I have 13 fixed IP addresses. I don't speak cisco, so I'm using the built in interface to configure it.If i choose IPoA I can enter the IP settings. If I choose PPPoA I can enter the username and password.I do not see anyway I can enter both the IP settings and the username + password on the WAN configuration page.

But in the new oneRV042 (V3) I have, even with latest firmware 4.2.1.02 the list is random, thereby increasing the chance of user entering DUPLICATE IP addr with diff Mac addr. That will result in conflict. If the firmware sorts the DHCP entries by ip addresses, user would be able to catch duplicate ip errors even if the system does not flag the errors. All Cisco smart engineers can you all get the dhcp entries SORT by ip addresses.

I ran ipconfig to get the adapter IP (screenshot attached/192.168.2.104). When I type the IP into the browser I get the "cannot display webpage" msg. I have tried turning off the power to the router, disabling Norton's firewall (I disabled Norton completely), and nothing works. - Transfer files between devices
I have had a WRV200 wireless router running at the family office now for a several years now and recently I was made aware of an issue with the router. Previously it's function was to provide internet access for the laptops at the office and two workstations. It was a simple set up really, 1 SSID was for the work computers that were allowed on the internet and another SSID for personal and quest wireless devices and I made sure they were in seperate VLANs. This issue came into light after our office moved and with some new upgrades in networking equipment it was deemed safe enough to have the other computers on my wireless router.
What is happening is that all the computers will have a momentary drop of connectivity and will re-establish it's connection to the wireless router. I check the event viewer and it's the same thing accross the board. I'll have several DHCP warings specifically event ID 1003 and finally DHCP error 1000 almost 30 minutes after the first warning. From the looks of it there is something going on with the DHCP addresses about to expire and the systems are having issues trying to get it renewed. The error will happen then the computer will restore the connection.
I have it isolated to the WRV200 because of two reasons. Every machine is having this issue, it's not a random occurance on one computer. The big clue was when I checked Event viewer on my Marketing Director's laptop. These same errors were present all the way back to May which was before the office move and the router was provide access for our laptops to get online. There was no other networking equipment connected to it except for the Clearwire modem.
Between May and now the router has been reconfigured from scratch. New SSIDs, redid the internal IP addressing network wide to incorporate the new computers and would be easier to manage them that way. All wired devices go through a 16 port switch and then through port 1 on the router. Port 1 is on VLAN 1 and the others on VLAN 5. The 3 SSIDS are each on their own seperate VLANs. All systems are on DHCP and the important computers and the printers I am using Static DHCP. In the mean time I set all the important machines to use an alternate IP addressing scheme so hopefully there is no drop in conenctivity. While the drop is minor it could cause issues in the program called SLS (especially during printing) so I can not have this issue to continue. Configuration wise everything is defualt, is there something to change in the configuration settings that I may have missed twice now or the router simply near the end of it's life cycle.

I need to keep the networks totaly separate and the only thing they would have in common is the Cisco SRP-521W.It should also be noted that the SRP-521W Is being used because the ADSL service is only temporary whilst the Fibre Build is completed and the carrier provides an Ethernet Hand-Off, then the Internet service will change to this type of presentation and the ADSL router will be relegated to the dark world of loneliness.I have gone through the router and have been playing around with the settings, the issue Is I have nothing in the LAB work up that can allow me to replicate this environment and test it before deployment... So, how to reduce the amount of trail and error I have to encounter to get it to work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI work for a company that recently upgraded to a Cisco RVS4000 router in place of a failing D-Link router. I configured the RVS4000 to utilize the same address space as the D-Link previously did (192.168.0.0 Network Address, 255.255.255.0 Subnet Mask, RVS4000 in Gateway Mode with IP Address 192.168.0.1, DHCP Scope from 192.168.0.101 - 200 managed by the RVS4000) before installing it on the network. I powered down the D-Link as well as the cable modem, then all of the workstations in the office. Then, I installed the RVS4000, powered up the cable modem, and once it was ready, powered on the RVS4000.
When devices connect, the RVS4000 is assigning them an IP address in the 192.168.1.0/24 subnet, instead of the 192.168.0.0/24 subnet. I have verified that the RVS4000's GUI is showing the correct settings, but connected devices are not picking up addresses from the correct address pool. In troubleshooting, I went to each workstation, released and renewed their IP addresses, and they picked up addresses in the correct subnet. I thought everything was solved, but the next day, the same problem resurfaced.
I left the DHCP lease time at the defaul value "0", which according to the unit's documentation should correspond to a 24-hour lease period. I suspect this is why I had to renew the clients' IP addresses the next day (today), but I still don't get why the RVS4000 wants to give out addresses in the 192.168.1.0/24 scope. Could this be a holdover from the factory settings?
Additional Information: I did not set up any VLANs on the network and the office only requires one subnet as there are not a lot of devices connected, nor do we need the traffic segragated. The VPN functions of the RVS4000 work fine. Using the QuickVPN utility, I can access the network and resources on the network remotely without issue.
If there are any small business routers that offer one-to-one NAT? I have several public IP addresses assigned to me by CenturyLink. I have two servers that provide email and web hosting for two different domains. I want to put the client machines on one VLAN (VLAN Z) and assign it a public IP address (to keep server traffic separate). I want to put each server on its own VLAN (VLANs X & Y) and assign each server its own public IP address. I need the router to be able to provide a firewall and port forwarding for each VLAN. I also need to be able to route traffic between VLANs so the clients on VLAN Z can access their email and the websites on VLANs X and Y. I also need to be able to route DNS traffic between VLANs so each server can provide name resolution for their respective domains.
So, is this possible with a small business router or do I need to look at something different? I'm fairly certain this configuration is not possible with my current Cisco RVS4000. What it boils down to is I need a router that is capable of having multiple public IP addresses on the same interface and to forward those public addresses to private VLAN subnets. This would be one-to-one NAT if I understand it correctly..
I am wondering how I log into the router and block particular IP addresses to include especially Facebook. I have a N Wireless Router F5D8233-4. Is there a way to figure out a site IP address if you open up there website.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have just setup a new RV042G firewall. The customer has multiple public IP addresses and we need to allow RDP access for at least 2 of the Public IP addresses. I only see a way to open ports for the one IP assisgned to the WAN. How can we setup multiple IP addresses on this firewall?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI currently have the following network structure, which work fine:
The only bandwidth management configuration I did in the Cisco E1000 router is to set the QOS, giving high priority to the 5 SIP Phones mac addresses.
The problem: I purchased a Small Business Cisco router RV016 because the company keep expanding so they will add more SIP Phones and PCs. In the new router configurations, there is no way to do like I did on the E1000 I just want to be able to set high priority to the SIP Phones mac addresses.
What happens when I use the new router (RV016) is that, sometime you dial a number and the phone do a busy signal and indicate "Call failed" or sometime people call in and there is only 3 phones ringing.
I tried port forwarding.. disabling firewall.. SPI.. I tried access rule.. whatever I do doesn't fix the issue.
When I put the Cisco E1000 back everything goes well.

If the devices are using static IP addresses and not getting them from the DHCP server they do not show in the Client Table under DHCP Status.
If they are know MAC addreses because they have been assigned to static IPs on the DHCP setup screen they will not show up in the Uknown MAC Addresses pop up window.

From what i am reading, it looks like the RV042 can do this, but I am not real clear what my rules should look like.
I would think my high priority rule for each external IP address would be to deny all traffic first for each machine on the lan. Then create one entry with source 202.x.x.2 port 80 -> 192.168.168.2 ?
How should I set my rules to do this, and what settings should I have on the Nic of the second machine?
