I am struggling to connect my Airlink101 router to AT&T DSL router. Even though I see "connected" in router status, i am unable to get connected thru wire / wireless and browse.

The modem Time Warner gave me several years ago was dying, I took it in, they gave me a Cisco modem, I plugged it into the computer, works fine, so then I plugged it into my airlink 101 wireless router, the computer recognizes the router but says there is no internet access, i.e. the modem and router are not communicating. Why would change of modem cause lack of communication with the router, is there something different about modems now compared with roughly 5 years ago? And what can i do to fix it so i can have wireless access again? If it matters, I have no protection on my wireless (because I never figured out how).

It appears as though the two notebooks sometime are going through this device to access the Linksys E3000. (I've checked when both notebooks are on and I can determine what devices are connecting directly to the router and what devices are going through this unknown device.) Is there any way to determine what this unknown device is?

I also have a NetGear DGND3300v2 router which I would like to connect to the Thomson (eventually I will purchase a switch and connect another device along with the NetGear). The problem is that the NetGear only has 4 LAN ports and no WAN ports, which I assume you would need to set this up.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a new Belkin N wireless router, model number (F5D8236-4 V3), i am however trying to connect this router to my old Belkin G wireless Modem Router (F5D7632-4 Ver7000uk).Now i can't seem to get the N router to connect to the internet-after much faffing about i can get all the LED lights to turn blue-bar the wireless which blinks amber (i did this by turning the DHCP server off, and by using the same WEP code). I get limited connectivity wirelessly and wired, which basically might aswell just say no connection.
Taking the N router out of the equation, the g router can connect to the internet wired (it no longer seems to work wirelessly, and had a horrible range on it anyway). I use a PPPoE connection-all my ISP details are correct.how i can get the N Router to work wirelessly and wired.

It seems to be the worst on weeknights and weekends.<removed by moderator - etaf>, For reference, I am running a Windows 7 machine, connecting wirelessly through a Netgear WNR1000 router. When connected to the router using an ethernet cable, it works perfectly fine. There is another wired device which works fine, so it's mainly the wifi connection. For my Windows 7 PC, the wireless cuts in and out (working fine now), and oftentimes drops me. I have to reset the router/modem multiple times just to be able to use it. My roommate who also has a wireless PC also has problems connecting wirelessly as well. Currently, I have IPV4 connectivity, but no IPV6 connectivity.

When they came over two days ago, we received a new modem, RCA DHG535-2. The issue we are experiencing is that the modem is not connecting to our rt n-16 ASUS wireless router. The modem works fine without the router but we need it for school work. The troubleshooter says "DNS is not available".A few things i tried was to unplug everything and reconnect them back from the modem to the computer.It usually works when i had trouble in the past but it seems nothing is working.

I have tried to connect to the VPN from inside the router and it works fine. but I can't access from outside of the router. The computer will connect but then when on the "Verifying Username and Password" step the connection will disconnect with error 721: The remote computer did not respond. ISP: Comcast
Plan: BlastPlus, which supposedly gives speeds of up to 40 mbps
Modem: Ubee D3.0
Router: Cisco/Linksys E1200
Before we got the router we used a wired connection which could only have one person connected at a time. That connection was a good speed, though I don't know exactly how fast. It never gave us any trouble. Now that we connected our router, we can't even stream youtube videos or anything. Emails take a long time to open, and navigating web pages in general is very slow.
I have a new n series Belnet wireless router that can take a usb printer. I have a Lexmark 2200 Series 1 Printer (with usb connection). I have used this printer with my laptop (runs Windows xp) by connecting the printer usb directly. I have also connected my laptop to the wireless router. I have plugged the printer into the wireless router's usb port. Is it possible to access the printer this way? I do not know what I should do next. The laptop cannot access the printer through the wireless.

I bought an old IBM Think Pad laptop and i cant seem to connect to my wireless router. I have another laptop which connected with no problem just simply typed the wireless password in and all work fine and the same for my iphone. First problem was when I got asked for the wireless password it came up with a message say " The network password needs to be 40bits or 104bits depending on your network comfiguration".

View 3 Replies View Relatedi ahve a dlink dir 615 B2 router and it wont connect to the internet. on day it was fine and working, the next day the internet led wouldn't change from the red light to the green light.i have tried resetting it about 60 times, while the laptop was on/off, while it was plugged it, while it was without power, while the internet cable was in, while it wasn't, while it was shut down and i reset it and the i pluged it in while resetting it...i dont know what else to do!! short of smashing the bejesus out of it. The internet works fine when i connect the cable directly to the laptop, I don;t have a cable modem or anything, just a plain old cable from the street to my house.

I called medialink tech support and they said that everything should work fine but that most likely both the router and the modem need to go to through a "power-cycle" to sync up and then it should work.
