Part of my house doesn't get the Wifi signal from my router. I want to setup a second WiFi router in another part of my house. I was thinking of running an ethernet cable out of the existing WiFi router through the walls to the other location and plugging it into the input on a second Wifi router. Would this work?
I have tried the signal repeater route and the signal just doesn't repeat strong enough.
Any way to connect a wifi usb to a wireless router for better wifi connect?? i have wifi but it only gets in the room of the house im in and want it to work though out the house not just one room
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a wifi router and a adsl ethernet/usb router, the adsl router connect to my laptop through usb port, and the wifi router connect to the adsl router throught ethernet/wan port.I can go online with the adsl router alone but cant with the wifi.I can connect to the wifi router's gate to config stuff, like password, wifi's name... but I just can not connect to IPS to online. Other devices can see the wifi network but when connect to it, I just can go to it's gateway.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to connect my downstairs PC (No wireless Card) to my upstairs Wi-Fi printer through my Wi-Fi router and have not been able to do it, even after reading and resetting my printer's network card as directed by Brother's tech support 4 times.Actually, that's not true once I WAS able to access the printer's online Interface and change a few settings, but when it came time to submit my settings, everything just froze and I wasn't able to access the interface afterwards. (see my setup below) Here's the result of the first attempts (Node Type and IP Address are NOT good)IP range NOT good 169.254.x.x .Second and temporarily successful attempt (Node Type and IP Address are good) IP Range IS good 192.168.x.x.I know it would be easier to simply buy a Wi-Fi network card for my PC but I would rather learn how to do this manually.

I can't get this tablet to connect to the server I have put in all the ssid and the name of the server. When I try to connect it says connecting, then autherizing and then it does a loop and does not ever change,keeps on doing it. In the little shell that is to change color when connected there is a very small lock showing and I am not sure just what todo about this.

However, i can connect to it through wired connection. Others in my apartment can connect to the router. They dont have windows 7 (they use vista, ubuntu). Its working fine for them. I have tried many things like updating the router, disabling firewall, changing wireless security settings, updating windows but none of them seem to work. My friend who has the same laptop also cant connect when I cant. It happens simultaneously. As soon as my connection is disconnected, his also disconnects.

I went onto the network settings of the Camera and set up the wireless setting to connect to my router network (typed in the SSID and wireless pass key etc) but nothings happening?!? View 5 Replies View RelatedI just successfully setup my wireless Netgear router to work with my laptop and desktop. I now want to get my iPhone to connect to it as a WiFi connection. It sees the available network after I enable WiFi, but when it tries to connect, it just says "unable to connect" or something after I input the password.
My current password shows in the Netgear router (through 192.168.1.1) in the "passphrase" field under Wireless Settings, and it's cp6s-n3rb-ziav. This is what I put in the password field for my particular network in the iPhone before it tells me it can't connect.
There is an option on the left column in the router for "Set password," but it's just to change it to something else. If my iPhone won't accept the current one, I don't see why it would accept a new one, and then I'd have to go and change it in the laptop, too. Without knowing if that's the issue, I'm holding off on that for right now.

I'm able to connect with no problems (thru wifi or regular connection) on my pc. However, my 13" Macbook (running Lion) sometimes finds if hard to connect after I turn it on. I will have to continously turn off and on the wifi of the macbook to have it force to look at wifi networks. It will not be able to see also other wifi networks which are present in my neighbors which my windows 7 and other machines can see. After playing around with it I found that the macbook will connect to wifi only after I connect it momentarily via cable. I do this everytime I turn on my macbook.I just upgraded to a Macbook Pro running on Lion and the same thing happened. I tried the same solution of connecting first via cable but to my disappointment, would not see any wifi network including my neighbor's which again the other machines can see. So I am stuck with using cable for now.

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy internet speeds are 45 Mbps DL and 1 Mbps UL and my various wireless connections (3 laptops in my household) were achieving speeds anywhere from 25-40 Mbps DL. My router started acting up and wasn't letting anyone connect via wifi so I did a factory reset and set it up the same way I did before (as best as I could), it started working fine again but now the speeds on all the devices that are connecting to at are capped at 18 Mbps. A simple speed test shows that no matter what they won't pass 18 Mbps, I am almost 100% certain this is the router and I was wondering what I might have done wrong or what is causing this.

But when i connect the internet cable to wifi router, then a LAN cable from router to desktop, my desktop is showing that the network cable was disconnected. I have used the different lan cable too. I have used the reset function too. But the problem was not solved. I am getting the wifi access. But the connection between the router and the desktop was not established.
