It has been work for a year without problem. We didn't do any change. Recently, we have to reboot thist router to make it work. After the rebooting, the router will work for a while. It could work from few days to a week, and tt stops working again.
View 7 RepliesI have one cisco 2811 router.One cisco 4503 core switch.And one cyberoam UTM.VLAN 16 on router connected to VLAN 16 of core switch.VLAN 3 on router Connected to UTM.VLAN 2 on router connected with Internet Leased line. And one MPLS VPN terminated at Fast Ethernet port.All ports are fast Ethernet Port on router and all Gigabit Ethernet Ports on Core Switch.Now coming to the point, whenever the router becoming inactive the fast Ethernet ports are working but switch module ports not working. and that point we have to reboot the router.

My router has started to drop its connection every week or so at random times. (its not the IP reset). My indication is i lose internet connection. But when it does this, i cannot even log into the Router. Its like it drops off the network completely.im still running FW 1.10, but im curious if this could be an outside attack as well. Its hard to get this info because i have to reset the router (ie unplug it) and that clears the log.. It also seems to reset the date/time as well.

We noticed that when one of the clients -- an iPod Touch -- is not being used on the wireless network (that person being away), the router runs without failing. Unfortunately Syslog was not configured on the ACE and local logging got cleared after restart. The current IOS version is A2(3.2). The modules uptime was around 300 Days. After the disc reformat and reload of XP from the operating system CD, and then loading the drivers CD, I cannot connect to the internet. The plug for the ethernet cable is red/yellow on two different jacks in the house. The modem is supplied by ATT U-verse. The TCP/IP is connected at 400 Mb/s but showing "0" data transfer in or out. The internet connection was working before the XP reload. I did not backup an "image" and so I may have lost my registries? Is there a way to "turn on" the ethernet port?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWith over 45,000 views, something must be wrong. Like many of the others here, we can't work out what's wrong with our network and why the cisco 4410n behaves so badly.
Our experience is just like everyone elses. At some point in time, mainly between 1 day and 1 week, the router just stops responding. The problem appears to be on the LAN side, as quite often when it fails, the wireless is still active and clients are associated. Some time ago I was Cisco certified, so I have had faith in Cisco products. I also sold them for a living, which made it a natural choice, but I am struggling to come to terms with my purchase here.
I had tried:
All the latest firmwares from March until now (including the latest) Full resets of the device, including "reset to factory defaults" Pegging the autonegotiate to fixed 10/100 Changing channels on the wireless (although as mentioned, it appears LAN side issues)
This thread has given me different views. Other sites also talk about changing beacon settings, but I'm not sure that's the right way to go.I would consider syslogging the results and getting extended debug happening, but when the problem happens and the device hangs, LAN is lost so the messages are also lost.
I find it hard to believe that so many people can have this problem and no one at Cisco can reproduce the fault. So, here's a pretty simple network for Cisco to experiment with which clearly has the problem:
Flat GBit network
Dlink DGS-1016D 16-port GB switch (unmanaged)
4-5 wireless clients (mainly iPhones & iPad)
The volume of traffic is low - no huge file transfers. The expected uptime is between 3-6 days. As a matter of interest, I also tried POE to drive it using a TP-Link injector. The device worked perfectly, but the problem did not seem to be affected.
It might be heading towards time to log a call on this. I was hoping the vast number of existing callers would have given the support staff enough to solve the problem, but it appears Cisco is none-the-wise on the fault, let alone the solution.
As a matter of interest, maybe a good interrim solution would be for Cisco to use the watchdog timer to ping a known address and perform a soft-reset if the address (on the local network) did not respond after a period of time. This atleast would stop people having to crawl under desks and pull plugs to reset the device as it has no power switch.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a strange issue which happened to me last weekend with two ASA 5515X on version 8.6(1)2. There was a planned power shutdown which only affected the primary firewall. Failover was configured and running successfully. The configuration was also saved after every change made. After power was shut and primary firewall went off the secondary took over like it should but unfortunately all configuration was gone. We immediately powered on the primary again but also this one lost the configuration.
While reconfiguring the firewall we ran into another problem. The devices won't pair although it was the correct configuration. After three times removing and adding the same failover configuration the devices accepted the failover and worked together again.
I went through the bug toolkit and white papers regarding ASA 5515x and this particular version but were not able to find anything.
I want to configure BGP but i am finding it very difficult to know BGP as I am new to this concept.
What is theoretical and practical approach to configure bgp??

I configured Any Connect SSL VPN on Cisco 2811 router. It works perfectly when I lo gin via web and run secure mobility client. However, when I connect directly from the mobility client connection fails. It does not even ask me for username and password.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI get stuck in one case. One of my customer has two FTTH lines. I have to config PPPoE in routers. In one line I config succesfully, but one line never up. I call to ISP they ask me to config extactly VLAN id 10 in the physical subinterface. But in subinterface there is no command "pppoe-client dial-pool-number". I check the old modem FTTH, they also config VLAN 10 in Wan interface. I tell ISP why we have the same two FTTHs, but two differrent config ways. ISP says because the two line run in two different infrastructure, two different devices. I don't know how to do now? stay in customer side or ISP side. Here is my PPPoE config:
