Cisco VPN :: RV 120W Connection Fails With Banner Text Response
Sep 14, 2011
I have a CISCO RV 120W router. I have set it up with a static IP address from Verizon. Internet can be accessed.I just want IPSec passthrough for some people who can connect with Nortel contivity client to the company RSA server. I can make only one connection. The second connection fails with 'banner text' response issues. One connection always works. The router has the latest firmware. I have enabled IPsec passthru.
I want my computer to send a SMS txt message to my cell phone when a certain text message get written to by another program. Purpose is to alert to a certain action, an event, has occured that the program is monitoring. The cell phone uses Verizon as the carrier.
Is there a way to put a login banner on the ACS admin web page? Either display it directly on the web page or do a redirect to a banner page? Can I edit the admin pages directly or does ACS provide a mechanism to add this type of feature?
I'm experiencing some problems with AAA authentication banners and banner logins.I'm trying to use spaces and empty lines, but when login, all the lines are after each other, no empty lines, no spaces. The problem appears on a 3750 with IOS version 12.2(5)SE2.
I upgraded my 6509-Es (sup720s) to 122-33.SXJ3 and now the banner command can not end when I include the ^ at the end. It seems to be stuck in text edit mode IE and usually hitting enter following that brings me back to command but it doesn't do anything but bring me to the next line.
I'm having trouble with a Cisco Catalyst 2950 Series Switch where by I'm following the procedure from Cisco's web site to remove the Banner and login information, url..
Each command is being accepted by the switch from following the information given within the help sheet above, the problem i have now is when i turn the power off then turn the switch back on I'm still getting the banner and login information even though i have follwed Cisco's help correctly.
chrome has an application that auto translates any text that is selected, directly in the browser.is there something similar for IE7? I dont wanna install some toolbar or any visible program, just a program similar to the chrome application, that translates selected text and displays it in a pop up.
I am running a Cisco 878-K9 Router, IOS 12.4(11)T1, as a Firewall with EasyVPNServer. The VPN Server was created with the wizard from the SDM.Everything works fine, BUT the VPN connections fail after about 10 minutes.
I'm trying to log on to my DIR-615. When I enter 192.168.0.1, the D-Link logo appears at top, with a generic drop down menu, a password entry field and a submit button. I enter my password and click submit, then a different screen comes up with no text at all, just two generic unlabeled buttons. Having stumbled onto Bill Gates' Lost Mines with this, how do I get the plain router page back?

We are using a 5510 and have issues trying to use VPN with full tunnel to connect from inside the firewall to a customer site. I don't seem to have a problem when using split tunnel profiles. How would you troubleshoot this?
I've got trouble using PPTP connections with the RV220W small business router. When trying to connect to the router of a branch office with the Windows PPTP client (i.e. on Windows 7) from outside the companies network first everything seems to be in working order (user name and password are checked, the device is registered in the remote subnet) but then a window pops up saying there has been an error connecting.
Here is some information on my setup:RV220W with firmware 184.108.40.206It connects to the Internet using PPPoE dialindyndns account configured and workingAnother router working in "Act as a DSL modem" mode is used as a modem (AVM FRITZ!Box 7170)The RV220W is maintaining a IPSec tunnel to a main office, which is working finethere are 2 local VLANs (one with access to VPN tunnel, one without), each with a own subnet (192.168.201.0/24 and 192.168.202.0/24)PPTP users are on a seperate subnet (192.168.203.101 - 192.168.203.111) My first guess was, that the intermediate router acting as the modem could be a problem, but i verified all settings on that router and it should not filter anything. After all port forwardings, the IPSec tunnel and so on are working.
I have set this "Black Friday" printer up and it shows it is transmitting wireless. However, I cannot get my PC to find it! I have tried everything I know. I am not an expert but is there something in my Verizon router that might be preventing it? I don't know what else it could be but maybe there is an expert out there that can.
I cant get this damn thing to connect to the internet (att dsl modem). I have ran the installation cd mulitple times and also configured it using the http. If i reset it while everything is hooked up and it makes an internet connection using DCHP (I think its called), but i need a PPPoE connection.
It seems to change my password (the username one that access the modem). The way i know is it always has more characters that the one i was provided by my isp with (*****). I dont enter any information other than my username or password (IP is dynamic).
I'm part way through trying to set a Catalyst 4510R to factory defaults, One thing I'm stumped on is how do i remove the Customer Disclaimer eg what commands do i need to remove this and any other customer text within the switch, below is copy of text from the switch with customers details omitted.
i'm having problems connecting to my RV220W using PPTP. The first time I set up PPTP on the box, everything worked just fine. Now, however, PPTP just won't work. No matter how I try to tweak various settings on the router, the connection fails. I have tried connecting with Windows 7, Android and OSX with no success. The router came with version 220.127.116.11, and I have tried downgrading to 18.104.22.168 and upgrading to 22.214.171.124, but alas, I can't seem to make PPTP work again.
problem with my Dell Latitude D600 Laptop,I tried re-installing my OS, so now with a fresh new OS the wireless capabilities worked fine, but only for the first day, then the next morning the whole problem began again. Now it would say " No supported wireless adapters found" and when i would open the device manager some devices would have the yellow exclamation point, some of the devices would say "Intel PCIC compatible PCMICA controller" and " PCMICA MTD-0002" or just "card bus controller" and many other ones that would alternate when they appear. And also sometimes my network adapters would completely disappear from the list. I also tried scanning my whole drive for viruses and nothing was found.
Then i found that if you disconnect the wireless adapter physically and re connect it, it might work, but it didn't. I should also add that before this problem for some time i had another problem with the same laptop that had to do with the battery malfunctioning, and it displays a 4 orange , 1 green pattern sequence on the LED charge display. But it had never affected any of the laptops hardware or software before, so I don't know if that might have anything to do with it.
When I start my laptop, an Acer 7715Z, it will try to connect to the internet, but often fails.I then try it a few times manually. But the first 5 minutes I can try as often as I like but it will give a 'problem' popup, offering me a windows troubleshooter (which doesn't find the problem).I just have to try manually over and over again until it finally connects. Then my problems are over and I can internet without loosing connection. This doesn't only happen at home, but also when I'm at relatives. So my modem or ISP is not the problem. Also, my other equipment works just fine (mac, iphone, ipod, netbook).I've updated the Broadcom 802.11n adapter driver, run a virus/malware check, etc. but nothing works. The wireless lan adapter I assume basically works ok as it doesn't loose connection once I get online? Is there another setting I could check or optimise? I find it so strange. It's like the first 20-30 times trying to manually connect something is blocking it and once I get through I'm online without problems or losing connection. As I mentioned earlier, my other equipment go online almost immediately. Is there some windows setting that could block my manual attempts for a few times before letting me in? Could the broadcom adapter be faulty after all, even when after connecting it stays connected and problem free? Any control panel or other setting I could check first before sending it to be checked/repaired?
I'm running Windows 7. As stated in the title, once I see the screen blink, I know I have a few moments of connectivity left. The screen will continue to blink, then the wireless network connection icon goes red with an "x" through it. The computer continues to work (albeit with the screen blinking), but with no connection to the Internet. Checking Device Manager indicates no conflicts. Manually pressing the "wireless connectivity button" on this Compaq, which shows green=connected, only turns it red for a second, then back to green as if the adapter is enabled. Doing this prior to the blink-failure cuts the wireless connection as it should. I added iTunes about a month ago, the problem started about two weeks ago.
I am working with 3750 switch.I console the switch and turn it on and it doesn’t show text in hyper terminal with any BAUD (I tried all the speeds). The hyper terminal works with other switches so the problem is not with the hyper terminal.when I tried to break the password it stuck after I was writing "flash_init" and when I entered or typed text it show only garbage characters. I tried to break the password with all the speeds and it shows garbage output. I tried to turn on the switch and hold control + break and it showed the text only with the speed 115200, but after I left holding and tried to type it showed only garbage again. Also I tried to copy text from the notepad to the hyper terminal.
Is it possible to regain the PSK from the security tab from a 5500 controller in clear text?I need to check the current used password without resetting it, but I fail to find the password in the configuration (CLI & web interface)Obviously I do have admin access to my controller.
If I look at a site like wikipedia for example ,it has lots of text. If I capture those packets which made up that page using wireshark I cant find that text anywhere no matter what filter I use and even though I turn on ASCII. Is it because text is being rendered unreadable by some kind of compression?
We are using an ASA with 8.4 in transparent mode. Connection fails when a host on inside tries to connect to a server on outside. This server uses mac-address 0100.5E00.0000 to load balance but replies with real mac-address.Firewall logs "Deny TCP".ARP inspection is disabled.

