Cisco :: Using SNMP To Monitor Bandwidth Utilization History ASA 5510
Dec 22, 2008
I matched the traffic statistics on one of my Cisco ASA site-site tunnels with the OID:1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.171.1.4.3.1.1.25.4142 (cipSecTunHistInOctets). I was real proud of myself for a few days until I checked the history and found the OID wasnt working. After some troubleshooting I found that the last four digits (4142 in this case) change whenever the tunnel drops and re-establishes itself. Any way to collect tunnel utilization history on an ASA with SNMP? Is there a different OID I can use thats based on the endpoint IP?
I am using ASA 5510 Firewall and i have established VPN tunnels too , now i want to Monitor the bandwidth utilization , i have installed PRTG Monitor application and want to add the firewall , how to enable the SNMP in ASA .
I have been appointed to monitor an internet networking consist of 4 computers.
1. To block some websites for all 4 computers. Example, maybe if I want to block YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. or any website. This is actually to prevent users to access any adult site.I dont want to block internet entirely. But just to block some website only.
2. To have a report for internet URL for each computer. Not a bandwidth or traffic report. I dont need that. What I want is a list of URL that the user have surf in the internet.
I have a cisco 1841, Im trying to write an app which will get the Interface Utilization on my 2 atm interfaces and fast eth 0/0 interface.
I’ve been reading up and have got as far as downloading the codeplex snmp library project. I’m using the snmpget app to get details off my 1841 successfully, but I now need to know the OID for interface utilization and how to define which interface to get.
Monitoring H.323? I've got a 3925 running15.1(3)T with 9 PRI's. Because of our volume, syslogging is not the desired solution. We want something that we can potentially graph over an 8 hour period, so while the RTMT is accurate, either it won't store the data for 8 hours, or we aren't using it correctly (plus, mgmt may want access to the stats/graphs, and we're not keen on granting them access). So far, we've used: [code] None of these seem to accurately portray utilization. cdsp Active Channels seems to get the closest, so perhaps I have to tweak it a little bit, but so far, nothing accurate.
I have a problem with SNMP. I using Cisco 3845 in distribution layer. >600 subinterfaces. When my managment system send response - the cpu Utilization on cisco3845 near 100%. I want to prohibited my Cisco answer on response about interface status.
I have several cisco 3620 being used for PPPoE connections. I want to generate MRTG of the connections. Would anyone have the snmp OID to monitor the number of users?
Any OID to determine the number of registered AP's on a WLC (specifically the AIR-CT2504).
I've got both of the Airespace MIBs and have browsed through them but I can't seem to find the correct location. I can find a list of all of the AP's registered but our monitoring software doesn't have the ability to 'count' that index. As such, I'm looking for a count/summation of the total number of registered AP's via SNMP.
i have 3560 switch located in warehouse environments . i need to monitor the temperate of this switch . i am looking for OID value that serves this purpose .
kindly provide me how to look for all OID that give me real time status for FAN .. CPU UTILIZATION ...TEMPERATURE ...OR ANY MAJOR EVENT THAT CAN DISRUPT MY PRODUCT IN .
We are currently monitoring approximately 50 locations each having one or more cisco devices, Catalyst 3750 and 3560.Locations are connected via CWDM.We would like to monitor interface errors, signal loss and power on CWDM SFP transceivers on Catalyst 3560 and Catalyst 3750 switches. We tried to get these values (as shown using „sh interface transceiver“ command) using SNMP but we didn't get any SNMP result. What MIB or other functions/ modules/ features need to be used/activated on switch?Do we need any additional piece of hardware?
what is the OID for See the hit status of the spefic VIP and RIP coming under the VIP .apeart from this CSS box having any module to moniter the hit status or VIP's and RIP's
I would like to monitor the status of ether channel and trunk configurations in 6500 Catalyst switches running both CATOS and IOS. I would like to understand the specific mibs /OIDS that should be monitored for ether channels and trunks. I am trying to get a better handle on tracking the ether channels and trunk dynamically and then understanding when the ports are having issues (up/down and errors). I need to understand how to differentiate these type of ports from regular access ports.
