I have a Cisco 4006 (old school) and I am trying to setup etherchannel over 4 port. The issue I am having is flapping, it see's two IP addres on the same MAC address. The reason for this is bonding, so all 4 ports are bonded, but I have two servers that need to send a heartbeat between the two server hence the second IP, and the other IP address to send/recieve.
View 3 RepliesWe have configuration of Etherchannel in Cisco 6509 connecting to Cisco 6513 switch, both running on CatOS. This is a group of 8 ports in 6509, due to some reasons one port in Etherchannel group went bad. I have disabled that bad port now. Now I have to delete that bad port from etherchannel group (First task) and add a new port to the group ( 2nd task). I have tried many cisco documents to completely delete the etherchannel port, but no use.

I have a Catalyst 4006 with Supervisor II engine. I have 48 port 10/100/1000 blades installed in it for connection to my servers. I am having a lot of problems with performance when connecting servers that are using 100 MB NICs. The speed of the connection is really bad. I have attempted setting the ports and NICs to 100MB Full duplex instead of auto-detect, but still get the same results.
I also have a 10/100 quad-port card installed in a NetApp filer. All four ports are trunked together and connect to 4 ports in the Catalyst. The ports in the Catalyst are trunked using the Port Channel feature of the CatOS. When I look at the port statistics on 3 of the 4 ports from the quad-card, there are a ton of runts and errors (both transmit and receive). The 4th port is fine, no errors.
I have an older 4006 with a Supervisor II+. We now need OSPF support, which the Sup II+ does not provide. I have access to a Supervisor III (WS-X4014), which will provide OSPF support. Question is, are there any gotchas to shutting down the switch, replacing Supervisor Engines and then powering up? What about the flash card? On my current system, it appears that I am only using bootflash: , which is where the IOS resides (see below). Since my startup config is in nvram and my IOS is in bootflash, what's the purpose of the flash card in slot0: ? and where does NVRAM and bootflash actually live on a 4006 ( on the Supervisor Engine?)

I run a side business repairing and cleaning viruses/malware from PCs and would like the business subnet not to be able to mix with (and possibly infect) the "home" subnet.Before I knew what I was doing, I set up a simple two router "chained" network by hanging an old SMC router off my main Airport Extreme router, but I've since learned that's not ideal, since the "work" network machines can see everything on the "home" network. So, here's what I want to do. I want to put the new third router right after my cable modem (ISP). I want to keep my Airport Extreme and all devices attaching to it (home subnet) off one LAN port of this new router and my old SMC router off another LAN port of the new router (the test subnet). Currently, the IPs are: [code]My concern in setting up a "Y" configuration is that I have some wireless IP webcams on the Airport Extreme that are using port forwarding (both UDP and HTTP) so I can view them from wherever I am on the Internet, not just from within my home network.
What's the best way to make sure the port forwarding from devices on the Airport Extreme subnet works through the "new" router and out through to the Internet? Do I have to open the same ports on the new router? If so, does anyone have an example using the addresses above? Should I just put the Airport Extreme in the DMZ of the new router (so everything is just passed through - or will that allow my test subnet to see the home subnet? Some other way?

NO DMZ...I do not have the option under firewall to select port forwarding. The problem is, after everything checked and triple checked, I still cannot get to https://external_IP. I can post configs if needed, but I really did replicate another ASA almost exactly.An online port scan shows my external IP as "not listening on port 443".However, when I run on the ASA :

So it does appear to be listening on the external IP on the outside interface correctly.I went ahead and tried the whole "change the ASDM port" as you can see from the inside interface being changed to 444 but management isn't even enabled on the outside interface so I'm not sure why it is acting this way.
The outside interface is plugged into a DSL modem. I don't think this DSL modem has any real intelligence, but I was going to disconnect the ASA and plug my laptop into the outside interface (on the same subnet) and then see if I could reach it. That was the only thing I could think of...that possibly the DSL modem was blocking the inbound traffic.
I have Cisco 2910 router that have 3 interfaces:
g0/0 - LAN
g0/1 - WAN1
g0/2 - WAN2
I would like to configure port forwarding in such way that connections to both WAN interface on identical ports will be redirected to a single host in a private network. When I issue command: ip nat inside source static tcp 10.10.10.X 8080 interface g0/1 8080 everything is fine, until I add the second command: ip nat inside source static tcp 10.10.10.X 8080 interface g0/2 8080
After that, the first statement is just replaced by the second one, not added to configuration.
I'm trying to get a DS lite connected to my university's wifi, which I learned doesn't broadcast a Wireless-b signal, which a DS needs to connect. Can I setup a my own router connected to an ethernet port, configure it to boardcast wireless-b and get on wifi through that? Let's say I have 3 APs, all connected to a WLC 5508,Each AP has a computer that is connected to it, Computer A, B and C, all on the same Vlan with same SSID
Is it possible to configure so
A and B can not talk to each other but both can talk to C ?
Something like "protected port" feature in the switch world.
I set up a port-channel trunk between a acess switch 3750 ( int gi2/0/1 and gi2/0/2) and Core 6509( int gi7/11 and gi7/12).
On the both the 3750& 6509 I configured:
interface Port-channel15
switchport
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport trunk allowed vlan 100,103
switchport mode trunk
But the ports on the core g7/11 and g7/12 keep shutdown and when I do show interfaces port-channel 15, it show the interface is shutdown.
We recently moved 8 pc's from a room where they each had port on the switch to a room where there is only one port for all of them. I setup a DLINK DIR632 Router in there and they connect thru the one port thru the switch to the gateway which gets them out to the internet.The problems is I need to be able to remote desktop into these 8 PC's and I need them to be able to print to the network printer. I am using a Linksys WRT54G Broadband router as the gateway connecting the switch to the internet. The DLINK's dhcp server is on for the 8 PC's. The Linksys' dhcp server shows the DLINK as IP 192.168.1.19 on the network.I know I have to use advanced routing settings but I'm not sure about how what to make the subnet mask and IP's on both routers. I believe I need to turn off the dhcp server on the DLINK and have the Linksys' dhcp server serve all of the PC's but I'm not sure if thats the best way or if its possible.. I don't want to hack out fix only to find it breaks 3 days later.I used to do this stuff all day long in the 90's but its been a while and to me its like calculus.

Those and a win xp machine are all hooked up to a switch, and the win xp machine also has a wireless usb stick that is connected to my wireless router, and is being used to share internet to the rest of the machines. The test servers along with the NIC card on my win xp machine sit on a different subnet, however.When I remote into the win xp machine from my house, i can run a second remote desktop in the first session, into any of my servers. I want to do work on them, but its very laggy.
Is there a way I can setup a port either on the win xp machine or my wireless router so that i can remote directly into one of the servers? so if the win xp machine has a wireless ip address of 192.16.13.102, and one of the servers on the 2nd subnet has an internal ip of 192.2.2.4, can i have it so i can make, for instance, 192.16.13.102:6333 forward to 192.2.2.4? If not, is there any other way i can directly remote into one of the servers, by passing the first remote desktop into win xp? What settings would have to be the same across the line?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a pair of 6500's setup with VSS and there is currently only one link between then. However one end of the link is on Po10 and the other end is on Po25. If I move the Po25 over to Po10, will things break? It seems to be working fine now. I'm about to add a second link and I'm concerned about the current configuration. It makes more sense to me to have both ends of the same link on the same port-channel ID. I've seen documentation which states otherwise however.
