ZyXEL XtremeMIMO X-550 / Internet Never Works On First Boot Of PC
Nov 10, 2011
everytime I turn on my PC it doesn't see the modem or router and won't connect to internet. I have to turn on the PC, unplug the modem and router and replug them in before it sees the internet.Any other way of doing it doesn't work. (I leave modem router on 24/7, PC is the one in sig, running Win &. Modem is an older Motorala surfboard, wireless is ZyXEL XtremeMIMO X-550 Router.
I bought a new modem (Zyxel P-660H-D1) few weeks ago and since then my internet has been alot slower than before. When i start up my computer, it isn't actually that slow at first... it starts getting slow after around 10-20 minutes. I also started getting bluescreens from time to time. My downloads aren't that much slower then before, but loading internet pages is painfully slow and online games are lagging alot. This is also happening with my xbox360, so I don't think it's my computers fault. With my old modem (Telewell EA-501) I was getting around 6Mbps, but with the new one its only around 1-2Mbps. My ping is also very high (around 400ms) and I have some packet loss. My jitter is 200ms.
I do not have access to internet (I'm on some unsecured internet from around here now, very slow). When I start the internetdiagnostics from windows, he says it's the modem or the connection from laptop, router, modem to internet. However, the lights indicating internet and dsl on the modem are brightly burning and the router shows nothing abnormal too.
I have a WPA2-PSK security, the modem is Zyxel. Also, the ethernetcable portal on my laptop is broken, so I can't do anything non-wireless. My phone has the same problem with this internet, it can get a connection, but no internet.
Just recently got a Zyxel VSG1432 router connected to the main computer in my home. I am now trying to connect my laptop wirelessly. It will connect to the router but says it is an unidentified network and it doesn't connect to the internet. There is an x in the network and sharing window.I have tried restarting the router, going to the router webpage and resetting to factory settings, none of this worked. Also contacted the service provider and spoke with two tech guys, but still no luck.
I have build a new pc this week. All was fine offline. After connecting to the Internet initially everything loads quickly however sometimes after turning on my pc or restarting it the Internet just refuses to load. Pages take forever then I get a message unable to connect however the connection is still active and all my other devices work ipad etc. after a few times restarting or leaving it for a while all is fine.
I am running Windows XP and Linux Ubuntu on dual boot. When I open into XP I cannot establish an ADSL internet connection, but can by wireless. If I open into Ubuntu I can establish both ADSL and Wireless internet. In Windows I have checked my Realtek Card in Device Manager - says working O.K.. When I try to open internet by ADSL the message is " trying to assign IP address " then limited or no connectivity" - if I try "Repair" message cannot establish IP address.Clearly something is blocking my connection.
My pc will not pick up the internet, my iPad does through my wifi. I called my provider and they said my connection is fine, they mentioned not using a USB cable but when I take it out my wifi won't work on my iPad. My pc keeps saying not connected to the internet. I have a modem and a router, do I only need 1 maybe?
My computer is connected via ethernet cable. the internet works fine. But it says that I am Not Connected and that there are no connections available.I'm not sure what specs you guys would need to look at tobut just post telling me what
I have a HP G60-530US and i use Mozilla Firefox. My computer had froze up and i had to restart it. My wifi is working but it keeps sending me firefox cant find the server at... message. It said that the firewall or proxy could be doing it but i cant find a problem with it. My computer had just updated so i dont know if that could be the issue. My other computer is working just fine so i know its not the router. My computer has done with before but i cant remember how i fix it and if im not mistaken my computer had updated when it happen the last time, but im not 100% sure.
I was using firefox this morning and my desktop suddenly just stopped connecting to the internet. I unplugged the ethernet cord and tried it on my laptop and it connects to the internet fine using the same ethernet cord. I have on-campus internet, so there is no router or anything for me to try resetting. I tried the windows 7 troubleshooter and it said to reset the router, but there is no router to resetOn the non-connecting computer, I can ping the IP address and the default gateway address, but not the DNS servers or something like yahoo
The inet was working through the router (we get it off our neighbours), now our neighbour is our grandad and he doesnt use the internet (his daughters do but they left home). So we decided to take the router around to our house because the signal would always be very weak in our house (but it worked.) So we connected an ethernet cable, that goes through the roof of both houses attics and into my room, and plugged the router in there. back in the other house, the wire is going into the modem.
