i have Aztech DSL605EW wireless modem. I updated its firmware on some philipines Globle Broadband network's firmware. Now the problem is to open its configration I have to use 192.168.254.254 IP and the configuration settings are very limited and there is no option of updating firmware in it. I am stuck with it.

It was not like that before but it happened more frequently now. What I did was to power off then on the modem and the router and everything will work fine again. However, I found something strange while updating the firmware, that made me stop, in order to ask the question.
Previously, when I did an update, I would browse for the location, and put it in, and it would allow me to update from that location.
Now, it will allow it, but when I select to update from the desktop (C:usersderickdesktop),
it comes up with another location (C:fakepath) for the .bin file.

My DIR-655 stopped working after updating firmware to 3.35. Only power light comes on. port4 flashes for a microsecond when I plug it in. Recovery mode has not done anything. Computer acts like nothing is connected through Ethernet, says "No Cable Connected." Only power light stays on the whole time. I am guessing this thing is broken now. when i go through ipconfig, "no media connected." If not whats a good router under a hundred bucks today, had this router since early 2007.

After a while though, I noticed my Nexus One phone wasn't getting internet through WiFi anymore. It is connected to WiFi still, and it can ping the other devices on the network but it won't connect to the web. I have a Xoom tablet connected to WiFi as well and it is getting access to the web, though it seems to drop web access from time to time too, even before the firmware update. My phone always had a connection to the web through WiFi before the update. The two PCs that have a wired connection work fine. In the router logs, I also noticed that "UPnP renew entry 255.255.255.255 <-> ... UDP timeout:0 'Teredo'" being spammed over and over since the update, which I read has something to do with IPv6?

I reset the access point and connected it directly to my computer with a patch cable, then entered the default IP address (192.168.1.245) to attempt to access the device. No go. Is that supposed to work and something is wrong with it? All I want to do is update the firmware, because if the device has been reset and the firmware reinstalled and it's still not working, then we'll just deem it defective and have it replaced.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a Cisco rv220w. I just tried updating the firmware. I used RV220W-Firmware-1.0.3.5.img. It rebooted, and now there is no DHCP and no access to anything. I tried the reset button for 10 seconds. That didn't do anything. The WAN and all the LAN lights light up. Power is on and solid. The light blinks alternating between the DMZ and the blank space to the right of wireless. How can I get this back to factory defaults?

