I have an ISR 1921. Every now and then, it crashes saying "Possible software fault". The system LED flashes amber and only a hard reset (power on/off) will reload the ISR.

Im asking above question because we will need to enable ip-sla on the mentioned router. as i read on the cisco webside, it says Cisco-ISR-1921/K9-IP Base support only IP-SLA RESPONDER feature nothing else. If Cisco-921/K9 does not support the above commands , should i go for ordering Cisco-1921-SEC/K9 ?
I got myself TimeWarner Cable, rated at around 15/1 mbps. The guy came and just connected the line from my place, ran it all around my room and plugged it into a Motorola SB5100 Modem. My AV is ESETNOD32 version 5.
My problem is as follows: Before yesterday, I had DSL (1mbps) and it never crashed on me. No matter what website I went to, the connection was stable. The DSL modem had wireless and it was 100% stable too. Here I have a (new?) cable modem that gives me a connection 15x faster but it crashes so often! When the guy set it up, he told me to get speedtests, so I ran on speedtest.net and speakeasy to get them. The sites loaded and my internet was fine. But today, whenever I try to get to those sites, my internet crashes immediately. Not only that, but I notice that when streaming HD on Youtube or elsewhere, the connection tends to crash sometime afterwards. Additionally, the connection may sometimes just crash randomly while I do just about anything.

I just registered the DIR-655. I saw it was on sale on Newegg for around $50 w/ a $15 promotional code. I decided to purchase that, and I have had it for the past 4 days. Firmware is Version 1.32NA. Hardware version A4.Unfortunately, it has been crashing once a day (I noticed it usually crashes between a window of 4:30pm and 6:30pm if that makes any difference). What happens is that it starts to slow down my entire net. That lasts for about 5-10 minutes before my entire net crashes to the point that I can't even access my router. I have to restart the router and cable modem afterwards..
Today, after the crash, I decided to connect my own primary computer straight to the cable modem. Internet started to work while connected straight to cable modem, but it was pretty slow. I did not run a speed-test so I don't know the exact speeds it was getting.Here's how my network is setup. Before I get to it, I want to say that it is a bit messy. View 1 Replies View RelatedWe are in an organization of 80 users with 5 Sx300 series switches with the latest firmware (1.2.7.76). The network is mostly flat with all switches feeding into a Cisco ASA5505 acing as the primary gateway for Internet Access. Only our two 48 port POE switches have an additional vlan configured for the VoIP phones. We have one SG300-10MP that is powering 5 Cisco Aironet 1024N's that keeps crashing. A couple weeks ago it went down twice in one day. I updated the firmware and it did not have any hiccups unitl today. This issue has been consistent since we installed the switch in April. Originally the issue seemed to be caused by too much bonjour traffic causing a buffer overflow (we have over 100 Apple products). Since I updated the switch I have not seen any bonjour buffer overflow errors. Instead I get the following error when it crashes:

The CPU and PoE supply are far from being overloaded.
I have 2 x 5510's in active/standby mode, things look fine until the active one needs to be failed over and I realize the standby one is dead. I never notice as the lights on the ASA look good, I only nice as I can't telnet or console onto it, how can I debug this issue?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Sony Viao laptop with WinXp SP3 which is now 6 years old. We are currently renting a holiday home in the USA which has an unsecured network. We have two other laptops and they are connected, no problem. This morning my Sony worked fine on email and web access but I was having trouble on FTP. Then email stopped and then web.I have tried all the usual solutions. Delete the Network, restart etc etc.It clearly show the network (and also another secured network I cannot access). When I connect it shows "Acquiring network address" then just hangs. If I press, repair it hangs on "Renewing your IP address" Does the fact that it can see the networks and when I "ping 127.0.01" it seems to be OK, mean that it CANNOT be a hardware fault? I ask this partly because the WLAN switch at the front often does not seem to work (when it does work it is green and currently it IS green)

It worked in some time but then it begun crashing again...Then they said it was the cable in the road that could not take all the data stream... And something about and Bit error?I just dont belive the cable in the road thing because our neighbour are running 10 M/bits without a single error anytime... It has been working perfectly fine with no issues whatsoever up until two days ago when suddenly our wireless network disappeared from the available networks. We have all the updated firmware. Originally we tried setting up a new network, that worked for about 20 hours before the network crashed again. Once it had crashed that time, I was just planning to wait it out until my husband got home so he could assist me with it but before he arrived him the network mysteriously reappeared. That night it once again disappeared. The following morning it was still lost, so I reset the router to the factory settings using the button on the back, and once my computer detected it router again I once again set up a new network. That worked and my connection was fine for about 12 hours this time before it once again crashed. I brought my laptop to connect it to the internet via the cable, and after when I disconnected it to leave the room the wireless was back up again.

