We are changing ISPs soon and we will be getting a new block of public IPs where do I even start to plan the migration and how? Can I overlap somehow and do a slow migration or must I do it in one big swoop?

View 1 Replies View RelatedLast night we upgraded one of our offices 3560 (WS-C3560-24PS) to 12.2(55) SE6. With these switches, NTP is no longer working. The NTP server is a router at this office. Switches at this office that were not upgraded (3750) are getting NTP normally. Below is a copy of the show ntp association and show ntp status. I have removed the ntp lines from the switch configuration and re-added them, and that has not changed anything.

I tried updating my firmware of my DIR-655 from 1.34NA to 1.35NA (Hardware Version: A1/A2).
However, I found something strange while updating the firmware, that made me stop, in order to ask the question.
Previously, when I did an update, I would browse for the location, and put it in, and it would allow me to update from that location.
Now, it will allow it, but when I select to update from the desktop (C:usersderickdesktop),
it comes up with another location (C:fakepath) for the .bin file.
How do I check to see if my firmware needs updating? I want to connect it to a motorola 2210-02.

We have a large number of users > 1000 that need to be added into the system and I don't want to do this manually. View 3 Replies View RelatedI purchased 2 RV042's (h/w version 3) less than two months ago. I updated them to the latest firmware (v4.0.4.02-tm (Jul 4 2011 13:30:56)), did a factory reset to make sure I was working with a clean slate, set up DDNS through DynDNS and a site to site VPN between the two. Everything was working great for a month, then the DynDNS accounts expired because they weren't being updated. I reactivated the names on the DynDNS site, and started to monitor the "last updated" date and time. After 24 hours there were no updates according to the DynDNS site. I logged into one of the RV042's, and it said "Dyndns Enabled : Dynamic DNS is updated successfully." This is a stale message from 24 hours ago when I hit save. So I went into Setup | Dynamic DNS | Edit Config and there it also says "Dynamic DNS is updated successfully." I clicked "Save", status changed to " Dyndns Enabled : Updating..." for a few seconds, and then back to "Dyndns Enabled : Dynamic DNS is updated successfully". I refreshed the DynDNS website and it shows the current time (in eastern time, i'm pacfic) as the last time it was updated. So it works when I manually hit the "Save" button. Not making any changed, just hitting "Save". I've let the other RV042 go over 48 hours and it still hasn't updated. So it apears for the time being, I'll have to remember to push the "Save" button once a week to prevent my DynDNS accout from expiring. Does DDNS working in the lastest firmware and h/w version 3? If so, what is the update frequency?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have two of the Wrvs 4400n V2 VPN (V2.0.2.1-ETSI) routers in different countries, one in the UK and one in Australia. They are permanently linked using the IPSec VPN tunnel and the dynamic DNS feature (DynDNS.org). I have found that the router in the UK does not update its IP address automatically to the dns website when the UK Internet service provider changes the WAN IP of this router. This makes the IPSEC tunnel go down until I telephone the UK location and ask to force the router to update its IP address with dyndns by restarting it or by using the routers configuration to re-save the password for dynamic dns.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to put a link on our Intranet page to several documents that are updated daily by specific users. These users save the documents in their department folders, which are only acessible by their department and I.T. (me). Right now I have a .bat file that checks every half hour of the work day to see if it has been updated, if it has it will be moved to a location in the Intranet folder which will update the link on the Intranet. While users can view the Intranet, they do not have access to view the files or folders that house the Intranet html coding etc.This option works but our users are complaining that it isn't instantaneous. Any ideas how I can do this on a network while keeping everyone's security in place and not give them extra rights to the Intranet folders?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Buffalo LS-XLBB2 Linkstation NAS streaming wirelessly to a Sony SMP-N200 media player. For some reason, whenever I add or edit a file on the NAS via my PC the file list is not updating on the media player.I have the database set to refresh at 20 minute intervals, but some files and folders never show up and some do after a few days. There are no problems with file type as I can play them back fine when I connect a USB drive to the media player, it just seems like the media player isn't getting a copy of the new database. When I manually refresh the database, it makes matters worse. All of the files disappear on the media player list, except for one folder (the same folder every time). The original file list comes back again if I restart the NAS and media player, but the new files are still not listed. I can access the new files on the NAS fine with my PC or laptop, so the files are there, the media player just isn't updating the file list.
Things I've tried:
- Checking that both the NAS and media player firmware is up to date
- Retarting both units
- Resetting both units to default
- Trying different files types (the first file has never shown up, the second file showed up in the list 5 days later)
- Changing the database refresh intervals on the NAS
- Manually refreshing/initialising the NAS database
The main advice on other forums seems to be to set up a media server on the PC and stream though that, but the whole idea of getting the NAS was so that I could watch videos on my TV without having to have the PC on all the time.
how can I make a folder that gets updated on a computer does the same thing to another computer on the same network, so while I add new music to my music folder on one computer it updates the files on the other computer? I get no log in screen I get Windows cannot access this folder. Make sure you typed the file name correctly and that you have permission to access the folder?

I've been using the web filter with no problem with my A3/1.33NA router until I upgraded to 1.35 last week. After the upgrade, i did a hard reset and re-entered the websites manually from scratch to the DENY list. I didn't even reuse the saved config file. And now the router no longer blocks any of the websites in the webfilter page even when i selected the ALLOW option.

Recovery mode has not done anything. Computer acts like nothing is connected through Ethernet, says "No Cable Connected." Only power light stays on the whole time. I am guessing this thing is broken now. when i go through ipconfig, "no media connected." If not whats a good router under a hundred bucks today, had this router since early 2007.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a Zoom 5350 Cable modem/wireless router. When I'm using uTorrent on a wired connection, and DHT is updating, my internet surfing is inaccessible for like 2-3 mins. This is even when I have no DL or UL going. It's really frustrating.
I have a Motorola modem that I tested on and it's fine with the DHT thing. Seems like maybe a setting in the Zoom 5350 is causing a slow down?

I have been trying to update my Killer-n 1103 card and Killer Network software. When I downloaded the recommended driver from their site and tried to install it it said to uninstall the old drivers/software which I did. Now when I try to install the new software it says there is no compatile hardware. This happens for the Dell recommended drivers as well.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was brought a WAP200 that was giving a client some issues. I've been told the first thing to try is to update/reinstall the firmware. I have the newest firmware file downloaded and saved, and I have the WAP200 plugged in and sitting on my desk.
I reset the access point and connected it directly to my computer with a patch cable, then entered the default IP address (192.168.1.245) to attempt to access the device. No go. Is that supposed to work and something is wrong with it? All I want to do is update the firmware, because if the device has been reset and the firmware reinstalled and it's still not working, then we'll just deem it defective and have it replaced.

I have a problem in that I'm not getting any meaningful data from the IP SLA statistics for Voice Score Values:, or any data for Latency one-way time: for any of my tests(x 4).
After a day of testing it seems the MOS score never changes from 4.34, and the ICPIF never changes from 1 ?Is there something wrong with my config? Is this working properly or could this be a bug?
