Is it "possible to create a WiFi" or make my desktop using hardware connection, a hotspot? (Without buying a wireless router/modem/card) I mean, is there a tweak or program I can download to configure my desktop running on Windows 7 to create wi-fi? The reason why I'm interested in this it's because, for Bluetooth, it's possible. Just wondering if they have the same nature with WiFi (In terms of configuration and tweaks)^,

At home I have a D Link DSL-2640R wireless adsl router/modem in my downstairs office.I would like to use the cable which goes to upstairs of the house to link to some sort of extra router or switch in order to provide more network ports upstairs.
I have DSL with a Comtrend router/wifi (WIFI1). I would like to connect the WRT54GL to the physical network and have it create a separate wifi network (WIFI2), so my laptop will connect to WIFI2, get passed to the LAN and on to the Internet. Cant make this work - tried setting up the WRT for DHCP server, DHCP pass through (to the comtrend), and the best I can do is get connected to WIFI2 and have access to the LAN but not the Internet. Ultimately I want to put a high gain antenna on the WRT to make it reach another building about 400' away and do away with comtrends horrible WIFI, but I cant get to first base.
Basically, I'm trying to create a VPN connection that I can use abroad so that I can use my own UK IP address in another country to access content such as BBC iPlayer and Skype which are restricted in the country that I am going to. I could buy a VPN but that would seem rather silly seeing as I could create my own, hopefully. However, I have tried to create a VPN but I have failed miserably! I tried setting up a VPN using the basic method, i.e. Create a new VPN, enter IP address, enter password etc, basically, I follwed these steps

I recently bought a new computer and router, and want to hook up the router. I read that you can have two routers by connecting one to another with a really long cable, but how does that work? I don't know how and i don't want to mess up my current internet.

I would like to use a Cisco 1921 at my house and create a "Easy VPN Remote" connection to our ASA 5510 at work. Can I use the Easy VPN Client with the base license, or do I need the security license to take advantage of the VPN tunnel?

I use a USB modem(wireless) for connecting to the net. This way only I can connect to the net on my laptop. Wanted to check if there is some hardware available which can allow me to create a wifi network at my office using this USB wireless modem so that others can also connect to the net with this connection.
I have an AT&T DSL modem connected to my desktop computer. I just bought a Kindle Fire HD and I need to get it hooked up with WI-FI. Do I need to buy a separate router to have WI-FI or doe my modem already have it?
I have a 3g usb modem hooked up to my main Windows xp laptop. I'm also sharing that 3g connection with ICS out the ethernet port on the laptop to my wifi router.
All works ok and I'm able to browse from all computers connected to the wifi router except when I turn on the main laptop's wifi to connect to the same wifi router that it's connected to through ethernet for ics.
I am able to ping google and stuff and also use skype but I can't browse the web on any browser. If I turn off the wifi card on that laptop then I'm able to browse again with no problem on the main laptop and on all other connected computers.
I'm not sure but I'm guessing that the browsers are trying to connect through the wifi connection and no longer through the 3g usb modem?
The reason that I turned on the wifi connection of the main laptop to connect to the router is because connected to the router is also my security cameras dvr system and this way I can see my cameras on this main laptop.
So in other words, I have to turn off my main laptop's wifi connection to be able to browse the web but then I cant access the security system's dvr any longer.
My router's ip is 192.168.1.1 My dvr's ip is 192.168.1.100 My laptops' ip is 192.168.0.1
