I recently ( three days ago ) purchased a SRP 527w and have been using it in a mixed Mac/Windows network. The setup is currently primarily using defaults apart from enabling logging. While I was still able to access the internet with some applications, accessing web content appears to have blocked after approximately 48 hours uptime.
No web pages using port 80 were available and that included the router web interface. The router would respond to ping only.
On a different note. I have to say that I find it very strange that the supplied documentation doesn't advise setting up the router using the admin login. It was only after reading one of the comments on this site that I was alerted to this security problem. I also find it rather annoying that I appear to have to purchase additional support merely to be able to download firmware updates which are designed to give the device improved functionality.
A SRP 527W is responsible for the data network in my office. But I am not able to access it. I use traceroute to confirm its IP address is “10.0.0.138”. I am not able to access / open 10.0.0.138 with my web browser. I even can not access the same address with telnet. So is there any solution to access the SRP 527W?
I spent three days trying to get the DMZ function in my newly purchased SRP 527w Small Business Router to work at no avail. All I want is for the router to place the 192.168.1.200 IP/Machine in the DMZ.I have configured the ports in the router as TRUSTED and there are no other conflicting rules but it doesn't work still.I tried upgrading to the latest firmware "SRP520W-1.1.24" and it didn't work either.
Just wanting to know if there is a way to disable unused LAN interfaces of these Cisco 527W routers. Looking through the configuration interface it doesnt seem to have an option for this. Also I am having trouble logging into the router via SSH or Telent . When I put the password in it says "access denied" . But password works for the web interface..
Our SRP527W is working - internet on and SIP phones on but I cannot access the Web interface anymore. When I try to login from any of the machines around I get a "not responding" message.
Before I get to the stage where I have to reset the whole thing and re-do the configuration completely ? I tried powering off and powering on as well as restarting all the switches etc... but I get the same result.
at our office we've recently upgrade from a old consumer-grade linksys wag200g modem/router/ap to the Cisco SRP527w. The Cisco is suffering from very frequent ADSL disconnections. These disconnections happens when there is some traffic to the internet and they seem to don't affect the LAN routing: on the weekends there are no disconnections at all while during the working hours there may be disconnections every FEW MINUTES making this router unusable. Often these disconnections force us to do a full reboot of the router.
Firmare version is SRP520W-1.1.19, the latest. ADSL line is a 6Mbps/640kbps. Noise margin is about 11dB for downstream and 20dB for upstream. No voice line is used and therefore they are both disabled. 2 wireless network are active. The old linksys was (and is) working correctly, no adsl disconnections at all. Never.
As a raw test it is handy for us to ping externally the WAN port of the SRP 527W. How we configure the SRP 527W to allow this? FYI we have the inbulit SRP firewall enabled.
I have a pair of SRP-527W routers running latest firmware V 1.01.26. Everthing works fine. Except.... Have purchased a ZTE MF112 usb dongle as backup to the ADSL but router refuses to recognise it. In mobile network status shows as "Unable to Detect USB Mobile Modem".
Have tried a second dongle of the same type, cold reboot of router etc... but nothing. It is supposed to be supported in this release of firmware...?
we are trying to configure one to one NAT translations on a Cisco 527W-U, but are having some problems. We are running firmware version 1.2.4 (003) on the 527.
The DSL line is assigned with a /29 address range x.x.x.64 /29?
The DSL WAN interface picks up x.x.x.65 /32 from the Radius server. We are using the default private IP address range 192.168.15.0 /24 on the LAN (VLAN1), and can get to the internet ok with a PC connected to the LAN.
However when we try to set up a public IP address in the same range (eg x.x.x.66 /29) on VLAN1 (with x.x.x.67 on the PC) it will not connect. (won't allow us to configure an address from the same range as the WAN on a new VLAN interface).
we would want to be able to do one to one NAT translations eg x.x.x.66 on the outside to 192.168.15.2 inside, x.x.x.67 outside to 192.168.15.3 inside etc, but this will not either. We have tried this on a normal IOS router (887) and it worked ok. We have also tried the same on a small DSL router / modem product similar to the 527 from another manufacturer and it worked ok on that, but we wanted it to be able to work on the 527.
We have tried the NAT bypass feature without any success, reading several other discussion forums on this website leads me to believe that one to one NAT is not supported on this equipment at the moment, or at least not at the current firmware release.
One work around would be to just assign a /32 to the WAN interface on the DSL and route statically to a different routed subnet configured on the LAN, however we were wanting to avoid having to do that if possible.
We have a Cisco SRP 527W router that was not showing up on the LAN. so we tried a Factory Default reset but it seems to be dead.
The power light is flashing constantly, the 4 LAN light are constantly on,the DSL Data light comes on for 1 sec when device is powered up.
i have tried connecting directly to a PC, the NIC reports as network cable unplugged.i have tried the (power on device, hold down reset button, power of after 30 sec, power on after 5 sec, release reset button after 5 sec) but still "network cable unplugged".
the firmware flash utility will not find the NIC the device is connected to.the router is less than a year old, is there a fix or is it a warranty replacement ?
