View 1 RepliesI have an E1200 model 1 router. I've owned it for over a year and it's given me no problems until now...Hardwired ethernet connections work fine, but the wifi no longer works consistently. I have several wireless-N wifi devices that either cannot connect to the router at all (they present an error message), or do connect but will not load anything over the connection, or will load web pages very very slowly and then suddenly drop the connection. When I go to the DCHP client table, I see all of my ethernet connections but it does not show any wifi devices, even if the WiFi device is showing a connection to the router. The wifi connection is secured via WPA2 Personal.I have tried changing channels to one that was not congested with any other nearby routers. I have also tried a 30-30-30 factory reset. I am updated to the latest firmware version (1.0.03). I am sure I am entering the correct pass phrase to connect over WPA2. All of my wifi devices are confirmed to be wireless-n, not g or b.

I have one little problem, at one of our offices they have a brother printer that has a scanner built in, since this change over the scanner does not seem to want to work,
as far as i can guess the router is blocking communication to the scanner, printing is working fine. is there anything that I need to enable or add to the settings on the cisco to get this working? I believe that the printer is using some kind of multicast to connect to the PC's
Signed onto pc as admin, logged into router with correct user name and password. No page in the browser based configuration displays the complete information for the page. Menus are missing as are option labels, etc. The last time I accessed the router (about a year ago) I didn't have this problem.
View 3 Replies View RelatedBasically, I rebuilt my network over the weekend, to include a subnet, and can no longer connect my desktop to the remote PC. My old router was reset to defaults and re-configured. My PC has been wiped, reinstalled, and fully updated. The error I receive is "Remote Desktop can't connect to the remote computer for one of these reasons: etc" I've only seen this error in the past when the PC I connect to was powered down. I have confirmed that everything is still set up properly on the PC I'm trying to connect to via an associate, and it is not powered down.

1. I went into Windows firewall to allow Remote Desktop through, but it looks like that only needs to be set for the PC I'm trying to connect to. (Yes/No?)
2. I've forwarded port 3389 from the old router to my PC.
3. I haven't done anything yet to the new router, because I really can't tell if I'm doing the right things. The very first time I connected to the remote PC, it went right through, and I didn't have to change anything in the old router (I think - it's been awhile). I really don't know where to go from here, and it looks like the setup options I've found in the forum so far (static IP, port forwarding, Windows firewall changes, etc.) leave me with more security risks than I had on the old network, and there seem to be some conflicting opinions about the setup process.
I've been having an issue with my internet connection. I have AT&T Uverse high speed internet, complete with the Motorola NVG510 ADSL modem. For the past couple weeks, my download speeds have gone from 1.0 MB/s to < 100 KB/s up to 400 KB/s if I'm lucky.I used to be able to download files and watch videos at the same time with very little trouble, but now I only have enough bandwidth to either do one or the other without causing any problems. I thought my ISP had throttled my bandwidth, but I've run the Glasnost tests at url... and it came back as fine.It may not mean anything, but I should note that a few weeks ago, we had storms move through the area and lightning struck our house. It ended up shocking my mom through the USB mouse while she was using my computer, it blew out one of my computer speakers, and I believe it's the reason why the ethernet port on my motherboard no longer works.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just updated my F5D8233-4 ver 3000 router with the latest firmware. Now only one of the hardwired ports works (#1) and it causes the router trouble enough sometimes to make it disconnect from the cable modem. All the wifi connections (5 of them) work well and do not appear to cause any trouble. What can I do?
