I am using a E2000 connected to a DSL modem via the internet port. My modem is able to connect at gigabit speed but it doesn't seem to be the case with the E2000. All other ports are running at gigabit speed without problem. Is there any parameter that can be modified or is it a router limit?
View 2 RepliesI just received a new modem from my ISP acanac, the modem model is NetVito5300.When I connect the modem directly to my computer, I can access the internet, but if I connect through my wireless router, there's no wireless internet access. Wireless router model is CISCO Linksys E2000.I tried to download Cisco Connect Setup Software for PC and followed the step until one point it asked for my wireless username and password and I put them in correctly but it said my router was not successfully set up and failed. I should press the reset button and set the router to factory default mode, but I'm afraid I won't be able to set it up properly after doing so.What should I do to connect my new modem and wireless router properly so I have wireless internet access?
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo my family has an E2000 setup near the modem in a room that litterally is a DEADZONE, signal bearly gets in or out of this room. I've argued until I was blue in the face that we ned to rewire the internets inlet to the house in to another room that isn't a deadzone and rune a router from there.They IT disadvantaged refused. We have also an E2500 they say hook it up, maybe it will work better (when your in a concrete and mettal room with a router sitting on a shelf surrounded by book and with a corless phone system hooks up and sitting on top of it... its jsut not going to work. is there a way i can take the E2500 and make it an access point for the E2000?
I figure if I can I would take the E2500 and put int in a better location and jsut have it relay the E2000 internet. Because of the IT limited thought process of most of the people living here I'd prefer that they share the same SSID or atleast make for a simple transition for the apes I live with.
I bought an E2000 router with modem Dlink DSL-320B in PPPoA mode. I have already spent much time for to configure the router with-out any positive feedback . I've selected Automatic configuration with dhcp , static ip 192.168.1.2 and dhcp and modem with 192.168.0.1 and dhcp . If i view the status windows (internet connection) in router i see the right address for gateway and internet Ip , but is not allow to navigate by other PC linked with internal switch of E2000. Do you Know some particluar set-up for PPPoA mode ?
View 5 Replies View RelatedUsing a Linksys E2000 and Linksys WRT54GL (both flashed to most recent firmware), I am trying to set up Network "A" and Network "B" on one modem. I do not want either A or B to be able to see each other for security purposes. Both are secured networks for the wireless connections and have different SSIDs.
After online research, and the inability to find my exact question answered, this is what I did and I'd like to know if I'm missing anything to keep A and B completely separate. Or, if I've done anything that will cause any problems on my network. [code]
I disabled the ability to change settings using wireless connection on both routers.
I recently switched from dsl to cable. I have a e2000 router that I would still like to use. The modem I have is a Motorola Surfboard SB6121. It has no options that I can modify. The modem has a built in DHCP server. However, I can't modify it and I don't like the ip configuration it uses. For the time being I have the modem connected to a switch which is working fine. What I would like to know is how to configure the e2000 to use the modems connection. I used PPPoE for DSL and had login information.

However, when I downoaded the software to set it up again, it said it was not compatable with my Mac OS (X Lion 10.7.4). I am sure there is a way to manually set it up via an ethernet connection, but I am at a loss as to how to do that. The wireless router is working just fine, I am able to connect to the internet wirelessly and there's nothing wrong with my internet service, however the wireless router is not secured.I have my Mac connected to the wireles router via an ethernet cord.

After 10 minutes, I have always the connection with my router but no internet. To Avoid this problem, i restart the router with switch and after, no problem. Do you have any ideas to avoid this lost connection after 10 minutes when I switch on my router.

We also connect to the e2000 wirelessly.Problems started yesterday with no internet. Last night I rebooted everything and still nothing works. Connected laptop to cable modem directly. Wasn't getting internet connectivity so I called Comcast. They reset my modem and everything started working fine. Now I can directly connect from cable modem to laptop and internet works fine. I try connecting the modem to the router and still no internet.