May I know how to monitor temperature status of below device by SNMP.How to find the exact oid of those devices? I can only find the mib file of Nexus 5000 at url...Cisco Nexus 5010PCisco UCS 6120XP Cisco ASR 1002F
I show up at this business. They have about 40-50 systems. They have a 2003 AD server with a router, and 4 switches. There is also a dvr system on the network for cameras. Each switch is daisy chained together. Everything is working correctly except for the fact that the network drops about 5 times a day. Before they called us, they would just unhook one switch and plug it back in and it would work. At first, we took that switch and exchanged it with another switch in a computer lab to see if just the computer lab goes down. If it did, then that switch was bad. That wasn't the case, the whole network still went down. We had already left, but when we go back, our first choice will to see if there is a loop anywhere within the switch that will flood the network. Then, we were going to see if there was a switch that was getting a lot of traffic on the network to try to track it down. How can u monitor the bandwidth on the switches? They are 24 port switches. The switch is fs750/24 switch.
I am working as net admin which is i need to monitoring and manage my workplace network( education center )I got a few question about network traffic flow. Here is the issued.I got high bandwidth utilization so high after office hours which is only on night. as we know, after office hours there is no person at the office but the traffic flow on bandwidth utilization is high.what are the possibilities of this issued?
How to find bandwidth utlization and who consumed bandwidth lot.? Basically ,I would use speedtest.net for speedtest and will ask from ISP for bandwidth utilization.
Is there any way that to measure bandwidth utilization and who consumed lot based on IPaddress?

I am running LMS 4.2 , using that i am monitering some switches . I am using topology services also. In that i am getting veiw of all connected devices with links. But bandwidth utilization is for those links are not showning in topology veiw .
Is there any settings to be done in LMS 4.2.2 or any configuration changes to done on my switches ? to find the traffic flow bandwidth utilization.
I came across some free bandwidth monitoring software by Solarwinds while doing some reading on other sites. I installed the software and now im stuck at setup. The Softaware is asking for...
Ip Address/Hostname SNMP Version Community string
I'm assuming the IP Address/Hostname would be my computers IPv4 on the network and as far as the SNMP Version goes im not sure, I can either choose from SNMP v1/2c or v3. For the community string, I'm assuming its Public but im not completely sure. When I attempt to go to the next step is says the credentials test failed So obviously something I entered is incorrect.
Note: this is on my own home network. Im using a Comcast all in one router and modem.
I have a cisco catalyst 2960-s PoE switch. I have a web access to the switch and am able to get statistics on each port. However, I am wondering if there is a way to have a diagram of the trafic on each port?
Also, what is the best way to monitor the trafic on a router ( i have a cisci 1811W)
I have 4 laptops (WiFi), 2 desktops (LAN), xbox (LAN), and dish receiver (LAN) that are all connected to the internet using the method between the brackets. Recently i am running out of bandwidth, and what i am looking for is a freeware that i can install in one of the computers that could tell me which IP or MAC address used how much internet.I have read several articles: some articles point me to softwares which only monitor the computer that they are installed. Other posts argued that such thing can only be done through the main router. I know my router doesn't have such feature. I use SMC router.
So lately this week, one rogue user from the boarding house has been downloading(possibly torrenting)/streaming to his/her heart's content resulting in extremely slow connections for everyone else. I've been using an Android app to list all devices connected to the network, and one-by-one, manually disconnected each one to find the problematic, bandwidth-hogging IP. I've found that said user continued to use up bandwidth even up to the wee hours of the morning.
I managed to find his/her IP address, I know I could just block sites/ports via the router's control panel but I guess it's not that simple because: a.) Whoever setup the wireless on our floor forgot the username/password combo(not even the landlady knows) b.) I've asked management about asking for access to the router. Being the IT student on the floor, I guess I'll take the responsibility of at least limiting the rogue user's bandwidth so everyone else on our floor has a fair share.
So my question is: is there a way to limit an IP/application's bandwidth usage via a non-router control panel method, without having to do a hard reset on the router? I have tried in vain to use the Android app I used, but all it takes is a router reboot to disable it (said user knows how to reset the router). It's been days since we've had a stable connection for legitimate schoolwork usage because of this one IP that's using up all the resources.
The router on our floor is a Linksys WRT54G2 and my operating system is Windows 7 64-bit.
We have a Cisco ASA 5520 supporting multiple VPNs - both remote-access and Lan-to-Lan. We would like to monitor the bandwidth utilization of the IPSec Lan-to-Lan tunnels.
The infrastructure has PIX515E as the Firewall and few Web Servers and Database Servers inside. Is it possible to retreieve information regarding the bandwidth available at the outside interface of PIX (Internet link utilization ) utilized by each of the nodes seperately? I could use SNMP to get the overall data transfer at the Outside interface of PIX but isit possible to get utilization details of individual nodes ? Is Netflow an option ?
I have been assigned to find out the nature of the network's bandwidth utilazation. Is there a way to analyze traffic and breakdown the traffic on the ASA5510?