So we have the modem in one house, with a big wire going to my house into the router. We turn it on and it works, for like 3 seconds then suddenly, we get the message "No internet access" and "limited internet access" on our XP and windows 7 laptops. On the windows 7 it shows a small yellow triangle symbol with an exclamation mark on the bars too.So I tried turning off firewall, and resetting router and all that, plugging it into modem (which I'm doing now) and have narrowed it down to something to do with the routers settings, because it works fine through the modem. and its nothing to do with the router being in the other house because we even brough the router back and its doing the same thing.I dont understand why something would go wrong just by unplugging the router because nothing was changed. Anyway I tried johnwills steps and here are my results from both my XP and windows 7,

I have a computer connected by ethernet to a netgear router. >Today it has decided it doesn't want to connect to the internet. When I try to connect it justs tells me it can't find the server.
I'm inclined to think this is a bad router but just wanted to run it by everyone. All of a sudden I can't get into the router interface or ping it, but the internet still works. If I power cycle the router, then I can get back into it.
I'm visiting my friend at her apartment and her internet only works through an ethernet cable. I unplugged the cable from her computer and plugged it into mine and it worked perfectly but when we switched it back to her computer her internet takes forever to identify and ends with local only connection how do we fix her computer?
I've just got my first ever router from talktalk, DSL 2780 which works fine but I still can't connect to the internet. I called the helpline and they checked my broadband connection is working fine and all the cables are correctly connected. Then she got me to open Internet Explorer and type in 192.168.1.1 but it brought up a page saying that it couldn't be displayed and there was no internet connection, so she told me to make sure the Work Offline option wasn't ticked and did something else in Tools Internet Options and then typed those numbers again but it still didn't work.
I have tried everything to find out what is blocking my internet connection from working in regular mode for more than 30 seconds. My internet connection works just fine when i boot in Safe mode with networking and thats it.what is blocking my internet connection on my computer! here's my hijack logfile if you need to look at it Running processes:
my internet only works in safe mode with networking but outside of safe mode i dosent work and i cant use the internet as i have seen in other cases they asked for a hijackthis scan so i done one and ask if you wish
we hadn't have the WEP key on our Linksys wireless router, so we decided, about a month ago, that it was a good idea to lock our wireless connection. So we did. For a couple of weeks, everything worked just fine. But then we bought a new printer, which happened to be a wireless network printer, and in the process of installing it, we mistook the reset button (I think) on the router for some other button and ended up resetting the router. When we did that, we undid WEP key, thereby unlocking the router. Then, we locked the router again, at which point one of our computers--which happens to be mine--ended up not working. All other computers and phones and iPads work just fine, but this one laptop of mine just doesn't work (with respect to wireless internet connections, of course).
- pressing the reset button on the router again. It kind of works. The internet works for about five or ten minutes (which is unbearably annoying because I have to reconnect it every five minutes), but my computer somehow disconnects itself from the internet connection. Also, although the internet technically "works," the wireless network icon thing on the bottom right of the screen has an "X" on it, which I thought meant the internet is not working, but it apparently doesn't, because my internet is working now. And, if I click the icon, it says that I'm not connected, but, again, the internet works. (for about 5~10 minutes, if I unlock the router)
- changing the internet protocol information (I don't think it does anything, but.)
- changing the wireless internet connection property to WPA, WPA-PSK... everything.
*All computers in the house have wireless internet connections but mine.
*When I reset the router, the internet works, although the computer says it isn't connected, and it disconnects itself every 5 or 10 minutes.
three days ago my internet worked just fine. now when i came home again, it will only work in safemode with networking.im using ''windows 7'' on a ''Dell Inspiron 660-6823'' and the internet is going wireless
My computer connects to my institute LAN.They provided us a configuration according which I configured TCP/IP v4 settings and firefox settings. All the webpages open smoothly but other internet realted services apart from firefox are not working eg Skype,Windows Update,Mu Torrent etc.The LAN connection says "No Internet access"(The sites are opening nicely though) and puts a yellow exclamation marks on the LAN symbol in system tray.
Internet works fine for a few minutes(around 2-5 usually), then it completely stops. It doesn't say it was disconnected, it just stops.Wireless has been working just fine the past few days.) We have used a desktop computer with this type of setup before and it worked just fine, that desktop was like a 2001 Dell that could barely stay on.
At random times the network cable is apparently unplugged but then it reconnects and then I cant receive anything.I disconnect the LAN then reconnect and then it works again. This is on a winXp computer.
hen its wireless, it has no problems with the internet, everything works fine. But when its wired, webpages will still load, but youtube videos wont work, anything that consists of streaming doesn't work, and he cant even useI have connected other laptops to the same cord and there is no problems. so i know its not the cord and i imagine its not the router since everything still works fine with other computers.
