i installed Data license(Evalutation) initally it took the license after reload, when i enter sh lic command the out put shows that Data license is installed and valid for...
But when i run sh ver command it only shws ipbase license and not the data license
I am wondering if i can install the LMS in two servers using one license not two?
Also i want to know if i can manage the same set of devices in both servers if they are using the same license or this will not work?
Should i select specific ranges of IP's for both server and in this case, i can use two servers with the same license?
I have purchased a PAK for my 2 cisco 1921 routers .I would like to to configure IP SEC or SSL for VPN connectivity on the routers. How do i convert the PAK into a license?

But I don't want to lose the security license that came with the router. When I look at the IOS downloads page on Cisco, all I see is universal images for all versions of 15.1.
My question is - where is the security license stored? In the IOS or programmed in somewhere else of the router? If I upgrade my router to one of the newer 15.1 universal images, will I lose my security license?

The main role it will play is a load balancer/failover between 2 connections from 2 different ISPs. what additions are required to be added to this piece of equipment to make the configuration work. Im researching the matter now and it seems an extra card whould be purchased in addition to the router. Also, i cant seem to find much information on the available licenses to go with the router. will i need a special license to utilize the balancer/failover feature? (ip base, data, SEC).
View 2 Replies View Relatedwe recently purchased L3 daughter cards (N55-D160L3-V2) for our 5548UPs along with the LAN Enterprise Services licenses (N55-LAN1K9).
I installed the cards and Ent Svcs lic this past weekend and everything went well excep that I couldn't enable the EIGRP feature .. apparently EIGRP requires the LAN Base (N55-BAS1K9-BUN) license even when you have the Enterprise lic installed, so I was able to dig up that license eventually (which comes with the L3 daughter card, incidentally). Another side effect of not installing the Lan Base lic is that the L3 card/module will be in an "offline" state until the Lan Base lic is installed. Either way, everything was working normally in L2 mode at this time.
So, here I was thinking I was ready to proceed with enabling L3 - this morning I installed the LAN Base license on one of the 5548s which apparently triggered the L3 Daughter card module to go active and triggered a switch reboot. Ok, not that big of a deal, knew that was probably coming. I expected the switch to come back up normally .. NOPE. The switch went into a continual reboot cycle where the console prompt would appear, then about 30 seconds later, would reboot again.
I finally ended up re-installing the original L2 card and the switch came right up. I see that LAN Base and LAN Enterprise are both still installed as well.
What have I done wrong here? Why did the switch go into a continuous reboot cycle once I installed the LAN Base license?

I wanted to know about EHWIC 8-Port configuration? We create Data and Voice VLANs and assign 8 ports to the VLANs. So how do VLANS communicate with each other? We cannot make Gi0/1 as sub interfaces and assign the same subnet IP’s as of VLAN IP’s , it wont accept. On 1921 router Assume Gi0/0 we connect to MPLS WAN. What happens to Gi0/1 where do we connect this?

Im asking above question because we will need to enable ip-sla on the mentioned router. as i read on the cisco webside, it says Cisco-ISR-1921/K9-IP Base support only IP-SLA RESPONDER feature nothing else. If Cisco-921/K9 does not support the above commands , should i go for ordering Cisco-1921-SEC/K9 ?

I have configured a vlan interface on a 3750 switch. there is aprox 4Mb active traffic flowing through the interface, but when I do a "show interface vlan (vlanid)" the output show zero bits in and zero bits out. Its a typical L3 config with one IP on the vllan interface acting as the gateway for the VLAN devices. Is this a normal behaviur ? and if so is there any way to get the traffic in/out stats. The end PC/devices are connected to this switch via an L2 TRUNK and I dont have access to the L2 switch on which the actual devices connect. so cant get the real time stats of those interfaces.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have installed a Cisco 1921 router in our company and i have stumbled upon an issue with the DNS.
We have a internal DNS server and an internal WEB server. In the DNS server there are records pointing to sites on the WEB server, this is working just fine.
The thing is when i use a public DNS such as 8.8.8.8 (googles public DNS) i cannot resolv the external IP of those sites. I do not want to access the sites and i do not want to send any packets to the sites. All i want is to query the public DNS and resolv the public IP where the site is.
I am installing Cisco blank CF upgrades (double the capacity of the CF that came with the router) in Cisco 3845 routers and I cannot get the IOS to load.
Network security requires tftp be disabled, so I am limited to xmodem. Slow, but it works. I know the IOS download is good, because I can load it on the CF that came with the router.
I can install, format and read the new flash. But the download locks up and bombs about 1/3 of the way through.
Note: CF that came with the router was "C" so I used the format flash: command. The new flash reads the same as the old, except that there is no file IOS loaded.
I've never had an issue upgrading an IOS, but this is my first shot at installing on a new CF.

He says has 3 static ips for the modem, and 1 of the network cables coming from the modem directly into the D-Link Router. I first attempted to just plug it into the uplink, and let DCHP do its magic, but I had no luck with that. I could connect to the router but it didn't have internet.
So I restarted the downstream router, and plugged the network cable into the 1st port, and suddenly I had internet on the wireless but it would constantly go up and down, and ping times were extreme erratic.
Need installing dlink router dir-615 version b2. I tried installing it but when i try to use my browsers, i'm redirected to my isp's web page, and i can not connect with skype.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOur last router seemed to be having problems so my roommate got a new one from Time Warner as a replacement. All of our other roommates had no problem at all when reconnecting to the new router. There are 4 of us, but any given time there may only be two of us using the internet....very seldom all 4 are home at the same time. The only computer having a problem happens to be mine and the only machine with Vista on it.
One of my roommates changed the router while I was away from my notebook which was running and connected to the internet at the time he made the switch. I don't know if this was the cause for all my troubles in the last week trying to figure out why I can't get back online, but I had no problems with the other router except for the signal dropping too low even when we were within a couple of feet of it. There were no changes made on my end nor did anyone else have to make any changes to their computers other than connecting with the new password. I often take my netbook with me and have connected to hundreds of other networks without a problem until this recent change. I can still log onto other wireless networks, but just not to our home wireless network .
I can use the Ethernet and connect to the internet just fine, but I can't seem to get passed the Limited Connectivity when connecting thru the wireless connection. The network key has been double and triple checked by myself and others...it is the correct security key. I've tried changing up the security key just to see what would happen and it won't allow me to connect to the network unless I put in the correct key which still limits me to Local connectivity anyway.

After adding a Cisco e4200 router to my network I'm unable to connect to Steam. I've setup Win 7 to use static IP instead of DHCP and also enabled port forwarding for proper Steam client ports/ranges in the router. Doing an online test, it appears the ports are just not open. With any router I've ever owned, it seems getting port forwarding to work properly is a major ordeal. What am I missing? I have latest firmware. Cable modem does not have built in firewall or router.