I have recently acquired one of these routers. I thought, being a Cisco product, it would be the bee's knees. It is not. After finally getting the network set up - no mean feat, although I do not claim any expertise, but had to resort to some other network management software to finally get it all running - the router drops either the WAN connection or the wireless connection many times a day. The laptops often show as being connected to the network/router, but are unable to access either the internet, or the router via the browser. Re-booting the router is the fix, but, hey, I can achieve that sort of performance with any old $20 router - none of my old Net gear routers was this troublesome.
The permanent fix would seem to be a firmware upgrade, but guess what? The only options available under the "Administration" tab are time setting and switch settings - no firmware upgrade. The supplied firmware is 1.01.09(001) Apr 7 2010. Why these products are supplied, as new, without the latest firmware installed beats me, but there you go.
The router recognizes the Sierra 312U modem but does not connect to Telstra. The modem is on a monthly plan (not pre-paid) and I have tried APN settings such as internet.telstra and internet.bigpond. The configuration is set to manual and the correct user id and password have been entered. explain the "daemon.err rc: start -1 port.... fail (-8)" in the log? 312U sierra model supposed to be compatible with SRP500s. Any other settings I should try?
I have a Cisco 527w which we are wanting to deploy to our remote sites however i've found a bug. We use ADSL with an IPsec tunnel as primary and 3G APN for failover . When the ADSL goes down the route via the IPSec tunnel remains and i am unable to route the traffic via the APN backup without disabling the VPN tunnel .
I have a client that just got a second public IP (x.x.x.252) for a new program. I've setup that second IP on their UC540 on the public-facing port and it's accessible all day long from the outside, no problem. The problem comes in where users from within the LAN can't see the new public IP at all; however, they CAN get to the original public IP x.x.x.250. I've looked at the rules every which way and can't see anything that either 1) only allows LAN traffic to get to the original public IP, or 2) a NAT rule that only allows the same thing.
[Disclaimer: I just inherited this client and their setup, so other than me adding the IP and opening ports to it, I didn't program it.]
Here is the port configuration:
! interface FastEthernet0/0 description $FW_OUTSIDE$ ip address 63.234.195.252 255.255.255.248 secondary ip address 63.234.195.250 255.255.255.248 ip access-group 106 in no ip redirects no ip (code )
I can't figure out why .250 is internally-accessible, but .252 isn't. .252 is in the routing table as a directly-connected address, but I also added ip route 63.234.195.252 255.255.255.255 FastEthernet0/0 to the routing table and it still won't go. Everything is controlled by the UC540: The internal servers do not run DNS or DHCP or even a domain. There are no NAT outside rules.
I have a DVR system. Which is configure in DMZ on my firewall. DVR internal IP is 192.168.2.13 and external IP is 27.34.xxx.xx. when I am able to access DVR by using internal IP and it works fine while accessing from the internet it not work proper. Though it prompt for username and password also. After enter the login credential its getting blank. I am able to telnet External IP from internet on port 80.
After choosing the option "IPv4 and IPV6 Dual-Stack" in Networking > IPv6 > IP Mode, the router's configuration website is not accessible any more using it's IPv4 address or via remote management (WAN IP). However, all other router services (routing, VPN, etc.) are working fine.
We have recently purchased a Cisco Small Business Pro SRP 527W router, all seems good and it is running smoothly, no disconnections or sync issues like our last router. However, after a certain amount of time the web management interface is unavailable through the browser (accessing it via 192.168.1.254 or the alternative we set-up 1.1.1.1) It is totally unavailable and timeouts in the browser yet there is still internet access and network is still alive. The web management interface was accessible before though and the only solution I have been able to do to access it again is to reboot this router.Could it be possible that because port 80 is forwarded to a different IP it interferes with the Web management interface? And how wcould the interface port access be changed?
I have just installed an SRP 527w and it's basic operation is working fine. However, the ISP has allocated (and set up routing for) a range of 16 additional static addresses to the link that I now wish to configure and use, but I am having problems. Details are as follows (ip addresses are fictitious): [code]Extra ip range Netmask: 255.255.255.240From what I understand, these are added as subinterfaces which are bridged off the main WAN interface. However, when I try to add a subinterface by specifying (say) I get an error when saving : [code] The error states "IP Address and Gateway cannot be the same as the netmask".
Ok so one site i used to use regularly has for the last few month been either incredibly slow or totally inaccessible. Its a perfectly sedate site just a social forum, its this one. www.pandemoniumcarnival.com/ which is accessible to all my friends but seemingly not to me...So far i have changed DNS (to open DNS and Google, thinking my isp had blocked it for some reason)Tried Firefox (my usual browser) chrome, IE ...flushed all the settings etc in each no cookies etc. Tried "In Private Browsing" etcOddly i can get to the site if i use a site called "Hide my ***" a proxy server thing. But even then its not fully functioning due i think to the proxy setting (?)
I setup a site to site vpn between location A and location B.The setup is working and both location can see each other. Now the problem is last weekend the vpn is not UP although the Internet is accesibble. The solution is i power off - on the ASA 5510 and the vpn connection is UP again. This already occurs 2 times. The 1st times is 4 month back. The 1st time i thought is nothing, but the 2nd time, I really need to know what wrong?I attach the configuration of the ASA 5510 at location A that i reboot.
