i just got a sager notebook for college and i just received it. i just opened it out of the box and was unable to connect to wifi. My other computer and iphone are working fine on it. My wifi shows up i am just not able to connect to my internet. ive tried to download drivers and reinstall them.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIt’s just that I had it with Bluetooth in it in my Alienware Mx14-R2 and for some reasons now the Bluetooth doesn’t seem to work.Not I can find the driver in the device manager also., Before I use to use it but now it’s creating problem and it’s just the Bluetooth that doesn’t seem to work.
I did notify Alienware team about it and they did the online conference GO Assist and they did re-install the whole software but there seems to be problem still.I thought it’s better to ask the experts who made the device. I was also told if it doesn’t work that I could just do the factory settings that came with the alienware.

I'm installing all the drivers and such, and the wireless network card will not seem to work. I tried installing the packaged driver and it seemed to work, but it won't find my wireless network. So I went to the manufacturer's site and downloaded the latest, dated April this year, still nothing. The card shows up in Device Manager with no red X or question mark, and says is 'working properly' but in network connections I can't get it to recognize a network.It's inconvenient to get a ethernet cable run to my room, so I'm not sure what to do now. I tried manually entering the SSID and WEP to no avail?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have this motorola router, SURFBOARD SVG1202 and I can't connect to my university VPN. It says my router is blocking the communication. After some days trying to understand why, I saw that it was needed to enable some options at 192.168.0.1. So, I went there and enabled IPsec PassThrough and PPTP PassThrough under the router options and also added my MAC Addr. Then I restarted the router, However when I try to connect into it again (via DHCP, auto IP), it says "null/limited connection" ( I cant even try a vpn connection, Since it is null/limited, I have to choose static ip mode, inserting a IP/gateway/my service DNS under network options, then I can connect to internet again (see image), but router is still blocking the VPN access, hanging at "verifying account. And password." later gives error 619 related to router blocking

I can upload large files to anywhere on my home network .. but when I pull large files off of my main computer with the Killer Nic in it .. the connection drops out on my main rig... no network connection of any kind on my main rig until I reboot ..
I don't have this problem with the onboard nic ..
sometimes the network will drop when the power flutters .. all the other computers I have will have internet connection .. but my rig won't ..
I just bought a m14x alienware and I have the Killer-Wireless 1202 wireless card on it, and I have a 2Wire router from AT&T running in ch 1 at optimum 10. Also, I have another laptop that connects to the same router and this does not happen to it at all.I can connect to the internet fine but when i start browsing, I randomly disconnect from the internet and connect to it again within seconds, and my laptop never shows that it looses internet. I first noticed it when I was using Skype, i started browsing the internet while I was in a call and that's when it happens most, it disconnects, puts the call on hold and says that I'm offline on skype, and within a few seconds I'm back on. This also happens when I'm gaming and it really becomes a hassle when i have to start the game up again because of these disconnections. Rarely i do see a screen from the actual router to check the wired connections of the router and then test the connection when opening a website (any website), when i press test connection (without doing anything) it tells me that the connection has been resolved and to close my browser and to open a new one. However, most of the times, the pages load fine when I'm browsing, I do notice there is a small lag when the disconnections happen, but the page loads up fine after a few seconds, no need to refresh.
I tried releasing and renewing my IP but i get a message that no action can be taken when media is disconnected? I don't know if that has anything to do with it.I also updated the Wireless 1202 Driver with the bigfoot update, although I'm not sure if i did this right, I unzipped all the files where it told me C:/user/driver/wireless (example) but i never got a window to proceed after that, and when i went to the folder and ran the application, it asked me if I wanted to uninstall all components, which is when i canceled and left the newly created files there.

I tried to connect to my ZyXel WiFi router but though i had it all configured right, Windows would always come up with "you entered the wrong key". After playin around for some time i figured out that everything just works fine when i switched my router from WPA-PSK to WPA2-PSK. My router features both WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK but since my other PC does only support WPA-PSK the router is set to that and i want it to stay that way. I just don't want to buy new hardware for all my other computers.
So is this WiFi card strictly incompatible with WPA-PSK? Does'nt make any sense to me because WPA2 works just fine! Normally they are downwards compatible aren't they? (Moreover, when setting up a connection i can choose WPA-PSK from the dropdown menu.
I have been trying to update my Killer-n 1103 card and Killer Network software. When I downloaded the recommended driver from their site and tried to install it it said to uninstall the old drivers/software which I did. Now when I try to install the new software it says there is no compatile hardware. This happens for the Dell recommended drivers as well.

I have read numerous postings on this and ather sites about the Atheros AR9285 not being able to see wireless networks - and guess what I have the same problem!My laptop is an HP CQ61-312SA upgraded to 4GB of ram, and running Windows 7 Home Premium, I have tried everything I can find on this and other forum sites with no luck at all, including updating drivers, making sure Wlan is started etc and I have downloaded programs like Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector and Insider = both of which show absolutely nothing.I have one other problem that might indicate a software problem - on the odd occasion when my computer does try to connect to a wireless network it resets to a blue scree which states that it is doing a 'physical memorey dump' and then restarts.My Atheros card has worked perfectly for 2 years, but I managed to purchase another it case it was faulty - with the same results. I also upgraded the memory in case of a memory fault.Rolling back drivers and using system restore does not work and ipconfig/all gives identical readouts to others with this problem.

Win 7 32bit pro WLC 6.0.196.0 and AP 1142 , associated in 802.11G or N WPA 2 preshared key.
WLC Roaming parameter : minimum RRSI -80dbm, roaming hysteresis 2dB, adaptive scan threshold -70dBm, transition time 5sec.
The laptops are supposed to be compatible with CCXv5 program, but in WLC (and two controllers CT-5508) the client is not seen as CCX client compatible !
So roaming is bad. Even with a very good and dense wifi coverage (no coverage hole detected), because the laptop still stay associated with a far AP (until -90dbm), instead of roaming with the nearests APs (-40dbm !!)

I have Verizon Fios router that is wired into this desktop i also have 2 laptops and now im trying to connect a second desktop wirelessly to the router. My Netgear Rangemax PCI picks up the signal at 68% and connects to the router. But periodically it disconnects from the router and i click connect to a network icon and it shows that i have no wireless internet as if no PCI card is installed so i wait a min then it shows up again and windows network diagnostic kicks in and "resets the network adapter" and all is well for about 15min till it disconnects again.

My objective is to use the USB port on the E1550 to share an external hard drive for my family's shared media files.I have moved into a rental home with little cat5 wiring. Internet service is Uverse.Given the wiring situation, I bought a netgear universal dual band range extender which connects wirelessly to the uverse router in another room. My home office equipment (computer, printer) are wired into the netgear. All of that works fine. The netgear is 192.168.1.66. The computer is 192.168.1.128. So, I wanted to add the E1550 into my network. I can see it as an attached device on the Netgear's admin page, but cisco connect and a direct ip http://192.168.1.68 does not resolve. I have the e1550 connected via a lan port on the netgear extender (there is no other option). I have gone from that lan port to the internet port on the e1550. I have done so with a staight Cat5 cable and with what I believe should be a cross-over. In both situations, I see the router via the netgear admin page but can not connect to it. I'd prefer not the hang my usb drive off of my computer because it if gets turned off or reboots due to a MS Windows auto update, it leaves the rest of the house with no shared media during that process.
