My pc will not pick up the internet, my iPad does through my wifi. I called my provider and they said my connection is fine, they mentioned not using a USB cable but when I take it out my wifi won't work on my iPad. My pc keeps saying not connected to the internet. I have a modem and a router, do I only need 1 maybe?

Now ,my network keeps saying no internet access, yet my phone has no issues with the wifi. No, i dont have or use Mcafee. I ran malwarebytes but it didnt find anything. Superantispyware keeps crashing (I dont run both at the same time.)
View 3 Replies View Relatedmy computer just randomly stopped connecting to the intenet. I checked my other computers and phone and found they were all working fine. I was having internet problems pior to this happening (internet was being very slow and some web pages and some videos wouldn't load. I think the latter had to do with flash player though.) I had also been doing some stupid stuff on my comp that I know can give you viruses. Furthermore I also knew that due to previous virus's I was not able to do a restore. So as you have probably gathered my computer was pretty buggered even before this problem. So decided to restore to factory default using some backup images I made when I first got the comp. That went smoothly however the internet stilll doesn't work unless I plus it in using a ethernet cable.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI just recently bought a Telewell Wlan AP wireless access point and my problem is that I can't connect to the internet with Lan, hence can't get connection on my desktop. My laptop however works fine with wlan.
There's a wall socket which connects to a bigger student local network, I can connect my desktop to it directly and it works so there seems to be nothing wrong with my computer. I've had 2 routers before this, another Telewell that worked flawlessly and a Buffalo that cut the connection every now and then but didn't have this kind of problem.
I have the router plugged into the wall, set to get a dynamic ip (as it should be) and it does find Wan-side ip-address and dns-servers, as I could connect through wifi. So there doesn't seem to be a problem with that either. But for some reason Lan doesn't work. I can access the router through Lan, dhcp is on and I can see my desktop on the routers client list.
My computer worked fine on the eithernet, but I had to move it to a different room and now it won't recognize ANY WIFI connections. I know the wifi is working because I have laptops and phones connected to it. the computer is only 8 months old. It's an HP Pavillion AMD Phenom II 820 Quad-Core Processor, Windows 7 64 Bit, Wireless LAN 802.11b/g/n.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to connect to the internet via the Ethernet port on my laptop, but the built-in Wi-Fi card works perfectly fine. I normally use Wi-Fi, as our signal is very strong, even if I go outside and up the road, I can still connect.
My issue is that although I don't need it, I'd like to setup Ethernet for the first time since installing Windows 7. I've had Windows 7 since April 2011, and prior to that I used Windows Vista. From memory, I don't think Vista had any problems with connecting via Ethernet back before I moved house, but this was over two years ago.
My laptop is an ASUS X58L, and the NIC identified by Device Manager, is a Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC. Going into the properties, I can see that I have the latest Windows 7 driver installed - 6.111.723.2009, however prior to this I had the driver that came with the machine (when it was running Vista), which was 6.108.331.2008 and tried updating from Device Manager, but for some reason it said that I had the best driver already installed. To install the 2009 Windows 7 driver, I had to manually download it from Realtek. With either of the drivers, connecting via Ethernet doesn't work, and I'm confused as to what to do next.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using my laptop since a year now and yesterday suddenly my internet stopped working. On top of the connectivity bar a yellow sign appeared. Now my internet status is "No internet access" but when i connect my ethernet cable the internet starts working and i can see the "Internet access" status. I have re-installed my wi-fi driver too from the orignal CD that i got with my laptop, but still no luck also i did not install anything in past 1 week and the only anti-virus i have is Avast (tried disabling it too). I plugged out the cables from my router and plugged them again but that dint work too. There are 2 other laptops (running on windows 7 just like mine) on which the wifi connection is working but on mine it is not working.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy laptop works fine on my network for 80% of the time but the rest of the time I get yellow triangle and the system says limited access. The annoying bit is that when this happens my smartphone is still connected to my wifi network and works perfectly so I can only assume there is a fault on the laptop. I take out the network adapter plug then plug it in and the laptop usually reconnects but sometimes it can take about half an hour!

