Jul 27, 2011I am planning on installing Clean Air Wireless network, using WLC 5508, WCS(with plus license) and MSE.
Which MSE license i need to get this to work ?

Cisco Wireless :: 5508 Clean Air Feature Does Not Seems To Work
Jun 3, 2012I have a dual 5508 controller /NCS deployment. I deployed my first clean air AP today, a 3502I.
The Clean Air feature does not seem to work, however. "No information is available because CleanAir is disabled or otherwise not available for this radio. If no information is available and CleanAir is enabled then you can try rebooting the AP XXXX".The thing is that CleanAir is enabled on this AP.

Jul 30, 2012we recently purchased L3 daughter cards (N55-D160L3-V2) for our 5548UPs along with the LAN Enterprise Services licenses (N55-LAN1K9).
I installed the cards and Ent Svcs lic this past weekend and everything went well excep that I couldn't enable the EIGRP feature .. apparently EIGRP requires the LAN Base (N55-BAS1K9-BUN) license even when you have the Enterprise lic installed, so I was able to dig up that license eventually (which comes with the L3 daughter card, incidentally). Another side effect of not installing the Lan Base lic is that the L3 card/module will be in an "offline" state until the Lan Base lic is installed. Either way, everything was working normally in L2 mode at this time.
So, here I was thinking I was ready to proceed with enabling L3 - this morning I installed the LAN Base license on one of the 5548s which apparently triggered the L3 Daughter card module to go active and triggered a switch reboot. Ok, not that big of a deal, knew that was probably coming. I expected the switch to come back up normally .. NOPE. The switch went into a continual reboot cycle where the console prompt would appear, then about 30 seconds later, would reboot again.
I finally ended up re-installing the original L2 card and the switch came right up. I see that LAN Base and LAN Enterprise are both still installed as well.
What have I done wrong here? Why did the switch go into a continuous reboot cycle once I installed the LAN Base license?

Feb 2, 2013I have a DSL modem with wireless networking, and I am trying to install a second wireless router for a separate network. The standalone wireless network has five laptops networked to a sixth laptop, in a server/client setup. To complicate things, I am plugging the server laptop into a LAN connection on the DSL modem. The server shows both the LAN connection with internet access, and the second wireless network without internet access. The client laptops just show the wireless network, without internet access.
This is exactly what I need - internet access for the server but no access for the five clients. I have each wireless router on a separate channel and only auto connect to the standalone wireless network. Is there anything I need to do to the setup of either of the routers to avoid problems?? The wireless network without internet access seems to be abnormally slow in response and I am wondering if there is any interference between networks. None of the laptops are accessing the DSL wireless network, but I still need that DSL wireless capability for other computers in the building.
Wireless Network Adapter Hangs Installing The Driver
Aug 28, 2012I have a wi fi sky adapter,and when i plug it in,it says installing driver software. But..then it just hangs there,and eventually leads to-driver was not sucessfully installed(that is when i plug it out,but i waited more than an hour before that)I tried uninstaling and updating the driver for it,but it didnt worked.When i tried to uninstal the driver,again it just hanged.That is untill i unpluged the adapter..I have manually downloaded the latest driver,and when i check in properties it says that device is working properly.

Nov 27, 2012My wireless network card is not detected by the system and wont show up in device manager. the green light on the back of the card is still blinking, so it is getting power through the mobo. Wireless network card was working perfectly before swapping out my video card for a new 7850 and swapping out my RAM modules. The drivers are Up to date. I'm running windows 7 and the wireless network card is an atheros AR5005GS.
I don't understand why installing new RAM and a new video card would affect this?? I didn't touch that card, and have double checked it is still seated properly.
I have no other way currently to connect this computer to the Internet.

Aug 14, 2012I have a Linksys E2000 router. I am trying to install an Epson NX230 printer on my home network. Apparently, the Epson printer has a MAC address assigned to it. My network cannot find the printer. I looked at my riuter setup and the MAC Address Clone has two buttons, Enabled Disabled. The Disabled button is clicked on. Accdording to documentation I foudn on this website, it looks like I can Enabled the MAC Address clone button. The document also mentgioend entereding the MAC address for a PC.
If I enable the MAC Address Clone, do I enter the MAC address for the printer or during the install process does the MAC address get installed also

Mar 3, 2013Just had some more 3500i installed,but 2 of these seem to be working, but there is no green LED when no connection, and when you conneect there is no blue led. The LEDs to change when rebooting the AP, just neve seen this before, is this a fault?

Feb 25, 2013I have been asked to install a ASA5505 on a home network. The home network has a home broadband connection which the ISP provider supplies with an IP address. This is only for 6 weeks until the new line comes in. I know this is going to cause problems but we have no choice but to impletment this.
My questions are below.
1, We have a home hub supplied by the ISP which is configured by an IP address which is NOT static. Can we not use the ASA 5505 instead. I know that if our ISP change the IP address we have to change the IP address on the 5505.
2, Will we be able to use the home network broadband to create a secure connection?

May 23, 2012I bought a new router last night in an attempt to fix some internet issues. I replaced my old router (an N150 lynksis) with the one I bought (an N300 netgear) and after getting all the wires connected, my computer wouldn't connect to the internet and it wouldnt recognize the router as anything other than "Unidentified Network". I've tried reseting and power cycling the modem, shuting down the computer, even some random tips from the internet but nothing seems to be working.

Cisco :: 3500 - WCS And Clean Air
Nov 8, 2010Just upgraded our WCS server to the 7.x code over the weekend. Turned up the first 3500 series AP's today. The AP's have been up for about an hour. I am seeing the Air Quality graphs on WCS. On the Worst 802.11a/n and 802.11b/g/n Interferers windows, I am see a WCS System Error Page message but only in those windows. I have gone over the documentation and dont see that I need to enable anything else on WCS.

Aug 16, 2011For a Campus setup (University), if I deploy 1142 AP's on all the floors with a WLC controlling them, and put one 3500 AP on each floor, will that give sufficient Clean Air support with automatic Rogue elimination? What about if an AP drops, does the WLC automatically try to cover that area with neighboring AP's? I know the old WLSE would be able to do that, but not sure if the WLC can do that by itself. What part of Self Healing can the WLC do with Clean Air, or is a WCS a must have in order to automatically Defend and self heal? Also is the MSE needed for this if a WCS is used? What does the MSE do that the WLC and WCS can't?
