Attached is BGP confederation configuration and Topology. They are taken from "Routing TCP/IP Volume 2" book.AS 65000 is designed as a backbone AS connected to non-backbone AS 65535, 65534 and 65533. All are member AS's in AS 1200.I have couple of questions as i think some parts of Sunshine's and Talisman's configurations are incorrect.
1. The next-hop-self keyword is mentioned only for Panorama router, why the keyword wasn't mentioned for Nakiska and Talisman routers? .. As we know, the next hop is preserved throughout the confederation, therefore, next hop self should be configured in all member AS's inside the confederation. The same thing with Talisman, why the next hop keyword wasn't mentioned for Lakeridge and Sunshine?
2. Why the remote-as keyword wasn't mentioned for Panorama in Sunshine's configuration while the keyword was mentioned correctly for every neighbor routers in Talisman's configuration?
3. I don't understand the below statements that are stated in the book, as it conflicts with the rule "MEDs are preserved throughout the confederation"
"AS 65000 can safely send MEDs to AS 65535. A route that includes 65000 in its AS_PATH is not accepted by Sunshine or Talisman, so MEDs sent from those routers to AS 65535 are not seen by other member AS's".

I've an ASA 5505, running at ASA 8.2(2). I'm using ASDM 6.2(5).ASA is set up with Split Tunneling and it works perfectly.However, for a few users, I want all traffic, including Internet traffic, routed through the ASA.The spesific users IP address at internet should then be the same as ASA Outside address, not the client local address.The question is therefore:How to simple override the split tunneling at user level?Alternatively set up an "tunnel all" group policy for the specified users?

I have successfully implemented wireless guest access using 4402 WLC as the Anchor and 5508 as Foreign. The Anchor controller also provides dhcp services to guest clients. The 5508 is LAGged and there is no issue with the guests traffic separated from corporate. At a remote site, there is a 4402 WLC using LAG and also acting as a Foreign controller. But when a client connects to the guest WLAN, it obtains a corporate dhcp address instead of the dhcp address assigned from the Anchor controller. The guest WLAN setting is the same as with the 5508 controller i.e. DHCP server override is ticked and the management IP address of the Anchor controller is specfied. Also DHCP Addr required is ticked. Why the 4400 controller is not forwarding dhcp requests to the anchor controller and instead sending to the corporate dhcp server.

Radius Server: Fedora Core 13 / Freeradius with LDAP storage backend
I have followed the guide at URL with respective to building the LDAP and free radius server. 802.1x authorization and authenication correctly work. The session keys are returned from the radius server and the wlc send the appropriate information for the client to generate the WEP key.
However, the WLC does not override the VLAN assignment, even though I was to believe I set everything up correctly. From the packet capture, you can see that verfication of client is authorized to use the WLAN returns the needed attributes:
AVP: l=4 t=Tunnel-Private-Group-Id(81): 10
AVP: l=6 t=Tunnel-Medium-Type(65): IEEE-802(6)
AVP: l=6 t=Tunnel-Type(64): VLAN(13)

We have a three tier network with a centralized core switch and multitple distirbution swithces - all 6506 routers.EAch dist switch is its own PIM SM domain and the RP so we never send multicast between the dist switches and through the core.
We are putting in a centralized server at the core switch which has to provide specific mcast < X Groups > to all servers at the dist level on all dist switches.
So we would like to define the RP <core rp ip> just for the <X groups> on the Core switch and tell all the distribution switch that the core is the RP for just the <XGroups>
If we put these commands on all the switches including the cores will that set the rp just fo the <XGroups> to the <core rp ip > ?Do I have to define the deine an ACL for all groups if i define it for some or will groups not defined by the ACL defualt to the local RP?
do I have to put in the override command ? (We are using MSDP not autorp)

I have a Cisco 3725 running IOS 12.3. I have three WAN connections (2 x 100Mb and 1 x 2Mb serial) and I need to replace the 2Mb serial connection with a further 100Mb connection. However, I have not got any spare 100Mb sockets.My plan is to use a switch that supports VLANs, connect the three WAN connections to the switch, each in their own VLAN, then connect the switch to one port on the router, configuring the switch port as a trunk (so that it passes all three VLANs across the link) and configuring the router so that for that single Ethernet interface, it has three subinterfaces each configured for a VLAN that matches the VLAN used for the corresponding WAN connection.
I am a bit rusty on my IOS so I wanted to run this all past the community for feedback. [code] Any thoughts on whether or not that will work? Are there any commands from the original interface configurations that I CANNOT use when moving them to a subinterface? I'm thinking that the speed & duplex commands need to be removed?