Cisco ASA 5510 with static routes. I created a new internal vlan and added the correct route to the ASA. Internally the vlan is fully accessible but when I connect to the VPN I cannot communicate with systems on it.
The dynamic access policy and associated ACL are fine. A system associated with this policy but not on the new vlan is accessible thru this policy.
I'm working on a small network (1 server, 6 workstations, stand-alone, not connected to the main Company Network) "reinstalling" a Workstation. Re-imaging from semi-generic Norton Ghost image (4 of the 6 Workstations run the same programs with different addresses). I then had to reset the IP, the Computer Name, and then the Domain (I did it in that order).
I'm using Windows Server 2003 as the domain controller, and the Workstation is Xp Pro Sp 2.
The Workstation is using the same IP, Name, User as before, and they were working with the server previously (a program had corrupted prompting the reinstall).
The problem is that if I open windows explorer and type in the Workstations IP (\000.00.0.1) I get access to the computer. But if I go there and type in the Workstations Name (\Computer01) I get a "you may not have permission to use this network resource" error.
If I go to the work station, and try the same thing except with the Server's IP (\000.00.0.100) and Name (\Server01) I get access.
This Workstation controls an I/O device that is used by a program running on the server (most of the time, not while I'm doing the install of course) and the program uses the Workstation's Computer Name to access it.
As far as I can tell all the settings on this Workstation match the 3 that are running the same programs, but I could have missed something.
I'm a bit stumped by this, I don't normally deal with the Server side of the computers. I usually just set up the workstations to whatever Name/IP the Net-admins give me. But my bosses put me in charge of this little network, mainly because the Net-admins din't want to deal with it.
I was trying to connect my computers on a home network so that I can access either one via the other. When I try however I get the message:
"***-PC is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.
long failure: user account restriction. Possible reasons are blank passwords not allowed, logon hour restrictions, or a police restriction has been enforced.
That is the message from computer 1 to computer 2.
Computer 2 gives me the message:
Windows cannot access \***-PC

I have a linksys router and i'm having quite a big issue. it's been since 2010 that I bought it and have no problems up until recently. I was playing/ going through all the security settings just to what all there was to secure my router. I noticed an ip setting and I 95% sure I did something which changed it; and now i am unable to access my router settings. Whenever I type the old ip address (192.168.1.1 or any of the few other ip addresses) it gives error page and says this page is non existent or it gives me a link to click on with the failed ip address to do a google search. My question is, is there any way that I can reset the router (like a system restore on a computer),
I have nated my 172.81.15.0 255.255.255.0 into my internal server 10.1.10.164 , i can ping the out side server but the internal server is not accessible from out side static (Database-Servers,interface-sms) 172.81.15.2 10.1.10.164 netmask 255.255.255.255icmp permit 172.81.15.0 255.255.255.0 interface-smsroute zemen-sms 172.81.15.0 255.255.255.0 10.131.199.201 1access-list Database-Servers-in extended permit tcp host 10.1.10.164 host 10.185.62.144 eq 9090access-list Database-Servers-in extended permit tcp host 10.1.10.164 host 10.185.62.144 eq wwwicmp permit host 10.185.62.144 interface-smsi can ping the out side server 10.185.62.144 with out a problem . from the server 10.185.62.144 i can ping untill 172.81.15.2 and it will not ping the natted server 10.1.10.164. as u seen the accesslist ping is permitted.
I am having some problems with WRVS4400N v2.We use it just for wired network (wireless is not in use, but it is configured). As a WAN we use PPPoE. Most machines do not use DHCP.After a while (few hours to few days after power up) the router freezes and it is not accessible. I cannot ping it or access to the admin page.I have the latest firmware version (V1.00.09-ETSI)I also called service and they suggested to reset it to factory settings and reconfigure it.
I have a similar problem, I'm able to connect via VPN client and ping only one host on the remote lan and nothing else. I'm using both split-tunnel and non-split-tunnel, but none has worked. My main objective is to make the remote user connect to office lan (remote lan for him) and office Internet connection.
Cisco ASA5505..Made a VPN connection (SSL or ANYconnect) with a domain notebook. After that via RDP (connect with domain user) to one of the PC's in the domain. Until now everything is ok.The mapped drives are there but I do not have access to them. Normaly when I logged in into the network no problem but only with VPN connection.I have to login to get access but when I do that get message unknown user.
In my client office, We have replaced small business router cisco RV042 with Cisco ISR router 2911, in that router we have configured NAT to allow internal user to access internet and port forwarding for outside user to access web servers and other application that are hosted internally.
we are not able to access [URL] (name changed) from internally and one of the application that are runnning on port no. 8280., and same is working properly from outside the network.other application that running on 8287 is accessible form internally.
We are accessing with ip address http://192.168.1.51:8280. and [URL] not working from inside.
i have ASA 5510 with firmware version 8.4.2 and ASDM firmware 6.4.5 , it is a new system and there is no configuration other than inside network and HTTP server enable , allow my ip address to access http server.i am able to ping the firewall but no access throguh ASDM
