I've buy a SRP500 Series Router (ADSL 2+).My ISP need RFC1483 Routed with LCC encapsulation type but this router dont have this type of encapsulation available in WAN settings. What can i do to use this device with my ISP adsl connection ?
View 4 RepliesMy Draytek 2710 just dies after 2 years so I was looking for something a little more reliable and noticed the spec of the SRP527W-U.I take it with only one antenna and reading a couple of past discussions, the wireless will only manage n-lite as some people call it i.e. 150Mbps, and not the full 300? Oh, and are the ports still only 100M and not Gig?I know the 547 would tick both these boxes but we are talking twice the price. How does the quality and logevity of the SRP500 series compare to the RV series (which would need an adsl modem) or the Linksys boxes?

1. I can no longer specify encapsulation type on a trunk. Does the 4507 auto sence encapsulation and apply it dynamically?

The Release Notes for 7.0.116.0 of WLC 5500 has a table which title is "Client Type", and it shows wireless adapters. My question is,
what kind of customer means? Wireless clients or clients for an specific application? If it was the first option, does it mean tha just this adapters could connect to my wireless network?

I got 2 RFC1483 bridged connections wich i want to combine in the 1841. What i want is 1 subnet (if possible) route normal internet traffic out on ATM0/0/0 Route 1 server and Voip box out on ATM0/1/0 What is the best way to configure this if it is possible with the hardware.Tried different things allready but no luckPretty much in all configs when i connect 1 line it works fine but when i connect the second one all goes wrong.

View 13 Replies View Relatedwe are trying to configure one to one NAT translations on a Cisco 527W-U, but are having some problems. We are running firmware version 1.2.4 (003) on the 527.
The DSL line is assigned with a /29 address range x.x.x.64 /29?
The DSL WAN interface picks up x.x.x.65 /32 from the Radius server. We are using the default private IP address range 192.168.15.0 /24 on the LAN (VLAN1), and can get to the internet ok with a PC connected to the LAN.
However when we try to set up a public IP address in the same range (eg x.x.x.66 /29) on VLAN1 (with x.x.x.67 on the PC) it will not connect. (won't allow us to configure an address from the same range as the WAN on a new VLAN interface).
we would want to be able to do one to one NAT translations eg x.x.x.66 on the outside to 192.168.15.2 inside, x.x.x.67 outside to 192.168.15.3 inside etc, but this will not either. We have tried this on a normal IOS router (887) and it worked ok. We have also tried the same on a small DSL router / modem product similar to the 527 from another manufacturer and it worked ok on that, but we wanted it to be able to work on the 527.
We have tried the NAT bypass feature without any success, reading several other discussion forums on this website leads me to believe that one to one NAT is not supported on this equipment at the moment, or at least not at the current firmware release.
One work around would be to just assign a /32 to the WAN interface on the DSL and route statically to a different routed subnet configured on the LAN, however we were wanting to avoid having to do that if possible.
I would replace an old Levelone Router with a Linksys E2500.I have 3 different routed private networks (e.g. 192.168.1.0/24 , 192.168.101.0/24 and 10.0. 0.0/24)How can I forward different ports to this 3 different private networks with an E2500.In the "Games&Applications" Menu are the first 3 octets of the "to IP-address" are fix and corresponds with the LAN ip address.

These are all coming from the same IP Address which is running Windows 7 Enterprise X64 using a WIRED connection.
For some strange reason I'm getting the error "WAN IP should not be a network address" when I type in an IP address under the Static IP Settings section in the "IP Address" field. My client has a static IP from his ISP and I'm trying to set it up on the router. I've updated to the latest firmware 1.0.4.17 but still the same error.
I'm not copying and pasting the address, I'm typing it in. There is no extra spaces or anything. What is this glitch? I could save the router settings and reset it and try that but I'm doing this all remotely and would rather not have to make another trip to do this onsite.

I noticed through packet tracer that the 2960 switch doesn't allow for the '(config-if)#switchport trunk encapsulation' command, but the L3 3560 switch will.I am very concerened about this since VLANs are a main topic. What perspective will Cisco be seeing this from for the CCNA exam, I test in 12 days. I have embedded a packet tracer screen shot for more information in case I didn't word this right (which happens all the time to everyone it seems like in NW'ing now and then if not alot).

I recently purchased a Zyxel PK5000Z modem from qwest, upgrading from my M1000 actiontec. My reasoning was that port forwarding was not working as part of the router on the actiontec, and the pk saved me some money on my bill. So, what I always start out doing on modem/routers is restrict DHCP to 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.10, limiting the number of devices that could connect, and I don't know if that really matters or not for this problem, but figured I would throw everything out there. So....My actual problem is that now when boot up xbox360 I get a xbox360 live "nat strict" error. I have all the ports suggested for xbox, and the particular games forwarded, and DMZ turned on to the static IP I assigned to the xbox. I started out assigning a static IP reservation in the router for the xbox (the one I set on the xbox), but soon found not needing this. I ran the firmware diagnostic tool in the utilities menu and the "encapsulation test" failed, I called qwest, they have no clue, but sounded like a level 1 dude, but he authorized a new actiontec pk5000.

I will have a Cisco ASA firewall behind the router so that I can build a site to site VPN tunnel. Qwest requires PPP encapsulation. The Lan side network is 10.2.0.0/16. Qwest gave me their serial IP address and my serial ip address which was I used to configure the route. The ethernet interface was configured for the local Lan side subnet and i natted both the inside and outside interface of the router. I am not sure if this is correct. How do I configure the router so that I can use one of the available public IP Addresses as the outside interface of the ASA?

The xconnect is only built up correctly when I configure the interface in the zone_outside. The destination for the xconnect is an ASR9k. If I do not configure the zone on the L2VPN-Interface, only arp-packet are allowed to tgo through the tunnel.
The L2VPN connects a branch office to the network of "PH". Now the trouble starts: when they are putting a host in the branch office, DHCP via the L2VPn works fine, they can ping anything from the branch office-PC in their local network and reach all internal servers etc.
BUT if they want to go to a destination outside their network, it will not work properly. For example, the branch-office-PC can ping 8.8.8.8 fine, but when they try to connect to a website, e.g. www.google.com, they run into a timeout. Netstat says, that the http-syn is sent, but no ack is received.
On the router, I see:

whereas x.y.225.250 is the PC connected via L2VPN in the branch office to their local lan. When they put the same machine in their local lan directly behind the router (without l2vpn) everything works fine. When I switch off the firewall on the Gi0/0/0-Interface, the PC from the branch office also reaches its destination, so for me it looks like the firewall inspects the traffic going via Gi0/0/1 and L2VPN, what in my opinion, it should not do....
