the AP's to a switch in the other building to provide it with wired network.
The problem is that I can't find information on how to do it. Should both APs be in autonomus mode? I probably only need to have 1 VLAN in the other building but I am not sure yet. Is there a problem with transfering several VLAN over the WLAN-link?

Can a WAP4410N be used as a repeater on an existing WPA2 + EAP-TLS WLAN? The existing WLAN is on a Cisco 871W router; we hope to use a WAP4410N as a repeater to extend it.
I've not had much luck so far with the "repeater" and "WDS repeater" AP modes on the 4410. I'm either configuring it wrong, or perhaps the 871W needs a config tweak? Or perhaps the 871's wireless can't be repeated like this?
Our company has 8 4404-100 Cisco wireless controllers and each WLC has 8 W LANs configured. They are all working fine. However, the WLAN ID sequence is not consistent. I'm wondering if it's possible to change the WLAN ID on these WLCs without (or slightly) impacting the users. I don't want to re-configure all the WLAN profiles.

what seems to be a common issue/query regarding getting AppleTV to work via the Wireless Lan Controller. We are running WCS 7.0.172.0, our WISM controllers are on software version 7.0.116.0 and our APs are a mixture of 1140 and 1142s with both 11a/n and 11b/g enabled.
What we are finding is that we are able to stream to the AppleTV box when connected to the LAN and both devices are on the same subnet.however, as soon as we go onto the WLAN ( both devices on the same subnet ) , the end device can no longer see the AppleTV box to stream too.
