i need to recover a router Cisco 2801. I lost the password and the "no service password-recovery" is configured. I have done many attempts with the procedure in this link :URL
I'm in process of purchasing a new Cisco routers for our branches that will be used primary to enable IPSec virtual tunnel interfce with "tunnel mode ipsec ipv4". does the default IOS IP Base supports this feature? or i need to purchase DATA license or SECURITY license?
I have a Linksys RV042 10/100 4-Port VPN Router with Firmware Version 1.3.13.02 and l have noticed that the Router keeps rebooting on average every couple of hours. We have it setup for Load Balancing 2 ADSL Services.
I've got a WRVS4400N V2 Router that just keeps rebooting itself. It powers up, the red LED stays lit, it gets part way through the boot process and reboots itself. I would like to try to re flash the device, but don't know if this is possible in the condition that it is in.
I just got a DIR-655, and I got it working, with some effort. However, the wifi stops connecting to the internet every few hours and requires a reboot. Only a reboot of the wifi portion of the router's software, I go to Manual Wireless Connection Setup and save it without changing anything. LAN connections don't experience this.
Recieved this E4200 as a repplacement for a v1 that kept dropping wireless connection. Now after about 1.5 months the router keeps rebooting. Tried resetting, etc...no luck. Calling Cisco now.
I recently formatted the flash drive of an 1800 router and replaced it with an updated image. However, the new features within the new image aren't reflected in the router. I believe that this is because a reboot would be required for the updates in the new image to be reflected in the router i.e. the image needs to be added to the system. How to get the image to the system without a reboot and if by doing so I would get all the new features from the image. For example, the show version below shows the old image in the system as [code]
I might have to reboot my operating system, I have a Cisco wireless router, so I have to reset it, and set it up again after i reboot my operating system?
I recently updated the firmware to 1.0.02 on my E4200 and since then it's been rebooting randomly about once a day. It was working perfectly fine before the firmware update.
I have a problem with my EA4500. Router permanently rebooting. - router is not visible on the network. Ping to 192.168.1.1 - loss of all packets; - hard reset (30/30/30) does not work.
I just bought an EA-4500 and i am having problems with rebooting the device. Every time I change a setting and the router reboots it never starts up again - and the logo LED doesn't flash, it is on constant. I have to cut the power and wait for about 15 minutes, and then it boots up fine - logo flashing and all.
I purchased the DIR-615 last week, and have experienced intermittent loss of internet connectivity, and automatic rebooting numerous times a day. A solid connection is up for 90% of the time; but you never know when connection will be lost. When connection is lost it automatically comes back after about 5 minutes with the router rebooting itself. I though I would ask for assistance here prior to taking it back to Fry's. I was previously using a 6 year old Linksys, and had no problems for years until it recently decided to die.
Specific information:
DIR 615 Hardware Version I1 Firmware Version 9.01NA (I updated from 9.0)
I have an E4200 v1 wireless router. Intermittently, my hard wired laptop (and hard wired desktop) loose Internet connnectivity and when I look at the 4200 I see the status light flashing slowly like it was just rebooted. I am runnong 1.0.04, have reset to factory, reflashed the 1.0.04 code and done a 30-30-30 reset (so far no drops since the 30-30-30 reset but we'll see).
I have an N750 DB router and it has been rebooting every few hours for no reason. This has just started happening about 4 days ago. I don't know why but when I check the system logs its filled with the following. [code]
Recently I have bought a 2821 router from an auction. The router did have some configuration and password on it. I tried to break into it by restating it and pressing control and pause break signal. Old cisco method. Now when I try this method on my 2821. It does say that password recovery is disabled on the router. After this message router proceed with normal boot process. How to break the password ? Even if I loose the configuration.
We have a cisco 2801 router in class which has a disabled password recovery. We tried almost everything, we cannot get into ROMmon and the break sequence doesn't work in any program (hyper terminal, putty, teraterm pro).
Here is the log from hyperterminal:

i just wanna know if it's possible to perform a router password recovery using the reload command and then issue the break sequence instead of doing an off/on on the power switch. i often find in the docs to use the latter.also, is there a way to retain the startup-config on a router when we re-enable the password recovery functionality (no service password-recovery). i've just tried this on one of our 877 and when i hit the break sequence, it went back to factory default setting.
I understand that the password has to be changed the first time we login to Cisco 3945 router but i failed to do that and its not allowing me to connect using default username/password.
I need to break into a 2901 router to recover the passwords. Cisco's methodology for password recovery on 2900 seriews routerssays to remove the compact flash card and reboot into RMON. There is no external compact flash card on a 2901. Is there acompact flash card inside the box? Or can you use the older method of rebooting and then hitting ctl+break to boot into RMON?
My E4200 is rebooting every time it sees traffic on any port, including the internet port. It does not reboot itself if there is nothing plugged in.
Already tried: soft reset (power off for 30 seconds), soft reboot via back panel button, hard reset (press reset for 30, unplug and hold reset for 30, plug in while holding reset for 30).
As I continue to have various issues with my revision A version of the DIR-825, does an updated firmware is in the works? Or has revision A been DE-supported by Dlink?
I'm still having issues with: Share port printer no longer being recognized/usable until router rebootedLoss/overload of router which causes all clients (wired and wireless) to loss connectivity Router rebooting itself periodically
i have a 7201 router with NPE-G2. i have a design which i have the option to send all the traffic through a GRE tunnel or a L2TPV3 tunnel.which method is more CPU consumption ?

There are a few situations were I'd like to be able to use the locally configured account on a device but still have ACS in place.I want to complete this WITHOUT adding the locally configured account into ACS.I have tried setting the advanced option under Identity for if an account is not found to "Continue" however this causes the account to be allowed as long as a password is typed (any password, as long as its not blank).
