I've finally gone and done it. I phoned up aol and requested my MAC code. With my new ISP ( possibly ZEN ) if I keep my existing netgear router, can I keep my wireless connection settings the same i.e. network name, wep key etc.If, on the other hand I get Zen's router which is pre configured, I would need to set up the wireless again. Could I still use the same network name and wep key, or would I have to chose new ones.
We are upgrading our dsl to cable. We have a cisco 877 router/dsl modem and windows sbs 2003 r2. May I know how do I change the ip addresses in the router, and how do I add a cable modem to the router?
Modem/router mac address changer .. i have globe wimax bm622i model, that needs to be change its mac address, hardly to find a right software, so i decide to manually config and do it by ms-dos commands, any related command for dos to change mac address of globe-wimax-bm622i-model.
At my home I have a Westell 6100 DSL modem connected to a computer.AT&T is the ISP and all filters are installed.I use my home computer via VNC applications from a remote location and I began to notice that the VNC local client session was being lost,,,over and over.It was discovered that the WAN IP was changing over and over and happens about once every 5-10 minutes,,,or so. While I have a dynamic WAN IP from ATT, I would not expect the WAN IP to change as often as 7-8 (or more) times a day. At first I thought it was ATT changing my DYNAMIC WAN IP.But, a review of the Westell log file is reporting lost connection(s),,,,,etc, etc,,,,,etc. over and over.Below is a list of the Westell log information showing several hours of behavior. The Westell diagnotics that were run and the SELF test run as expected.Looks like the DSL modem is going bad, a filter is bad, or the line is going bad and needs to be balanced,,,,etc..

Recently i have to change my modem (lightning struck) which of course, done by my ISP worker. The problem is, since then, I've been getting the "DNS lookup failed" error message constantly while using Google Chrome. Or sometimes the "This web page is not available - The connection to [URL] was interrupted".I have to refresh the search once or twice to get to the site, which is very annoying. I tried surfing on my friend's laptop, using the same wireless connection and it seemed to work fine. This problem only occurred on MY laptop. One more thing is, the connection doesn't seem to go wrong because i could play online game with no trouble like lagging or disconnection whatsoever. (Starcraft)

I am in a problem, my modem gets hacked everyday, such that many of the sites do not open and only "http://212.113.36.83/" opens instead of sites like yahho.com, sify.com. I checked on internet many people are facing such issue.Only thing I can do to resolve this is to reset my modem, but still this gets hacked even on changing my password.I am not able to understand how is it possible to modify the settings of modem when I have changed the password.Modem Model: Beetel 220BX.
I am trying to add the E3000 to my existing network to provide Wireless Connectivity for my users. The main router is a RouteFinder SOHO VPN (RF560). The RouteFinder acts as a gateway and provides DHCP. I do not want to change it's role or settings. When I added the E3000 using a Lan-to-Lan connection to the RouteFinder, all users lost access to the internet. As a quick fix as I was working on something else at the time, I just unplugged the E3000. Now I am reading through Article 3733 that I was originally referred to and that has me changing the settings on the RouteFinder which I do not want to do. Is there any way to accomplish adding this to my network without changing anything on the RouteFinder at all??? By the way...I am located in another state than this router and network. I can call and have someone plug and unplug stuff but all of the configuration has to be done remotely.
I am connected to a static ip network. This network sets local ips to connected computers but general ip is the same: static ip of network. When i go to "whatismyipaddress", I can see this static ip. I want to change my ip address. I have no chance to use proxy server or router connection. Is there a way to change my ip address? (Because some sites ban ip address, ex:rapidshare etc. and I need to change my ip)
[CODE]My current problem is the internet just isnt working right. It is slow, choppy at times or doesnt load all items on a page. If it doesn load a page sometimes I click on the stop X, followed by refresh and the page pops right upSometimes if I dont get a complete page a refresh will fix it. It is just a pain to work with. There is an Network Connection icon in the right corner of the task bar. It is two small blue screens. It keeps changing from a red x, an exclamation point, and three blue balls or nothing. If I rest on the icon it flashes the status of the network:[CODE]
I had a disaster occur on my "guest" OS within VMware-Player. I had to start over from scratch! I am back in business, except for having the virtual machine recognized by my existing wireless network. The other two computers still communicate.I went through the wireless setup routine for the new VM. A new "ID" was assigned. Obviously, this is different from the one currently in use on the network. I have the settings info on a flash drive. Can I simply insert the FD in the other two computers and have the new ID replace the existing one?
