i was looking at my network settings today on my pc and noticed a router (linksys wrt160nv2) that wasn't mine. i can right click on it and see its mac address but when i double click it asks me for a pin number. the device shows up with both a wired and wireless connection. i'm using windows 7 64-bit.

Connected to it in one port is a WRT610N which is on the second floor. Heres my issue now, for my main and computer rooms they are running off of one switch right (I'm not sure the IP of it or even how to find the IP of it) but basically any device connected to the smart panel router via ethernet cable is not recieving internet, devices connected wirelessly are.

I have never set up a lock or anything on my wireless connection and I think other people are using it. When I type the IP address 192.168.1.1 on my laptop, I do not get the screen to pop up to change my settings. Do I need to do this from the computer?

I tried this site [URL] and that didnt work(I only have one xbox 360 btw). Nothing has worked for me and every time I mess with something it screws up the internet so I have to set it up to the previous defaults. For the first couple days I had some issues getting consistant internet but after reading some stuff on here I downgraded to the version 8 hardware and it worked GREAT for about 3 days. Now my power light won't stop flashing and I have NO internet connection at all through the router. All works fine except that the device name that appears under "Network Infrastructure" in Windows 7 shows the original default name that Cisco assigned instead of the name I chose. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a strange problem with my Linksys E1000. When I try to connect wireless, there is a network with an excellent signal, but it has the name "CiscoI1593" and it asks for a password which I don't know. My original network does not appear for some reason when I try to connect wirelessly. I do see my original network name when I use an ethernet cable through the E1000.
It's not possible, where I live, for this "CiscoI1593" network to belong to someone else, it just seemed like it renamed my network to this and also wants some different password.
I think this may be due to something I did. My internet occasionally cuts out and it's usually something wrong with the modem or router, so I typically unplug and press the reset button on both until it begins to work again. This is the first time i've had this problem though, and I have unplugged and pressed the reset button on my router many times.
There is also a button in the middle of the front of the router that looks like a refresh symbol, but I don't really know what it is, pushing it doesn't seem to do anything but make a solidly-on light become blinky.
I tried to add PCI express 1000/100 network card to my Inspiron 620 (ST1000SPEX from StarTech.com). When I power the box, I get no video, either HDMI or VGA. Tried two different cards in all three slots - always the same :-(

Within this package, two processes have been identified which are causing this shock which are “K5L3Unicast Adj Tabl” and “K5 L2 Hardware Addre” .
This indicates that some heavy activity is going on CEF adjacency table and RP MAC Address Table. My current IOS version is 12.2(53)SG
my computer is a dell dimension 1100, with a Linksys WMP54G wifi card, running vista home basic.In the wifi thing in the notification area, it shows two wireless networks, One is my normal SSID (Lower Net), and one is "Unidentified network". They are both on one wireless connection (Wireless Network Connection 3). When i try to go on the internet, it says i'm not connected. i tried disconnecting from the unidentified network, but that disconnects me from lower net too.

They both have the same network name (e.g. the wifi network is named 'apple', and when i connect through ethernet in my room the name is also 'apple') I need to have wifi in my room. Router 1 is main modem router, which is connected to 2 pcs and 2 wif routers (wired separately), both of these wifi routers have there own ip address and dchp turned off, so they work fine and broadcast wifi nicely. now what i want to do is connect another wifi router to one of these routers (not the main one) but what setting do i need? i tried to connect the 3rd wifi router with the same setting as per the other two ie diff ip and dchp off, but when i plugged it into the port of the second router it would not show as connected or get an internet connection. Its probably quite simple to sort out, but with me being a dimwit i am tering my air out. If i could not use a wifi router for this 3rd connection, is there any other way of putting an extra 4 ports on to my second stage router.

Some background first. Last night I went trolling around for a solution to an ip address conflict message I receive when I try to go onto Xbox live via a network bridge on my laptop. What I eventually ended up doing was going into my tp-link wireless router settings (not sure of the exact model number as I am not home right now) and reserving two different ip addresses for my laptop and my Xbox using their MAC addresses. It didn't appear to do anything ( now I think possibly because my Xbox needs the same ip as my laptop?). Anyways I tried to go onto Xbox live and it worked at the start (as it always does) and then 30 minutes in, the ip address conflict message came up (usually meaning a disconnect from Xbox live is imminent). But I actually ended up staying online for another 3 hours until the Internet crashed.
Upon further investigation I noticed that my wireless network was not even showing up on my computer, my phone, or any of my roommates computers. I went upstairs to check the wireless router and it was seemingly working correctly (i.e. no flashing lights or anything). Not quite sure what to do. I would go back and change the router settings but I don't think I can without a connection to it.
Is there a way to be able to check from one computer on a network to another computer on the same network when both have been set up with NAT?
For example, computer 10.0.0.10 cannot ping 10.0.0.20 because NAT has been set up. Port forwarding does not seem to be an answer. Is it possible for NATted computers to be able to ping each other or not?
when i open the network folder i do not see icon of the router. when i was dsl-2641b the icon showing under network infrastructure panel but now i do not see this panel. if i open network and sharing center an then i open "see full map" i see the router icon.

The DHCP server works fine and the clients on my local network gets ip-adresses from the router but can't ping or tracert outside the local network.

I have an EA4500 and am using Cisco Connect Cloud software. Its working mostly fine except that I have one device on the network that will not show up in the device list. This is not an issue in itself and normally I would ignore (although it used to show up when I forst got the router) however..
The device is a WDTVLive media unit and required access to windows shares on a media server. Now the WDTVLive device is server an ip address by the router and is available from everywhere on my network but every couple of days it loses the capacity to search windows shares.
I know what you are thinking and I initially thought the same, this is an issue with the WDTVLive box. However one day I spent a few hours trying to resolve (Am an IT Consultant and know a little about networks) and found that I could not fix the issue. I then rebooted the router and it started working. I have since confirmed that every time it breaks I have to reboot the router.
My router usb storege was working fine with my old videos and streaming fine too but now im putting some new videos on the usb storage my router its not showing the new videos on the usb storage.