I didn't buy the router) I use a PC with windows xp with sp 2 and 3 installed.Problem: I can use the internet just fine when I am connected to the router, my pc is connected directly to the router via cat 5 but when I directly connect to the modem I get limited to no connectivity. I'm not using a proxy server and before the router was set up(I live with roommates who set up the wireless network.) I could connect to the modem just fine. I can't repair the connection since it seems to be unable to renew the ip address. View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently downloaded Deluge and while I can download torrents without a problem, I always have the "NO INCOMING CONNECTIONS' warning. I've tried single port forwarding, port range forwarding, turning UPnP off and on ... in short I've tried a lot of stuff and the only thing that clears the message is to remove the router out of the equation. The message disappears as soon as I connect the pc directly to the modem.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy connection to Davis Instruments' WeatherLink had been working for many weeks, when my old WRT54G quite renewing DHCP leases. I've replaced it with a new E2000. All seems well. The Wifi network is working and my server resources to the outside are working. But the blasted WeatherLink software complains that it can't connect to to the interface box. This is a wired connection. The software finds the MAC address of the interface box and the assigned IP address, but "testing" the connection fails. I can ping the IP address of the interface box. The Davis people insist this is an issue with the router. The WeatherLink software uses a weird port: 22222 I didn't know there were ports with 5 digits. I've tried port forwarding this to the IP of the computer, but nothing changes. I think if I can ping the IP of the interface from the computer, communication should work.

Once I set them up, It slowed my connections down to a crawl. Thinking that I did something wrong, I reset the router and did the entire installation. Plug gigabit computers into the switch, non gigabit/wireless devices into the e1200 router.
If e1200 can't handle DHCP for the switch, could I configure a DHCP linux server directly to the switch?
I don't want to limit my network to my e1200 speeds when I have a gigabit capable modem and a gigabit capable switch.
My computer is not wireless so I have needed a wireless router from Time Warner. Directions tell me to connect to my computer. Will that solve the fact that my computer is not built in wireless?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the AE1000 adaptor on my wife's computer and direct wired on mine is the E2000.The e2000 is set to 2.4mhz and when connected to the wireless network, my wifes ae1000 shows it is connected at 144mbps.When I change the e2000 to 5.0 mhz and then my wife connects to the internet, she shows the ae1000 at 16-53 mbps. When I switch back to 2.4 she shows 144. I thought that when the e2000 is connected at 5.0 she should have a "faster connection".

I sometimes have days where I can't use the internet at all because it won't connect. I had a friend look at it and they said it could be faulty wiring for my cables. Is that possible? View 7 Replies View RelatedI used the CD to set up my new EA3500 with my Wild Blue Satellite internet modem.An IPhone or IPad can connect and work like a charm, remaining rock solid at all times. Windows 7 on the other hand, will work and then lose connection to the internet. The PC appears to remain connected to the EA3500, but the connection between the EA3500 and modem appear to be lost. I can click on the bar Icon at the bottom and it shows everything to be fine. I click on disconnect and then wait a few seconds and click on connect again and it works for a few minutes before having to do it again. When I look at the router properties the CD set it up for DHCP.

We've reset the router twice. we can set up the wireless network but we cannot connect to it. The connection last for about 5 minutes and then we get an error, cannot read IP address. When I connect my old ASMAX $30 router, I get 78 Mbit/sek. And I find it OK.But when I connect my EA6500 I get 28 MBits/sec. Same result on wire as on wireless connection. Of course If I enable prioritisation, I get even less, 12-15 Mbits/sec.I tried already even configuration with ASMAX as wired router and EA6500 connected to its LAN port. It gives me 50Mbits/sec.

I can connect to my router but either way it seems like i can't get any internet access (both wireless and by cable): url...I have tried the steps that the linksys FAQ suggests shall fix this problem, but this has not worked. I have also tried to reset the router without any luck. I know it its not the modem that is causing the problem because I'm wired to it now.On the E2000 every light is blinking as it should be (hence the FAQ) so it indicates that there might be a problem with the connection between the router and the computer (tested on other computers too without success).

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy internet cut out last week and after calling my ISP I found out it was in fact my router that was causing the problem (regular connection to PPOE works fine). I've only had my E2000 about 2-3 months and have not had any problems with it. I've restarted the router, done a factory reset, upgraded the firmware, renewed the IP and still I cannot get any connectivity. I can access the router UI fine and I get a response from pinging it and also I have tried replacing the cables but that didn't fix the problem either.