I have two separate wireless networks in my house, one of them is for sharing my NAS data and the other is for Internet.problem is when I connect to the NAS network and after that I change my network to the other network, I can not connect to the internet ( I can connect to the wireless). Just after restarting I can see the Internet
I have a list of servers that will be migrated from one subnet to another. Is there a script that can take my file that has the server name and the new IP address and modify the existing servers' network from the list? I want to place the script on the servers before I am ready to change subnets for preparation.
Im having some problems changing my admin password on my DCS920
I know the default login is Login: admin / Password: "blank"
So I go into maintence, and there's an option to change the password.
it lists:
old password newpassword confirm
So I leave the old password blank and type in my new password in the following 2 spaces. I click apply and a window pops up asking me to enter username and password. I just enter admin and leave the password blank. I hit ok, and everything seems to update ok. So i log out, and try to log back in.
A window pops up asking me for my password. I type in admin for my username, and my new password, and it wont work
I type leaving the username blank, and type in new password... WONT WORK
I type admin, and new password again.. WONT WORK
I try password with first letter capital.. WONT WORK
I try password with ALL CAPS... WONT WORK..
Basically it wont let me log in as admin anymore. I figure I may have typed the password wrong the first time so I reset the camera and try the process again.. SAME PROBLEM.
Am I doing something wrong in changing my password ?
I dont wanna leave my default admin login as admin/"blank" , but when I try and change the password, it wont let me log in again as admin.
so yesterday I went out and bought a new Cisco Linksys E4200v2 router. My ISP is Communicomm (terrible, but they're the only one here). I also have a Terayon TJ 715x cable modem. I shut down pc & cable modem, connected everything, and powered back up. I am able to access the router config page at 192.168.1.1, but the router does not receive an ip address from the modem. If I plug the modem directly to the pc, I get an ip and am able to connect to the internet. I have called my ISP several times, and they tell me that they do not use MAC address filtering. The only MAC address that they need is that of the modem, which they have. This modem has been working fine for several years. After spending over an hour on the phone with Linksys support, they have determined that the router is functioning properly.I also tried hooking up an older netgear router and got the same results. The following is my ipconfig with the modem connected directly to the pc. [CODE]
I have a pc running windows 7 connected to a broadband modem. From that modem I have a LAN cable running to another building plugging into a wifi router. I have 2 pcs running xp plugged into this wifi router. (they can see each other)Is it possible for the 3 pcs to see each other on the network? The only way I got it to work was if all pcs were connected to the same modem. However to save running super long cables for each pc I want to run just one between the modems and then plug all pcs into that wifi modem which is close to everything.
I have a wireless modem on the first floor of my house, where I got cables through the wall running throughout rooms in first floor, ground floor and basement.I have my small business at the basement, so I have 2 PCs one printer and one external hard disc which also connects directly to a modem/router.I have 3 PCs from the first and ground floor that connect through the wall to my modem, and everything works well. But for my basement, which only has 1 lan cable output on the wall, I got myself a router so that I can connect all my devices.I connect the router with my modem, and then the PCs, printer and hard disc on the router. The PCs have internet access, so I know the connection to the modem has nothing wrong to it. But I am not able to access the PCs connected to the router from the PCs connected to the modem, or vice versa.
I was told to not obtain an IP address automatically, so I assigned my modem and router to work on 192.168.10.x and gave my PCs IPs such as 192.168.10.19 Only after setting this up did all my PCs have internet access, but again, no network communication between PCs on modem and PCs on router. One thing that might be worth mentioning, is that through time, my network keeps going from Home Network: Network, to Network 2, Network 3, and so on... now it's on Network 5. I have no clue why this happens, and if it's related to my problem
I have a DSL model from AT&T that gives me 4 ports and I have a Belkin Wireless router that gives me another 4 ports. BUT, the computers on the AT&T modem cannot see the computers on the Belkin router. Should I set the address in the Belkin router to the one the AT&T modem has?
