I bought a smartphone a couple of months ago, it connects to the web with 3G with no problems. However I can't get it to connect with my modem. I have ticked the phone settings to look for available WiFi and it picks up the name of my modem but says it's disabled, secured with WPA/WPA2 PSK. The phone can't connect to my modem

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a briteport 8012v1 modem and a linksys WRT54g router. I reset the router because I didn't have the password to get in and haven't been able to get the connection back since. When I'm connected directly to the modem, I'm sending but not receiving packets. I'm unable to ping the modem ip, or yahoo.com. I've tried manually configuring and using DHCP. I also cannot access the modem's configuration page. (After i initially reset the router, when I tried to access the router's configuration page and was directed to the modem configuration page). When I'm plugged in to the router, I am able to get to the router config page - but still no internet connection. The modem does not have a hard reset (the reset button only resets the login name/password). I've spoken with two people at my ISP who told me different things - one that I couldn't use PPPoe and one told me I should be using it. When I spoke with them this afternoon, I was told that he tried to ping my connection and he could not. They're going to have someone call me sometime tomorrow, but this is the internet connection in a busy office and we need to be up and running when business starts tomorrow.

Recently I got a Beetel 450BX1 ADSL2 + Router and want to use the wireless capability of the laptop so that I don't have to be glued to my table. The OS I'm using is Windows 7 Ultimate (32 bit) on an HP Compaq 6515b.I configured the modem by following the instructions in the following link url...I believe that's a straightforward method for configuring a router, and that accomplishing this is very simple.I followed the steps, only changed the username and password to that given by BSNL.Then, finally I unplugged the LAN cable and clicked on Connect to <connection name>, punched in the serial key. But it does not connect and says "Windows was unable to connect". Even after using Windows Network Troubleshooter the problem is not solved.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys WRT54GS, version 6 with Mac OS X (version 10.6.8) hooked up to a Scientific Atlantic cable modem, with RCN as the ISP.
Recently, RCN had some network issues, and so I had to power down and reset my modem. The modem is working fine now -- no problems at all when the Mac is connected direclty to the modem.
The router's network is OK in that I can connect the Mac wirelessly to the network, but I can't connect to the internet through the router (through neither the wireless or wired connection).
I have downloaded the latest firmware update for the router, following the Linksys site instructions.
I did call Linksys tech support on the advice of RCN, and they said that the router does appear to be working (power, WLAN, and Internet lights are on), but they would be charging me nearly the cost of a new router to fix the problem.
I have a new Linksys E2100 that was working well with an old Verizon modem. Then recently that modem gave up the ghost and I was issued another one (Westel Model 6100G). I have no problems with internet connectivity when connecting directly from my harddrive to the Verizon modem. I am also not having trouble connecting to the Linksys routher as I am able to see my wireless connection with no problem. However, when I try to set up the connnection with the E2100 in the loop (yes, it's connected correctly) I no longer have internet access.I tried de-installing and re-installing the Linksys software (thinking maybe there was some new configuration that would be auto-detected with a new set-up), but this didn't work. I suspect that if the problem is with my Linksys router and not with my Verizon modem that there might be something that could be done to reconfigure something manually but I do not know enough about connections and wireless systems to trust myself not to mess something up.

I am at my wits end.Comcast just changed my old RCA cable modem for an Arris Telephony modem.(I had Comcast phone service added)The tech that did the install said the wireless G network was all up and running. (My 3 other computers and printer) Well lo and behold the network does not work at all. I only get internet through my wired computer and cannot access my router through 192.168.1.1 anymore.I tried powering down the router and modem by holding the reset for 30 seconds and unplugging them.

Resetting netgear router brings us back online but only for a few minutes. Have replaced power supply to router and it is still occurring.We have a desktop and 2 laptops online. I sometimes have days where I can't use the internet at all because it won't connect. I had a friend look at it and they said it could be faulty wiring for my cables. Is that possible? It has been working fine for the past 5 years but today the connection to my netbook computer kept dropping out.I can fix it temporarily by going into Network Connections, right clicking the modem, selecting wireless networks, clicking the modem, going to properties and retyping the network password. I then have to set the firewal to advanced connection settings and typing in my family network password, and changing the Windows firewall settings from On to Off.However, the connection drops out again after just a few minutes. If I then turn the firewall back on, it comes back on again for 5 minutes, but then drops out again. Then I have to repeat the whole process.

I have released and renewed ipconfig. I have reset both my cable modem and my wireless router. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the wireless drivers and made sure they were up to date. None of these things worked.Here is the story. My laptop will not connect to the internet even though it says it is connected and shows the SSID when you hover over the wireless on the bottom. I have an iPad, iPhone, and another laptop connected to this wireless connection. The laptop that does not connect (the one i am having problems with) did connect to another wireless network this past weekend in another house so it is not the card in the laptop. View 2 Replies View RelatedI used the CD to set up my new EA3500 with my Wild Blue Satellite internet modem.An IPhone or IPad can connect and work like a charm, remaining rock solid at all times. Windows 7 on the other hand, will work and then lose connection to the internet. The PC appears to remain connected to the EA3500, but the connection between the EA3500 and modem appear to be lost. I can click on the bar Icon at the bottom and it shows everything to be fine. I click on disconnect and then wait a few seconds and click on connect again and it works for a few minutes before having to do it again. When I look at the router properties the CD set it up for DHCP.

I'm having an issue with the connectivity of my wireless internet. Downstairs, everything is peachy. Upstairs, which is no more than 100 feet from the router, the connectivity is non-existent. That is - the laptop still registers full signal strength, and identifies my computer as connected - but the browser constantly loads, google talk is always trying sign in, and my dropbox continues to try and find a connection.The page never actually loads, but it also never tells me there is no connection. It's like the date has slowed so much that it is not actually being sent.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI don't think it's my PC, because I tried using the Ethernet cord on my laptop, and got the same error "limited or no connectivity..." When I try to troubleshoot on my PC, it says the modem is fine. All the lights are green on the modem. I did notice that I have an IP address, but no Gateway Address. Also, I'm sending few packets, but receiving even fewer.Is it safe to say that this is a modem issue? Or something else? Is there anything that can be done? -resetting the modem did not work.

My connection speed is 30 gb up and 5 GB down.Until now I used a Linksys WRT54GV ver. 2 router to share my connection between my computers and NAS server and it worked ok. In speed tests I normally get approx 25 - 28 GB speed. To optain more speed on my LAN I want to buy a GB router. And here started my problems. First I tried a D-link DIR655, then a Netgear WNDR3700 and latest a Linksys E3000. I all 3 occations my WAN speed droped drasticaly down to between 3 - 5 GB speed, at under a ping test I have a loss of between 10 - 30 % and time on approx 50 ms.If I connect my PC directly to the modem or re-connect my old router it works perfect. I have tried to replace cables etc. etc.

Already tried some configuration, with dhcp enabled and disabled, tried to assign a static ip to the router and tried to put the modem in bridge mode, but fail miserably .Now I've resetted both devices, if I connect with the ethernet cable my pc and one of the four lan connectors on the router, and then use another ethernet cable to connect the modem port with one of the other three free router port, I can connect to internet. Any other configuration i tried has not worked.