Now i can't connect to the interent at all with either of my two wired computers or through the wireless. All the lights on the front of the router are on like the power, internet, and wireless connectivity. Also the the two WAN ports my computers are connected to in the router the lights are on and it's recognising them. But I can't connect to the internet or even see the router on my network settings. I am trying to configure Cisco SG300-52 switch for the first time and stuck without CLI configuration option. The configuration can be done using GUI, however, configuring using CLI would be more comfortable (as I am used to work with CLI of other Cisco switches)..
I was able to lo gin to switch using SSH, but the CLI appears in MENU format and was not able to find any way to go to CLI mode.
As per some blogs, in SG300 switches CLI mode can be accessed using Ctrl + Z in Menu, which did not work either in my case.
Switch is running with latest firmware version Sx300 Firmware Version 1.2.7.76.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a linksys router(befsr41 v3) with the latest firmware(1.05.00) - i have been using it for at least 7 or 8 years now - at one time i had 3 computers hooked up and they all three worked fine. Now i have 2 plugged into the router - both are xppro machines - the one i am on now works with no problems. The other computer however has the limited or no connectivity problem.I used this router for years without any problems then one day this ip conflict message started to appear.
I started getting this ip conflict message on both computers but only occasionaly - it never caused any problems - if you ignored it - it would simply go away.Then one day computer #2 got the limited or no connectivity message - i simple reboot fixed it. This solution worked several times. Computer #1 has never had any problems with the internet connection.Sometime later the limited or no connectivity problem reappeared and this time a reboot did not work - i searched for a fix and decided to try changing the link speed from auto sense to 10mb half duplex - this solved the problem. This solution worked several times.
Sometime after that the limited or no connectivity reappeared and after some searching i upgraded the routers firmware - this solved the problem.Sometime later the limited or no connectivity reappeared and this time i had to actually uninstall the NIC, reboot and then let it redetect the NIC and then the problem was fixed. This solution worked several times.Sometime later (wich brings us to 3 or 4 months ago) the limited or no connectivity reappeared and this time after searching for a fix i was able to fix it by updating the NIC drivers. Problem solved.
This brings us to now - the limited or no connectivity has reappeared and none of the previous fixes correct the problem.When i originally set everything up it worked immediately out of the box.DHCP is enabled - everything is set to obtain an ip address automatically.At first the event viewer on computer #2 reported The IP address lease 192.168.1.100 for the Network Card with network address 0xxxxxxxxx has been denied by the DHCP server 192.168.1.1. {The DHCP Server sent a DHCPNACK message}.
Now the even viewer just tells me it is using ip address 169.254.xxxxxx
I have tried all of the previous fixes to no avail. I've tried shutting everything off and turning everything back on - i've tried resetting both the modem and the router - i've tried upgrading the firmware again. I even downloaded LELA and installed it on both computers thinking maybe it would detect and fix the problem buy no such luck. LELA simply tells me that computer #1 is working normally. On computer #2 when i installed LELA the first thing it did was try to find the router and it tells me it cannot find it.
I tried uninstalling the NIC and removing the drivers, rebooting and then reinstalling them. No luck.
I tried setting a static ip on computer #2 with no luck. When i did these two error messages appeared in the event viewer of computer #1---

The name "MSHOME:1d" could not be registered on the Interface with IP address 192.168.1.100. The machine with the IP address 192.168.1.20 did not allow the name to be claimed by this machine.
If I ping the router from computer #2 it comes back 100% loss.
If I ping the NIC it comes back 0% loss.
I might also add that I can see both computer #1 and #2 in my home network workgroup on both computers. I've tried ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew - I've tried it one after the other and also a reboot in between. I've tried clicking on repair in the LAN status - I've tried resetting the ip stack with the netsh command - I've even tried different cables and switching ports on the router.
I have a Linksys E3000 router, which originally had all sorts of security settings, and names for the wireless networks, etc. It was all set up. I upgraded the firmware, and all of those settings sent away. Is there a way to reconfigure the settings to get them back to how they were, and if so, how do I do it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just flashed this router with DD-WRT about a week ago inside the webui that was provided. It all went well but I wanted to go back to the original factory firmware so turned it off for 20 seconds, and held the reset button for 10 seconds to reach the emergency-room. I re-flashed it with the firmware I got from d-links website and all went well. So I tried to go to 192.168.0.1 that did not work so I tried the ip that I gave it before it was flashed and it still remained x.x.x.254. I also turned off dhcp server since my isp's modem provides that and other services. But when I looked into the logs it would keep starting up dhcp server every minute which would lead to all kinds of problems.
Edit: The ip/subnet are set to 192.168.0.1/255.255.255.0. It seems to start this as soon as dhcp is disabled.

I currently have this router in use with verizon dsl (PPPoe) setup.I have this set to "always on". Since the verizon modem, which is also router has been set into bridge mode and the d-link came into play its been extremely slow, and dropping connection. The router is in a separate IP class, and has no conflict with the modem. My question is, if I upgrade this firmware from 1.0 to 1.02 will it default to factory settings? I know it says only some will. I do have the backup config file, but i would be doing this remotely, and would not be able to get to this router if it goes down. Has anyone gone from 1.0 to 1.2 and saw a difference and speed, and are you able to do this without losing settings.

Luckily, the Wizard still works and can be used to set the Wireless settings for general purpose use. Older versions of the firmware worked fine with other browsers, including the Wireless settings page.