i have bought TP-Link W895IND and frequently the WIFI is not working. Everytime i have to active and deactive. Now since last one day it totaly stoped working . WIFE icon is glowing continously without flickering.
I have Lenovo laptop and my internet works just fine when the cable is connected but Wifi does not work. It shows that i have excellent signal on the side but it just wont connect. I have an E1200 model 1 router. I've owned it for over a year and it's given me no problems until now...Hardwired ethernet connections work fine, but the wifi no longer works consistently. I have several wireless-N wifi devices that either cannot connect to the router at all (they present an error message), or do connect but will not load anything over the connection, or will load web pages very very slowly and then suddenly drop the connection.When I go to the DCHP client table, I see all of my ethernet connections but it does not show any wifi devices, even if the WiFi device is showing a connection to the router.The wifi connection is secured via WPA2 Personal.I have tried changing channels to one that was not congested with any other nearby routers. I have also tried a 30-30-30 factory reset. I am updated to the latest firmware version (1.0.03). I am sure I am entering the correct pass phrase to connect over WPA2. All of my wifi devices are confirmed to be wireless-n, not g or b.

Now only one of the hardwired ports works (#1) and it causes the router trouble enough sometimes to make it disconnect from the cable modem. All the wifi connections (5 of them) work well and do not appear to cause any trouble. What can I do?

I have a problem with files sharing via wi-fi. I can not share files over the network using wi-fi connections. While the network is the cable connection sharing is available. The network also acts as one computer is connected by a cable to the router and the other via wifi. But if the two computers are working through wifi network does not work. Are there any settings in the router, which can cause blocking calls via wifi?

My wifi is working but it keeps sending me firefox cant find the server at... message. It said that the firewall or proxy could be doing it but i cant find a problem with it. My computer had just updated so i dont know if that could be the issue. My other computer is working just fine so i know its not the router. View 1 Replies View RelatedThe inet was working through the router (we get it off our neighbours), now our neighbour is our grandad and he doesnt use the internet (his daughters do but they left home). So we decided to take the router around to our house because the signal would always be very weak in our house (but it worked.) So we connected an ethernet cable, that goes through the roof of both houses attics and into my room, and plugged the router in there. back in the other house, the wire is going into the modem.
So we have the modem in one house, with a big wire going to my house into the router. We turn it on and it works, for like 3 seconds then suddenly, we get the message "No internet access" and "limited internet access" on our XP and windows 7 laptops. On the windows 7 it shows a small yellow triangle symbol with an exclamation mark on the bars too.So I tried turning off firewall, and resetting router and all that, plugging it into modem (which I'm doing now) and have narrowed it down to something to do with the routers settings, because it works fine through the modem. and its nothing to do with the router being in the other house because we even brough the router back and its doing the same thing.I dont understand why something would go wrong just by unplugging the router because nothing was changed. I called the helpline and they checked my broadband connection is working fine and all the cables are correctly connected.Then she got me to open Internet Explorer and type in 192.168.1.1 but it brought up a page saying that it couldn't be displayed and there was no internet connection, so she told me to make sure the Work Offline option wasn't ticked and did something else in Tools Internet Options and then typed those numbers again but it still didn't work.

View 1 Replies View Relatedwe hadn't have the WEP key on our Linksys wireless router, so we decided, about a month ago, that it was a good idea to lock our wireless connection. So we did. For a couple of weeks, everything worked just fine.But then we bought a new printer, which happened to be a wireless network printer, and in the process of installing it, we mistook the reset button (I think) on the router for some other button and ended up resetting the router. When we did that, we undid WEP key, thereby unlocking the router. Then, we locked the router again, at which point one of our computers--which happens to be mine--ended up not working. All other computers and phones and iPads work just fine, but this one laptop of mine just doesn't work (with respect to wireless internet connections, of course).
- pressing the reset button on the router again. It kind of works. The internet works for about five or ten minutes (which is unbearably annoying because I have to reconnect it every five minutes), but my computer somehow disconnects itself from the internet connection. Also, although the internet technically "works," the wireless network icon thing on the bottom right of the screen has an "X" on it, which I thought meant the internet is not working, but it apparently doesn't, because my internet is working now. And, if I click the icon, it says that I'm not connected, but, again, the internet works. (for about 5~10 minutes, if I unlock the router)
- changing the internet protocol information (I don't think it does anything, but.)
- changing the wireless internet connection property to WPA, WPA-PSK... everything.
*All computers in the house have wireless internet connections but mine.
*When I reset the router, the internet works, although the computer says it isn't connected, and it disconnects itself every 5 or 10 minutes.
