Belkin F7D4302 will not connect to ISP if I try to manually set DNS entry. Once I attempt this I have to reset the router back to factory defaults before the router will connect with ISP

View 3 Replies View RelatedI can not fix the problem with the router. I power it up, all is GREEN, then it blinks RED, then GREEN, and finally RED. The router is terminally not connected to the Internet. How can I check if the router is BAD. I have done all the troubleshooting, examples:
connected ethernet directly to computer - no problems
attempted to fix problems via belkin software
changed channels on modem
updated firmware
etc, etc
N600 DB on OSX. I keep on reading the material that there is a link on the dashboard that I click on to set up the router manually. Nowhere on the dash board is that link. Where is that link?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Belkin Play N300 (part number = F7D4302) wireless router, and I want to connect my (soon-to-be-pole-mounted) 12DBI omnidirectional antenna to it, the goal is better wireless access in one area of a church camp. I have a couple of U.lf - RP-SMA pigtails on the way, because of course the router doesn't have an external antenna connection.
I opened up the router case, and below is a shot of the board. There's plenty of room inside the case. The router is dual-band (2.4 and 5ghz), and uses 2 internal antennae, apparently it senses the better one and uses it as needed.
My plan is to disconnect one antenna, and connect/solder my external antenna pigtail in its place. I'm a fair hand at soldering, but very little practice de-soldering...
1. Is disconnecting / replacing one antenna the way to go, and if so, which one? Or should I leave them both connected and piggyback my external onto one of them (soldering the leads on top of existing connections), or disconnect both antennae, or does it matter?
2. Which set of wires, white or black, are used for which band - and should I connect to? I assume I'd want to hook up to the 2.4ghz, correct?
The white wires come out from the tiny Broadcom chip, I think it's marked BCM43224KMLG (dang, that's some tiny print!). This page leads me to think that these are the 5ghz antenna leads, but I'd llike to be positive before I start cutting.
The black wires appear to feed from the larger Broadcom chip marked BCM4718A1KFBG. Again, this page leads me to think that this is the 2.4ghz antenna.
3. Assuming that the black wires are the ones I want, would it be ok to cut one really close to the board end, cut the U.fl connector off of my pigtail, prep the wire / shielding, and solder the wire / shielding on top of the existing solder connection?
I've found an issue with my SRP527W that is prohibiting me setting up a useful site to site VPN. In short, the "Enable ID: Default/Manual" option in the IKE policy screen does not seem to behave as advertised. Not matter what it's set to the remote end always ends up receiving the IP address of the DSL interface as its peer id.
The scenario is an SRP527W with a dynamically assigned DSL IP address connecting to a Netscreen SSG5 on a static IP. I have confirmed that:
- A Main Mode VPN works (but is no use on an ongoing basis due to the dynamic IP)
- An aggressive mode VPN works if the Netscreen has its peer ID set to the public IP of the SRP (....same dynamic IP issue)
However if I try to set a manual Remote ID in the SRP IKE Policy it does not get sent as part of the phase 1 negotiations. Debug logs on the Netscreen shows that it receives the DSL public IP no matter what.
Dumping the router config to XML [URL] shows no sign of the IP address that has been set via the interface (despite the setting visibly staying set in the interface). The rest of the VPN config shows up there.

we use RV082 as main gateway and need to open/forward around 50 ports to inside. But during setting of the rules I got an error message "The max of Port Range Forwarding is 30 entries. You can't add any more.".
In the online help is explicitely said "4. Click the Add to List button, and configure as many entries as you would like."
How can we setup more than 30 port forwarding rules ?
(F5D9230-4 v5111 Belkin mimo router ) is version 5.02.08 the most up to date firmware for my router?

I need to manually set the IP of my internet providers DNS server or else, URL's can't be resolved. I'm pretty sure that the Router/Gateway is set up correctly as the status page of the router does show both the primary and secondary DNS servers IP addresses. Both have been automatically detected by the router.On my different devices, if I leave the DNS IP to be automatically detected, they will use the Routers IP as their DNS server IP (e.g. 192.168.1.1), which is the way it should be I'd think. However, trying to access (in browser or through ping or whatever) any URL, it just won't work. I need to manually enter the DNS's IP in the device.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a acer aspire 5741 with win7 and i5. i have no problems once i am connected to my network, the problem is the acer will only connect when i do it manually.i have changed the adapter settings to connect automatically numerous times but when i reboot, the settings always change back to connect manually. i have tried other networks but the acer will only connect manually. like i said, once connected it works fine it just will not do it automatically.

After the disc reformat and reload of XP from the operating system CD, and then loading the drivers CD, I cannot connect to the internet. The plug for the ethernet cable is red/yellow on two different jacks in the house. The modem is supplied by ATT U-verse. The TCP/IP is connected at 400 Mb/s but showing "0" data transfer in or out. The orange light turns blue. Even though the light indicates that my wireless is on, I have to go to device manager>networking>802.11n>advanced then activate my radio for my laptop to pick up the wireless signals. The problem is that I have to do this every time I turn on my laptop, and its getting quite repetitive.
