Sep 6, 2011
I have a SF 300-24p.... How do I configure it to act use like a hub, with the uplink on G1... And How do you set all the ports to POE for ViOP phones, and these ip phones are going to get DHCP over network..
I have two SG300 serie switches and two Gigabit connection between them. How do I configured these two links to work toghether like a one 2 Gigabit channel?
I bought for a little office a SA520 Security appliance (for future VPN with another distant office) and a SG 300-10P switch for connect 3 PC and 3 IP PHONE. THe SA 520 is the router. I must configure 2 VLANs on the switch :
VLAN2 : DATA (for PC) VLAN3 : VOICE (for IP PHONE) VLAN1 : DEFAULT.
How can i simply configure all ports ? I would like to configure ports 1-4 on VLAN2 and ports 5-8 on VLAN3 and port G10 is reserved for the router SA520. I want to divise network DATA/VOICE.
I think i must create a trunk on G10 for SA520 ...
I would like to configure a switch to act like a Hub. I know about the mirroring port configuration, but unfortunately is not enough for me. Is it possible to do that with the switch that I have (i.e. SG 200-08) ? If not do you know a switch on which I can configure it like a hub (that mean no flow control between physical ports).
I am planning to put an internet cafe in my place, i want to buy 20 units of PC to start the business. how to set-up or configure the PCs, How to use router and how to configure the PCs to activate the network.
I've to connect 2 building with fiber, for this I use 2 HP baseline switches. How do I have to configure the 2 switches so that i can have PC connected to switch 2 able to "talk" with the server connected to switch 1 ?
how to configure SNMP on the Cisco SG300 switches? I have the SG300-10P. I am not fully familiar with the new command line interface on this device, it was easy on the IOS but finding it a nightmare on this one.
I put the following command in but it didnt work.
snmp-server view Interfaces interfaces included snmp-server community ACB123 ro 10.x.x.x view default
I tried to follow the guidelines on the cisco website but thats all Web interface based, i can only access the switch remotely via CLI.
our 6509 is configured as NTP master. Our 4948 is configured as NTP client.on each of these switches we have configured a management VRF.The problem is that 4948 can not synchronize its clock with NTP master. Both switches are directly connected.show cdp neighbor on 4948 switch:
I have a question regard to switch SFE2010P, i have 2 vlan ( data and voice) and we want to configure Ip phones SPA502G, the question here is how can i make to suport 2 vlans on the same switch port, like the catalyst IOS switch port acces vlan x and switch port voice vlan x, if i set up the switch with the voice vlan like tagged doesn't work, but if i set up the voice vlan like untagged vlan its works but the PC attached to the data port on the SPA502G doesn't work?
I am having problems accomplishing these tasks with my new SG 200-18.
I have a LinkSys WRT54G2 connected to port 1. I would like ports 2-8 to be in one VLAN with access to the Internet and to be able to share their printers, hard drives, etc. with other computers on ports 2-8. I would like each of ports 9-16 to be on a separate VLAN with access only to the Internet and no other ports on the switch. I would like to be able to manage the switch from any of the ports 2-8.
After I create the VLAN 1009 (see screenshot below), port 9 can browse the Internet and cannot see the other ports on the switch which is correct. However, ports 2-8 can no longer access the switch at 192.168.1.20 in order to manage the switch.
I am a novice at setting up Cisco routers, I have a few years of networking form the server side of things just beginning to work on the switch side. I am trying to configure a sg200-8 to have three VLANs.
i have a pppoe connection coming through ethernet line. i.e i need to use dialer that i have created on the desktop..and i have bought a new Linksys E1000 router v2.1..now my problem is that1) After entering all the settings correctly my router worked for 3 days after that the net is not working.i.e it cannot connect to the internet keeps giving the error cannot get IP from PPPOE(i have connected my router in pppoe mode and use the router status page to connect and disconnect)I have also updated the router to the latest firmware 2.1.01 and after that the problems have started. My Net works if i directly plug the Ethernet cable in the PC.the problem starts when i connect it to my router.
I am looking for a how to configure a DHCP server for a Cisco SMB 300 series switch to obtain an automatic configuration. Currently i am using a Cisco 1800 router as my DHCP server and the DHCP pool serving the 300 series switch is configured as follows.
ip dhcp pool Cisco_SMB_300 network 192.168.0.0 255.255.255.0 default-router 192.168.0.1
[Code]......
Looking at pcaps, I don't even see a tftp request going the server after the switch obtains an IP via DHCP. The config file format is exactly as obtained from the download backup section (pretty sure its not the issue since i don't see a download attempt). Also, the SMB switch is running the latest firmware image (1.1.1.8)
Looking though the admin guide i did not see specifics on how the DHCP server was to be configure for the auto configuration feature to work.