So I am having issues connecting to the internet. I can connect during safe mode but not on normal boot. I ran a diagnostic and it said that the IP Gateway failed. I read a previous post and did the command promp "ipconfig/all" and this is what it said:

I have norton, and have recently run Malwarbytes, Microsoft Malicious Removal Tool, and Dell PC Tune Up
I can't seem to skype or video chat of any sort (ie: aim video chat, facebook video chat, etc.) on my computer. Whenever I start skype or try to start a video chat on aim/facebook, it fails and my internet disconnects for everyone. I don't know what could be wrong. Using the same wireless internet, my friends are able to video chat on their macbooks. It seems like my computer is the only one that can't video chat. Video chatting works when I use a sprint internet card. I have a sony vaio laptop running on windows 7. Our router in our apartment at school is a D-link wireless N? In addition to this problem, my internet loves to disconnect randomly too...this problem also persists at home with my Cisco Linksys router (model WRT160N V3) and Speedstream 5100 modem.
I have a E4200 V1 with firmware 188.8.131.52 installed The problem is that when I connect the cable from my modem to my router and recycle both I get a rapidly fashing Cisco light and can not connect to the internet. If I remove that cable and recycle the router my network works but (obviously) I have no internet connectivity. This was working (almost 2 years) without issue until today.I updated the firmware and did a factory reset and neither resolved the issue. My next experiment is to see if I can't get log files (since the factory reset) but I can't do that at this time.
I purchased and installed the above router to replace a working router that had a problem with our new condo location. The old router couldn't access one of our computers. The EA 3500 worked seamlessly for 6 months. Now the connection fails intermittently (more times off than on) from that one computer. It is two rooms over from the router & modem. These are now in a fixed location that cannot be moved.
we are using Cisco VPN client to access our corporate network.I have 5 new notebooks Dell Latitude E6410 OS Windows 7 Professional x64, with identical hardware configuration.I downloaded Cisco VPN Client 5.0.07.440 (64 bit) and installed it on all notebooks. It works fine on 3 notebooks, while on 2 notebooks the VPN connection fails with error:
Secure VPN collection terminated locally by the client. Reason 403: Unable to contact the security gateway
We use a smartcard for VPN access (etoken from Aladdin)
Here an extract from Cisco log:

It seems the problem is in the certificate, but I verified and Cisco client says it's ok. It's also the only valid certificate in MMC->Certificates->Personal.Furthermore, also using other smartcard (etokens) of other users it doesn't work.
i have a dell inspiron E1405. my laptop will not search for any wireless networks. i have wireless at my house and my toshiba computer. will find the wireless but the dell wont. i dont know what to do. i have tried to use the repair button but it just says it fails because there is no internet connection. i have tried to reset my internet and it is still not working.
I purchased two WUSB600N V2 wireless adapters recently and have had nothing but problems on an otherwise stable network where I have iPads, iPhones, Netbooks, media centres, wireless printers, Notebooks and other USB PC-based network devices working without problems.
The WUSB600Ns are connected to desktop PCs, running WIndows XP SP3. I have removed the Linksys Network Management software and use Microsoft's wireless network management software. I am running the latest drivers 184.108.40.206 for the cards. My WAP is a Belkin F5D-8236-4 running in WAP only mode. It is set to 40Mhz Channel 11 primary, Channel 7 secondary. Protected Mode is off, Broadcast SSID is on. I run WPA2-PSK AES for encryption. Note: I've tried all combinations of bandwidth and channel settings. I've run Netstumbler to find clear air channels - 11 seems best.
The issues are:
* seldomly connects at boot automatically without intervention.
* occasionally does not find WAP to connect to.
* sometimes will not connect to WAP - sits at "Acquiring Network Address".
* sometimes will not even get to Acquiring Network Address.
* Will often, once connected, after a while lose connection - the timeframe is inconsistent.
All of my other devices do not have these issues. I've been working on this issue for about a week trying to stabilise, even get a consistent failure pattern, but I'm about to send them both back. These are close to the most frustrating devices I've configured and I've got a lot of stuff on my network.
I have a 3845 router. Setup SSH Version 2generated rsa keys (1024)set login localtransport input ssh and telnet is enabled since I can't get ssh connection working When I connect using SSH, I get the following error. server refused authentication protocol.
