Unable To Access Web-pages In Normal Mode / Works In Safe Mode
Feb 19, 2013I am not able to connect to any webpages in normal mode, even after restarting i still have the same problem [However it works in safe mode with networking]. The network connections show that it is connected and the signal strength is excellent. I then have to keep restarting the laptop like 3 to 4 times and it works. Its kind of frustrating to keep doing this all the time and besides i am scared by restarting the laptop so many time can harm it.

I have a Cisco 891w router with the following software (main and integrated AP801 wireless AP):
1. Cisco IOS Software, C890 Software (C890-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 12.4(22)YB
License Level: advipservices
2. Cisco IOS Software, AP801 Software (AP801-RCVK9W8-M), Version 12.4(21a)JA1, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
Opening a connection to integrated AP801 wireless device for performing wireless configuration tasks, the connection is established OK, authentication is passed OK using credentials from main configuration file, gaining level 15 privileges with enable command, but after that... no way to enter "Global Configuration mode" because there are no "configure" family commands present!!! Simply can't say "Conf t" because there is no such command!

1. ACE Gi 1/2 (client-side vlan) is connected to 3750 (vlan 40)
2. ACE Gi 1/3 (server-side vlan) is connected to 3750 (vlan 50)
3. Two real servers are connected to 3750 (vlan 50)
4. One client device (linux box) is connected to 3750 (vlan 40)
I am not using admin context. I have created a new one for user. I am unable to ping VIP (10.10.50.15) either from client linux box or from within ACE.

Want to plug the ap's into each switch and have them bridge the data and even better if they could trunk vlans. No wireless clients at all. Strictly a point to point bridge. Aug 27, 2012I was provided with a new wireless modem from our internet service provider (the old modem was antiquated and needed updating). After this, i have been unable to connect to the internet on my laptop on a wireless basis. I can search for the modem via the usual means and seemingly connect, but when i am connected it states that i have 'Local Access' only and i am unable to access the internet at all. I am also unable to connect to the internet on a wireless basis when in safe mode.I am however, able to connect using a Ethernet cable from the modem.My laptop is fairly old but it is fine for our needs and thus i do not really want to change it unless totally necessary. I just wonder if it is something relatively simple that i am overlooking?My son also has a more modern laptop, and he tells me that he can use the internet via our new modem without any problems. Which would suggest there is nothing wrong with the modem.The operating system is Windows Vista, if that makes any difference.

Both power supplies are running in combined mode .Each power supplies is rated with 500 watts max( I just picked 500 watts for simplicity)Combined mode In combined mode, each power supply provides approximately 83% of its capacity to the chassis. This allows for greater utilization of the power supplies and potentially increased PoE densities
1) Let say our specific 6500 switch's configuration requires 1000 watts. We have two power supplies p1 and p2 ,each with rated power of 500 watts. Both power supplies must operate in combined mode. Will power supplies be able to meet the total load power requirement of 1000 watts?
Here is my understanding :The maximum power delivered by each power supplies is 83 percent of its rated power, assuming power supplies are running in combined mode.
So Maximum power delivered by power supplies
= 83% of p1+ 83% of p2
= 83% of 500 + 83% of 500
= 415 +415
=830 watts
Thus the required load of 1000 watts can not be met by our power supplies in combined mode.
2 )Suppose our switch's switch configuration needs 500 watts. Again our power supplies each rated with 500 watts, are configured for combined mode. How much power is being delivered by each power supply? Is it 83 percent of the total load i.e 500 watts?

Mar 18, 2012I am using 802.1x authentication with multi-domain ports; Phone and PC connected to phone. The phones are Nortel (Avaya) and the PCs are Dell/HP Laptops. All are configured for Certificate authentication and this works well. However we sometimes get some ports stuck in Guest mode. when a non certificated laptop connects to a phone port and fails authentication, the data port is placed in the Guest VLAN. However when the laptop disconnects the port isn't reset and remains in the guest state. When a subsequent good laptop connects and attempts to authenticate the switch ignores this and leaves the data port in the Guest VLAN. he switch is a 2960S with Version 12.2(58)SE2 IOS.

I would have expected the auth function to have reacted to the EAP packets sent by the good client when it connected and performed eap authentication but it didn't, all it did was say the ports in Guest mode and left the laptop in this VLAN.

The problem is the switches interface never comes up so try to connect to the tftp server. I read on google it can't be done on a switch to copy from tftp to flash in rommon mode on a switch and to use XMODEM. My problem is I do not have access to it, I ssh into a 3640 which is an access server for all devices and that is how I have console to it, how to use XMODEM over ssh.
But I'm fairly certain that there has to be a way to just copy it from tftp? I have a 3550 local and when I put it in rommon mode it stops the port check at port, port 1 goes from green when you plug it in to off then port 2 changes to amber and the rest green. So just by the look of this I would believe tftp would work; you just need to use port 1.

I have installed a mini router type MR3020.I have set it up to WISP mode in order to get wifi signal from my main router and be able to deliver wifi to other devices The main router is working fine and I can access internet with no problem.However, the mini router, which detects the main router, is unable to supply internet connectivity. The ip addresses in teh WAN part under network is zero. Though I tried many times to renew the ip address I was not able to get a valid IP address.

When i remove the login local from the line console i connect to console port and press enter it shows router prompt 2691Router> but i am unable to go to enable mode.If i telnet to router then i put username and pw then it goes straight to enable mode.