I have a question in regards to configuration I'm planning to implement. I currently have 2 x 3750 running in a stack. I would like to add 1 x 870 router connected to both switches. It's important for me that 870 is always available (it will only be used as a backdoor for our management network through WAN) but I don't want it to participate in any switching (including switching for management network unless it's going through this backdoor WAN). Do I need to configure spanning tree on all switches or stack is automaticly working as a 1 logical unit?As router is only using 100MB/s connection, how I can prevent this router from switching packets with other switches?
I have a pair of ACE 4710 and I think I have all the failover configured correctly and it all appears to be working. My question is regarding setting QOS on the physical interfaces that are part of my port channel. I have qos trust cos enabled on all the interfaces in my port channel. These interfaces are connected to a 3750 swith. Do I need to configure QOS on the 3750 to allow the COS bit to pass through my 3750 to my peer?
I have a Cisco SG300-20. I have read the documentation and cannot seem to locate the instructions for port forwarding. I need to forward TCP port 8088 to IP address 192.168.14.110 on the switch.
I have an issue with couple of Cisco 4900M switches. We just got them and tried to use the TwinGig Converter on the 4 ports 10G module.
The problem is that the switches sees the new module in slot 2 and when we are inserting the TwinGig Converters we are getting the error message and when we are trying to type the command this command it does not work."hw-module module <slot> port-group <group> select gigabitethernet",When we go to config T, the only thing we can type is "hw-module module <slot> and if we do a ? the only thing is available is logging and power and we can't type
Port-Group or anything else. Is this a hidden command or we have to something else?
I saw a post in [URL] that was close to what I need to do. But this site seems a better place to ask a question. We need to install a second switch (SF300-24P) to an existing network with an SF300 48P and an ASA5500 for gateway/firewall etc. the network on the 48p switch is 192.168.1.xx. We want to use the new switch for ip cameras and 192.168.2.xx.
I will assume I need to set up a vlan on the 24 port switch for the 192.168.2.xx ip range, i will call this vlan20. I will guess that I need to pick a port from the 48p switch and create vlan20 on the 48p switch to access the 24p switch. I want users on the 192.168.1.xx network to be able to access cameras on the 192.168.2.xx network. Do I need to add a line in the asa config file for the new switch?
I am planning to install and configure VSS (6509) switches. But the customer requires that the First Switch should be the main and the second Switch should act as a backup one. (Disaster Recovery).
Once the Main (Primary switch) DOWN the Secondary one should coming UP.But what I am understand in VSS concept the two switches will act as one Switch. And both of them will be UP in the same time.
Is there any solution to configure the both VSS switch as primary and standby switch to provide HA?
Some tips and trick on how to configure and sg300 for intervlan routing.
I already have the switch set up for layer 3 I already set up multiple vlans and each vlan has a ip interface setup with the desired subnet I see the local routes set up in the static routing page.
I cannot seem to get from one subnet/vlan (I am using one subnet for each VLAN) to the next.

I took cisco 827 as dhcp server and i create 4 dhcp pools in it. How i can configure in sf300 to take dhcp service from cisco router 827. Isit possible to configure 827 with bvi interface, when i was try i got below error. how to configure bvi interface and i will link that bvi to vlan on sf300. error in 827 router, How i can connect two sf300 switch for redundancy ? I connected giga4 SW1 and giga4 SW2 and mode trunk isit good or any other way i need to connect it.?
why i can not found ip router setting by main menu? the sg300-28 can not support ip router command?mor informations, see my img. If sg300-28 can not support ip router command, what i can do it that communicate by multi-Vlan ?
I want to configure my SRW248G4 switch thru console port. Unfortunately in this switch there is no RJ45 console port input, I can only see cosole port that is look like RS232 input. I bought two standard cisco console cables that have one end with db9 and one with RJ45.
Now I have and idea to put one end of one cable (db9) to switch, and one end (db9) of second cable in my computer (COM input/output)
I need to connect two RJ45 together - this is not a problem, I know how to do this. Here is the question :I know how pinout in my computer look like but i can't find pinout of console port in my SRW248G4. There is many pictures in Internet, for many Cisco devices but this isn't working. Maybe in LINKSYS pinout look different ?
Just got a new SGE2010P layer 3 switch. I'm trying to configure Vlan to reach a few subnet. I have the original 192.168.1.0/24 as vlan1. I want to reach our WiFi subnet 192.168.10.0/24. The WIFI router is directly connected. It's new for me as the previous Job i was sorking with a ws-3750-48.
i did from console change my switch to layer 3 mode... ( i want it as the DGW for each Vlan)from the web interface, i create a vlan4 for our WIFI Next i go to ipv4 to add an IP address to vlan 4 like 192.168.10.254 /24 As soon as I apply the IP the switch stop responding, Ping request time out.. i need to reboot the switch..
