Have a look at the diagram showing my router/modem setup here:I'm not sure the proper terminology or how to say this but I would like Router A to broadcast 1 IP and and Router B to broadcast another.For "business" reasons I need my "normal" IP on router A and for "pleasure" reasons, I want to have different DNS on router b.I'm in canada and I'm using a DNS service to make it appear like I'm from the US.

I can't even watch youtube videos with just one laptop connected because the ads take 5 minutes to load. Is this normal behavior for this router? Do I need to upgrade to be able to Skype?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am about a level 4 maybe (10 being highest) when it comes to network configuration.I know what a router is, an IP addreess (external ones from ISP that is) and how to get around a little bit like how to access wireless config , edit properties on network connections and run ipconfig..My setup....I have a cable modem with 18mbs line...hooked into a Linksys E1000 wireless (N) router.From that I have 3 laptops setup (and a desktop thats never used).(none of whats next may be important but added it just in case)
Laptop a. is hardlined into wireless router (so I can edit config) and will be main machine it runs Vista
Laptop b. is connected to wirless connection from router and will main #2
Laptop c. is connected to wireless router
Desktop is connected to wireless router
(all others above run XP as OS)
My wife is running some webcam software that uses our internal IP address for its connection.It is no problem for her to connect her cam to the site with one laptop (any of the above) but when she tries to go to laptop b. and run another connection it says "You are currently broadcasting From This IP and cannot start another connection".
p.s. We have also tested bandwidth connection over and over on many sites (via browser) and it seems that when a cam is setup and the bandwidth is displayed what comes from / to the cam is WAYY slower than what we get in our tests...
We have a RV042. We have a Debian server on the network. I have activated Enable Syslog on the RV042 router and pointed to the Debian Server IP.
Where are the logs for the Router saved on the Debian Server?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy boss is asking me to write a batch file or use a utility to monitor the uptime of 16 different ISP accounts that we use across several stores. Most stores have several ISP accounts setup as failover, so they're not always active on our network but the ISP should still be up. He would like this to run from one of our servers. He is suggesting the 'gateway' for the ISP however I am not sure how to find this IP. The tracert utility returns IP addresses which are different than the gateway address in our router settings so I am wary to use those IPs.Which IPs would I ping to monitor the uptime and where would be the best place to find them?

Are location services turned on on the device." I have checked on my ipad and location services are on, on everything. I had no problem with the other router I had. I also have a Sprint Airave connected to my internet, but again i had no problem with the other router. The router is definitely faster than my old one and set up was easy but its very frustrating to not be able to find my location.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 655 and two TVs. One is connected to my network by a Samsung 5700 Blu Ray player, and the other is connected by x box. The x box is 20 ft away from my router and the Blue Ray is about 60 away with one wall between. The x box pulls movies down and plays them no problem, and Blue Ray takes about a minute for loading the moving, will start playing but them pauses several times throughtout the movie showing the loading sign on screen.

I have been using handbrake to convert both blu-ray and DVD movies to MP4 videos with AAC audio and I have been getting strange results. If I convert a blu-ray movie to MP4 with a DTS audio track down mixed to Dolby Pro Logic II AAC then I can play the movie and I am able to fast forward and rewind. If I convert the same movie but convert the audio in any other way, AC3 pass through etc., the video will play but I will not be able to fast forward or rewind.

So I had to revert to my old Linksys router BEFSR41 from 8 years ago. This one works fine with MMS streams.