I am unable to connect to the internet unless in safe mode. If I disable my firewall in normal mode I can connect but it seems a bit slow. I have used Hijackthis and it gave me a log file which I can paste if needed. To analyse this tool has not highlighted anything that is dangerous. Why I can't connect to the internet?
I have my internet coming from my DSL modem (of course) and running into my wireless router. Once it is in the router I can't get a connection, period. Not even through any of my router's ethernet ports. This wasn't the case until about 3 o'clock yesterday. If I unplug the cable from my wireless router and plug it directly into my computer it runs fine. If I run it through my Micro-Cell tower and into my computer it runs fine. But if I plug it into a router it won't work through Wi-Fi or Ethernet. I have tested the connections of all the ethernet cables I am using. Figuring it had to be a problem with my router (since it was working earlier and the connection only disappears when plugged into it) so I bought another, same problem. What else could it be? PS: I'm using both a MacBook Bro, a PC, a PS3, and a Nintendo 3DS and none get a signal from the wifi. I always keep the PC hardwired through the ethernet ports on the router and use the wireless for everything else
Worked fine and then all of a sudden the Internet didn't work anymore. So I ran the computer in safe mode and it works fine, but still no luck in regular mode. Ran worm removal and spybot but nothing has worked. Also the windows bar is missing now for some reason. Windows Xp Service Pack 3.
So I have 2 laptops, a win 7 and a win 8,The windows 7 laptop works on the internet fine, but the windows 8 one always disconnects, even when the win 7 isn't on.It disconnects usually when I'm running multiple programs that use the internet on it, but when I run a game like counter-strike, it disconnects too, but not nearly as often. The router is from 2008 or 2009, but it's a tiny aztech one. I'm sure it's not the isp, because like I said, the other laptop works fine.
Yesterday I picked up a laptop of a friend of mine which had some problems with the Internet connectivity. Turns out, Internet only works when booted in Safe Mode, however, it does ping in Normal Mode so there is connectivity. Tried IE and Firefox, both do not work in Normal Mode and do work in Safe Mode. MSN Messenger won't work in Normal Mode either. After carefully checking the Windows event logs, it looks like some services are not booted in normal mode.I have executed the following steps and measures in order for me to see if I would be able to fix the problem myself.
1) Boot in Normal Mode: - Checked the settings of the adapter, no exclamation marks or other problems. - Installed Revo Uninstaller Pro > Uninstalled all present antivirus program - Installed Microsoft Security Essentials - Ran a Full scan with Microsoft Securty Essentials; 1 virus > removed (just a virus which gives pop-ups) - Installed CC Cleaner, cleaned the whole system - Shut off all antivirus programs, IE and Firefox still not working.
2) Looked for extra information:cmd > Ipconfig/all Normal Mode [code]
So,I'm living in a university campus and I've got an internet connection via a proxy server. The thing is,when ever I plug in the network cable,my PC recognizes the network, but the little network tray says "No internet access". But the curious thing is that the internet actualy works. My browser works,I can access any website (well, except the restricted ones via proxy) but it works just like any other internet connection in the campus. But,recently I've got my hands on a VPN account to have access to things that my proxy wouldn't allow me (torrents for example). But,probably because of that "No internet access" problem, when ever I try to make that VPN account,it tells me that I need to connect to the internet first. I already am,but my PC still keeps requiring an internet connection.I can't manualy connect to it,since I don't have the ISP data required. I've only got my VPN account data (VPN username and password).
This is kind of annoying, since this only happens to me,my other room mates don't have this problem, they plug in their cables, their network adapters recognize both the network and the internet access. Only mine says "No internet access" but the internet works fine.My operating system is genuine, when ever I go home and connect to my home network this problem doesn't ocure anymore, this only happens when I connect to my university's internet connection.I've tried reinstalling my operating system.Still no results.I'll attach a printscreen so you could see exactly what I mean.
I've been using the Linksys router e1000 N type for a week now and it hasn't beeen such a great experience. The thing is when i connect the modem to my laptop via ethernet cable internet works but not when i connect the cable to the router even though this worked before. actually a few hours before. so i dont know whats happened to my router since clearly the problem is in there. the modem has lights for PC Cable DATA and POWER. The lights to all of them blink when i have connected the modem directly to laptop but the PC light is non existent when i connect it to router. hence i get no internet access. the routers power is on so i dont know what the prob is ive rebooted it a few times but to no avail.