As far as I understand it Fault Manager need to be able to do reverse lookup for ip adresses to show the correct name in the "device name" column. I have double and tripple checked and all devices that only is shown as an ip address do have a reverse in the dns used by the LMS server. The device is correctly registered and inventory have been run. If I hold the mouse pointer over the crosshair on the row of the offending device all info is shown including correct device name and fqdn.
The server is upgraded from 4.2.1 to 4.2.2 and we have the same problem before the upgrade.
I am trying to setup Fault Monitoring on LMS 4.0. When I try to create a Fault Notification Group no devices are listed. They appear to be listed in all other places so I am at a loss as to explain why they are not appearing.

I have a cisco 5508 WLC that I have setup WebAuth on and trying to install the certificate on. I have generated the csr and gotten my cert from Verisign (X.509, server platform=apache). I have followed the instruction via the cisco documentation url...I found an error in uploading and find out how to encrypt mykey: url...
I am also having exactly the same issue with a certificate from Thawte. I followed the unchained guide and have tried both with and without a password in the initial step key generation step, requesting a new cert each time. As with Jeensernchew's issue there are no errors in OpenSSL but when uploading the cert to the WLC get the following error. [code] The WLC is running version 6.0.196.0. I am using OpenSSL 1.0.0 29 Mar 2010.
When I requested the cert from Thawte I was asked to specify the device type, I chose Cisco, but as all the work and conversion is being done by OpenSSL, should I have chosen differently? When I do this I can load the cert in the 5508, but the controller fails and doesn't allow that VLAN or config access to the wireless network. I am at a loss of why I can load and it not work. I have verified my hostname and password and those are good.

i have trying for a few days to connect my HP G7000 notebook to the internet through my wireless but i have tried everything i can think without getting anywhere. View 3 Replies View RelatedI am on the internet, let's say browsing youtube, or play multiplayer games, sometimes my internet will crash and disconnect me, leaving that familiar yellow triangle with an exclamation mark. and that will stay there for about 1-5 minutes and then will reconnect me in. but sometimes it will just keep doing that repeatedly.I've tried to work it out myself, power cycling and everything but nothing seem to work.

We are running LMS 4.1 and we have more than 150 devices.LMS could not find the fault discovery for 3 switches with partnumber WS-C3560C-12PC-S. This switches are considered as unknown.Ios version is c3560c405-universalk9-mz.122-55.EX3.bin But other things are ok. Inventory Collection ,Config Archive, Topology Data Collection etc . Is there any way to fix ths issue? We have compact switch WS-C3560CG-8PC-S, which is working perfectly for all features.

For some reason the devices are not visible in Monitor->Fault Settings->Seup->Threshold Settings (please see screenshot) Is there another approach to change the threshold values?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've just installed LMS 4.2, like it a lot so far. In the Fault Monitor, the Device Name column shows the device's IP address rather than the host name. We need for it to show the host name, for ease of troubleshooting; most folks don't have the IP addresses memorized. Likewise, when an email is sent out for an event, the managed device field also shows up as the device's IP address.
The devices were all discovered with their IP addresses rather than a host name...should LMS have automatically found their host names? Regardless, I manually updated all of the device's host names, yet they still display as an IP address in the fault monitor.
Also, it appears I need to figure out some way to throttle alerts. One particular device will report an event (ie a temperature out of range) dozens of times in a polling period...several per second, even though it's the same alert.
I am working with LMS 4.1 and FDM 4.1.0.
If I ask to the Supported Device Finder Portlet about C4503-E (SysObjectId: 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.874), it tells that this device is supported by DFM 4.1.0. Nevertheless, in DFM module each one devices appear in the "All Unknown Devices" group, with Error Code: Unsupported. CDP is enable in each one of these devices.
We are using Cisco ACS server Version : 5.3.0.40.6. Our tacacs appliances are crashing on AD authentication on a fairly regular basis. I have been searching Cisco.com to see whether we are on the latest version or not however I couldn't find anything lattest than what we are currently using. Are we on the latest version?

I live in apartments that provide internet to everyone that lives there, and had been living here for a few months before this started happening.I now constantly have my internet crashing in the middle of browsing/gaming. I will either open up my laptop to the internet not working already, or it will work, but crash randomly while I am using it.
Trying to load a page on google chrome, it will show a message saying DNS Lookup Failed, and an icon will pop up in the right corner of my screen with a yellow (!) triangle. If I hover over it, it will say no internet access.I've followed the few steps they had on there, but none of them worked. I've never had a problem like this before, and haven't made any modifications to anything on my computer lately, so I am pretty confused as to why this is happening. I know it is something on my end, because my roommate's internet is just fine, and even used my ethernet cord on her computer, and no problems at all.
I just acquired a Kindle Fire for my wife. Joined my Dir-655 network just fine. I have never done a firmware update (using 1.10) and have lived by the "if it ain't broke. " axiom. Dell laptops, Mac laptops and desktops, Wii, X-box, LG Cinema TV, Roku, iPad, multiple iPhones and iPods all connect and work fine (with the occasional (once a month) reboot of the router necessary). Using cable modem (bridge mode), no historic issues. Suddenly when the Kindle Fire is utilizing the network at the same time as one or two other devices, the network crashes, and a power down reboot is necessary. A Google search reveals a fair number of complaints about this across router brands.