We're getting "Connaction Timeout / Connection Failure" error messages several time per day. Here is our setup:
Verizon FiOS Internet (ONT Box) --> Cisco ASA 5505 --> EdgeMarc 4500 Router --> Cisco 300-24G Switch --> Dell PE1950 Servers
From past few months, we keep getting Connection Timeout and Connection Failure error messages in our vendor application which connects to SQL Server 2005. Also Terminal Server 2003 keep disconnecting for every few hours.After several days of troubleshooting, we come to know that this Cisco ASA 5500 is not working properly. When I access the ASDM, it shows several warning messages.I know there is a setting option to configure TimeOut, but is there anyway to test and track the ASA 5500 regarding this Timeout issues?

I am trying to confgure a VPN connection on a Cisco ASA 5505, and I am supposed to translate the inside network from 10.200 76.0 to host 10.1.4.204, and then from that scheme establish a VPN with the host 66.179.80.108 on network 192.168.50.0/24. I was told that this Cisco ASA appliace would be able to translate the network address as a mask in order to make the necessary connection with the other site connection.

I have an Acer 7750G, running Windows 7,connected to our home network using a Dynex router. At the moment this is the only laptop in the house that is having problems with connectivity. Starting yesterday, it only connects intermittently. When I run diagnostics, it says the following problems have been fixed but it either solves the problem for a few minutes only or not at all: "Problem with wireless adapter or access point" or "Default gateway is not available".
IPV6 connectivity also shows 'no internet access' and sometimes IPV4 reports no internet. I've unplugged and rebooted the modem and router a few times but that hasn't solved the problem.
Edit: I ran troubleshoot again, and it says the following issue is not fixed: "Wireless Network Connection 2 does not have a valid IP configuration".

so I would like to know if I have a cisco 800 series lets say with interface fa0/0 being my public interface.can I have on this interface an easyvpn connection to a hub and a crypto map xyz connection to another hub?all the tests I've done using gns3 indicate no. when I have both on the same interface only eazyvpn works. when I remove the eazyvpn from the interface then site to site works.I know with a crypto map I can have different tunnels but my question is a crypto map and an eazyvpn on the same outside interface can it work.if yes, do you have a configuration example of the 2 hubs and the spoke?

I just bought a "DLink Xtreme N Gigabit Router DIR-655" I configured it correctly. It works well for the wireless connection but my Lan connection (wired connection) does not work. The Lan computer connects to the router but cannot access the internet. All of my machines work OK with a Netgear G router, including the Lan computer.

I have problem with my Internet connection. Recently my Internet connection often get slow. There are 3 connections on the server running Windows Server 2003. 1st is External, 2nd is Internal and 3rd is VPN (please see attahement). There is nothing to do with External and Internal connections, and everytime the Internet connection get slow, I have to disconnection VPN (connection) and connect it again.

After connecting to the internet on my laptop, the internet connection will work great for 10 minutes or less than it slows down drastically or essentially not working at all. If I disconnect and reconnect it will work again but just for a short amount of time. The wireless connection works great on iPod, IPhone, and tablet. Downloaded Kaspersky Antivirus which said it fixed some viruses but internet got worse after that. Tried restoring the computer to factory settings and the internet stays connected for what seem a few minutes longer.

Every time I boot up my computer, everything will be working fine for about 5 -10 minutes, but after this, all my browsers will lose connection to the Internet. All of them: IE, firefox, chrome, even the steam browser, all of them just lose connection.The weird thing is, my net connection is perfectly fine: I can still play online games, still use online chat services, still open and use programs like utorrent. When I try connecting via anyconnect the logs (and anyconnect messages) state the connection "cannot be established due to no addresses being available for SVC connection'". The group etc has a dhcp scope assigned, (and this was working for the past year). I'm not sure what config changes (if any) he made before leaving.

I have an L2L VPN setup between two ASA 5505's. I can communicate across the VPN from either site without an issue. I'd like to be able to grant RA VPN users access to both LAN's but I'm not certain how to proceed (or if it's possible). I have split tunneling setup, and I've added both LAN subnets in the ACL. When I connect to either ASA via RA VPN, I can ping any host on the local subnet behind that ASA. However, when I try to ping hosts on the other side of the L2L VPN, it fails. I'm not sure if I have an ACL setup wrong, or if it's simply not possible.

Cisco 1811 device. Working great with connection from TWTELCOM, trying to add 2nd connection from BRTHOUSE set SLA's and metrics but config still isn't working. The connection won't come up and when I do show ip route ip address it doesn't show a metric so neither connection has a priority and the connection fails. I have recently installed SDM in order to access the internet with my 837 ADSL. I have configured the router's ethernet interface with ip address 10.10.10.1/24 (Default Gateway) and my PC to 10.10.10.2/24, I can both ping & telnet to the router from my PC, I also have pinged 8.8.8.8 on the router and that came up to 100%. But I am not getting the internet, I will show any configs from the router & post these for further information.

We have successfully connected the pix501 and asa 5505 firewallls using ipsec vpn.the firewalls and servers and beeing shutdown after office hours.the problem is everytime we turn on the firewalls, we need to do "ping" on vpn inorder to establish vpn connection with the two firewalls.After doing a ping command.