I'm having trouble connecting my 02 dongle to the internet using my router. My router is a TP-LINK MR3420 and my 02 modem device is E1752. I checked to see if the modem is compatible and it says it is. I went through the configuration that was given to me with the router and I tried using you tube but nothing. Do i need to get a static I.P address off my Internet provider? If I plug my 02 usb dongle directly into my computer it works perfectly and I got the router to work using a ethernet cable and plugging it into the WAN port at the back of the router but I would prefer to let it connect through the 3g port. I get a connection at 40% and 100 bytes are sent and some are received but the connection drops. Is it a problem with the connection? I will upload a image.
I have a Belkin F5D 8633-4 wireless modem/router which also has ports for wired connections. Would like to network the 3 PCs that currently use it for internet to be able to share printers. 2 are XP Home and 1 is XP pro. XP pro is the wireless the other 2 are wired.Tried the Wizard on XP pro but could not get it to work. Ideally I would like all 3 PCs to be able to access either of the 2 printers that I have but if I could do it with 2 of the PCs that would be OK.
I am new to setting up wireless router connections. I used to get internet from my neighbor using my Dell wireless 1450 adaptor Model D1450U. That neighbor has left the area so I went and got my own modem and wireless router. I have a Netgear WNDR3400 wireless router and a zoom 5341G modem. I set up the cable connection and everything is working fine with my roommate's new Dell XPS laptop. I am having problems even detecting my main connection (Home 1) using my desktop computer and the dell wireless 1450 adaptor. My dell adapter does not locate the network I created, but it can find the 5g and the "(Home 1 guest)" networks that I create, however it can not connect to them. I made sure I was typing in the correct passwords, but it still can not seem to connect.
We have a Comcast business class cable modem with a static IP address. There are two devices hardwired to it; a server and a Linksys WRT610N, The server is hardwired to it with port forwarding set for ports 21, 80 and 5900. It works perfectly and can be reached as intended by the outside world but not by our own network. Our Linksys WRT610N is hardwired to the modem. All computers on the wireless network see each other and can access the internet perfectly. So all seems well enough. BUT, no computer on our network can reach our server. Using the domain name or VNC connections from inside our system results in time outs and no connection.
Basically what is happening is I have a fiber decoder whitch goes into My belkin modem which controls my phone and Internet and with the company I am with we need that modem, I also have a netgear router so I can have wireless through my house but I want to plug LAN into the belkin router and still use the netgear for transmitting wireless. In short I want LAN in belkin but still have the netgear transmitting wireless and everything on the same network,E.g I have a pioneer amp and I use the iPhone app icontrol over my wireless but I can't because the amp is plugged into the belkin and the app is using netgear.
I have two netgear wireless modem / router. I want to connect my internet, NAS and Media player on one device (netgear modem/router) and want to link the other netgear in my bedroom and connect another media player and also use the internet via primary netgear modem/router wireless connectivity.
I'm running Arch Linux on an Acer laptop and my wirless connection doesn't stay up. After a while it disconnects, and when I try to reconnect I get stuck with a "Waiting for authorization" message. I have to retry several times before getting the connection stay up for few minutes. This happens with both networkmanager and wicd. The strange thing is that the iMac that sits next to the laptop connects fine, and when I use my laptop within the university wireless network it works normally.
Every so often (random amounts of time) my internet setting either on the router or pc change and then I it comes up with an error that my settings aren't the same as my router... I use a Orange Live box and windows 7. also when I want to sign into games for windows that sometime crashes the internet and on DOW2 and minecraft.
I am trying to configure a router with a satellite connection. I am following a HughesNet guidline. At step four after typing in the required IP address , nothing happens. There is no place to type user name and password.
Lately I've been experiencing connection problems between my router and cable modem. Every night after 11:00 PM EST, my Internet connection sporadically goes out. I called my ISP who said there was nothing wrong on their end. Plugging directly into my modem allows me to access the Internet. When I wake up in the morning, the connection is back until 11 or later again. I ran WireShark but I'm not sure what to be looking for. There are a lot of random things from the LLMNR protocol like standard query A zmtvrjaql.
