For some reason I am unable to retain the system message logging and config archive references after a reboot of the router. I need to be able track config changes and retain the ability for the customer to recover the original config should they destroy the config through any misguided fiddling on their part. There is no remote management and these router need to be recoverable. I know this used to configured by default on earlier routers as I've checked on teh ones we have, but checking through the configuration has not worked and i have everything configured the same but system messages are still lost on reboot. Im using Cisco 3845 running IPbase 12.4(3) and the config i have is shown below.

My WRT400N wireless router continuously disconnects and I have to keep restarting it. I have tried to download an update for it, but once i download the zip file and try to open it, it just keeps duplicating the file.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have bought a DIR 615 router one week ago and although my main goal was to use it at better wireless speeds (using the N feature) it turned out that I can only use it as a normal router. The hardware version is H1 and the software ver is 8.0.
The problem is that whenever I turn on the wireless with default configuration, the router immediately starts resetting by itself over and over again. Sometimes it doesn't reconnect, but as soon as I try to connect to it using one of my laptops, it immediately starts restarting. After it starts the continuous resetting, it is very hard to reset its settings using the hardware reset button, because I don't even have time to press it for 10 seconds. If the wireless is turned off, everything works.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a ~3 month old e1000 v2. In the last 24 hours it appears to have died, all 4 ethernet lights plus the power light and the one to it's left are on continuously. Before I dispose of it, does anyone know if this really is a hardware fail or is there some way to recover it? I've tried a few resets, power cycles and leaving it off for a few hours in the hopes that would bring it back to life but to no avail.

Only a reboot of the wifi portion of the router's software, I go to Manual Wireless Connection Setup and save it without changing anything. LAN connections don't experience this.

I recently formatted the flash drive of an 1800 router and replaced it with an updated image. However, the new features within the new image aren't reflected in the router. I believe that this is because a reboot would be required for the updates in the new image to be reflected in the router i.e. the image needs to be added to the system. How to get the image to the system without a reboot and if by doing so I would get all the new features from the image. For example, the show version below shows the old image in the system as [code]

View 5 Replies View RelatedI purchased the DIR-615 last week, and have experienced intermittent loss of internet connectivity, and automatic rebooting numerous times a day. A solid connection is up for 90% of the time; but you never know when connection will be lost. When connection is lost it automatically comes back after about 5 minutes with the router rebooting itself. I though I would ask for assistance here prior to taking it back to Fry's. I was previously using a 6 year old Linksys, and had no problems for years until it recently decided to die.

I have an E4200 v1 wireless router. Intermittently, my hard wired laptop (and hard wired desktop) loose Internet connnectivity and when I look at the 4200 I see the status light flashing slowly like it was just rebooted. I am runnong 1.0.04, have reset to factory, reflashed the 1.0.04 code and done a 30-30-30 reset (so far no drops since the 30-30-30 reset but we'll see).

Already tried: soft reset (power off for 30 seconds), soft reboot via back panel button, hard reset (press reset for 30, unplug and hold reset for 30, plug in while holding reset for 30).
As I continue to have various issues with my revision A version of the DIR-825, does an updated firmware is in the works? Or has revision A been DE-supported by Dlink?
I'm still having issues with: Share port printer no longer being recognized/usable until router rebootedLoss/overload of router which causes all clients (wired and wireless) to loss connectivity Router rebooting itself periodically
Our internet has been acting strange the last couple days, it will just disconnected for like 5-10 seconds, then come back. Happens anywhere between every couple minutes or every 15-30 seconds. There are two computers on the network, and it happens to both computers at the exact same time.

I've got a brand new C887VA-W-E-K9 that is up and running on a BT VDSL connection. That side of it is fine... But the integrated AP module on it keeps reloading.. I can be on the AP console reading the config via 'sh run' and suddenly it'll be loading the OS again... There's no errors logged, no errors on the console or anything... (I also have yet to get the radio working, it starte dbefore I'd finished the config).
It doesn't seem to be anything I'm doing as if I just leave the console, it'll just sit there... reloading every few minutes... (Although sometimes it seems to stay up for longer).
The console just looks like this. WHich is taken from listing the running config and while sitting at the --more-- prompt... Bang...

Happens every few hours, but is fixed by reconnecting my router. Although this is inconvenient because I run an IRC chat and a small web server. I'm not sure if those would cause such a problem, but I hope not

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently moved in a new apartment. At the building there is something like a centralized internet. There is a huge machine which is connected to every apartment of building via a cable modem(Netsys nh-300sp). Here is an image of system. And when I first came to apartment they gave me a username and password which I made login when i firstly opened a page on safari. When I plug in an ethernet cable to my macbook-air it connects and everything s good for a moment then it starts to kick me out randomly and continuously. When I look to Network Diagnostics: ISP is red, internet and network are yellow.I tried also using a manual DHPC address, but then ISP is green but Internet and server are red or yellow. I cant even reach to modems admin panel, maybe because of the system of building.
View 1 Replies View Relatedmy internet will disconnect sometimes for a split second, for a few minutes or for hours at a time. My boyfriend and I have directly connected his computer to the modem, and the internet is working. I have also called our ISP and asked if there are any problems on their end, and our modem is working fine with no issues. So we had come to the conclusion that our router was at fault. It was a Linksys E1500, we investigated online and found that many people had the same problem and it was solved through buying a new router. We have since bought a new router a D-link N150, it worked for a week and a half, but now our internet is back to disconnecting randomly throughout the day. We have tried resetting the router back to factory settings to an avail.
