Cisco WAN :: Not Able To Configure Outward MEP 2941 MWR Router
Feb 3, 2011
We got a new CISCO 2941 MWR router shipped with the “mwr2941-adviprank9-mz.122-33.MRA.bin” image .I am not able to configure the Ethernet service OAM(CFM) . We need to configure a outward domain and outward MEP.The system is not allowing me to configure a outward MEP. There seems to be no option to configure an outward MEP. I am successfully able to configure inward domain and inward MEP but this does not fit in our setup as we want CCM to be send outwards .

Any difference between these (2) mobile wireless router models?
MWR-2941-DC
MWR-2941-DC-A
I can only find mention of MWR-2941-DC-A in Cisco's product documentation.

I have two MWR 2941's in a lab environment awaiting deployment in a SAToP environment. They are both running the latest IOS, mwr2941-adviprank9-mz.151-1.MR3.bin. After being up for about 4 days they both stop responding to telnet attempts. I do not get a reject message - it just goes to a blank secreen with a flashing cursor. The only way to fix it is to reboot. I read that an older IOS had a similar bug on the MWR1941 but I cannot find anything about the 2941 having issues such as this.

I have two Cisco 2941's going over a IPSEC VPN. I need to push the same network over this connection. For example i need 192.168.255.0 / 25 on my side and i need to plug in a laptop on the far end 2941 with the same network. I have built GRE tunnels before and i found a configuration online to brdige interfaces over a GRE tunnel.
when i get to adding the bridging to the configuration which i will show below i get an error. Please see below. Also when i try to add the same briding command on the GRE tunnel which is needed it doesnt show the bridging command as being available. The Cisco 2941's are both using version: mwr 2941-iprank9-mz.124-20.MRb1.bin.As i stated the only end result i need is to be able to configure a path from point A and B and have the same network on each end.

I am using a CISCO 2941 DC-A router,For the PPP testing.I was using GL card from the GL communications. In the case of GL card it supports this below Feature"In MLPPP Simulation, NCP can be configured to send Packets over PPP links in the bundle or on the MLPPP bundle."My query Is in the Cisco Router 2941-DC-A,Is their support for sending NCP over PPP in the case of Multilink(MLPPP).Because I found out that in the case of MLPPP the Cisco router sends NCP packets over MLPPP only. How to configure the cisco router to send NCP packets over PPP in case of MLPPP.?

One of my customer has raised a new requirement for implementation of short sequence number format support in PPP multilink header for Cisco MWR 2941 E1/T1 serial interface, whereas router is supporting long sequence number format.here is the output of "debug ppp negotiation" command:-Currently in the MWR debugging logs we can see that by default MWR is sending long sequence header format as below
*Mar 13 01:32:55.438: Se0/2:0 LCP: O CONFREQ [REQsent] id 238 len 25
*Mar 13 01:32:55.438: Se0/2:0 LCP: MagicNumber 0x26CDF693 (0x050626CDF693)
*Mar 13 01:32:55.438: Se0/2:0 LCP: MRRU 1500 (0x110405DC)
*Mar 13 01:32:55.438: Se0/2:0 LCP: EndpointDisc 2 16.16.16.11 (0x1307021010100B)
*Mar 13 01:32:55.438: Se0/2:0 LCP: MultilinkHdrFmt seq long classes 2 (0x1B040202)
While as per the requirement PPP multilink header should support short sequence.
MWR configuration:
controller E1 0/2
framing NO-CRC4
clock source line
channel-group 0 timeslots 1-31
[code]....

My current set up is 1 HQ router (2911 ISR) and 8 site offices with a non-Cisco router. Each site has an IPSEC tunnel back to the HQ router. All of the site routers have a dynamic external IP address. This set up has worked ok for now, but I would like to look at moving to GRE tunnels so traffic from the sites can be routed to each over.I have read up on the configuration and I can set up an IPSEC GRE Tunnel in test labs using a static IP address on the spokes however I have not been able to find any documentation on how to configure the HQ router to allow the tunnels from any IP address.I did try setting the tunnel destination to 0.0.0.0 on the HQ side but this does not work.

I configured one Cisco 1760 router as VPN server using easy VPN Server. The clients can connect to the VPN server successfully. The problem is that there is no ping between the clients. They cannot see each other into the VPN network. The router has just one port.Do I need special configuration of the VPN sever in order to allow the VPN clients to connect each other or I need other type of VPN?

Configuring Cisco 1841 router and firewall. My provider has put their equipment and given me 2 subnets with public ip address. I am used to getting just one Subnet and connecting my firewall straight to the hand off. But in this case I am a bit confused. I assume I will need to put a router and configure it with before I connect my firewall. [code] I also have a firewall that I would like to be on the subnet 2 at 200.xxx.97.130 and have my private network 192.168.xxx.xxx behind it.

Suppose a broadcasted IP packet reaches one of the integrated RJ-45 ports on a 2911 ISR G2, will it be possible to configure the router so that the other integrated RJ-45 ports, ESM/EHWIC modules installed on the router, as well as the MGF also recieve the packet? Technically, the router should act similar to a switch with the SRE behaving similar to a seperate machine connected via the MGF and other external machine connected to the ports of the router to recieve the broadcasted packet.
Also, if SNMP traps were generated from the router,Will it be possible to send the traps from the router via the MGF to the SRE installed on the router?

Is there a CLI, other than the terminal mode menu, for this switch? I would much prefer to use a CLI to configure it than the (web) menus available.
The web menus are confusing and the manual is long. I already know how to configure Cisco Switches via the CLI quite well.

Our boss decides to purchase 1941w Router & he asked me to do the necessary configuration. my knowledge in CISCO router is a CCNA level & i've never configured an embedded AP or ADSL line on a router before.
the topology is as the following: as for the wired Network, we have one LAN (192.168.1.0/24) connected to GE0/0 (192.168.1.254/24) on router & has the ability to access the internet which is ADSL configured as ATM0/0/0
As for the wireless network ( now here is the problem) what i want is the following:
I want the wireless network to share the same network with the wired which means 192.168.1.0/24 i want to use WPA encryption how to configure the AP?!
this is a true challenge for me. After a lot of searching, most of the sample configuration over there is about creating two VLANS!!! & two DHCP Pool.

I am attempting to configure a Cisco 2901 router using IOS 15 to properly perform NAT/PAT translation between LAN and the internet connection. I've configured DHCP pool for the local interface (GigabitEthernet0/1), which works properly. The WAN interface (GigabitEthernet0/0) is configured to obtain its own IP by DHCP from the ISP. I can work on the LAN computers and I can access the internet directly from the router (using, for example, telnet and router's ping commands). The problem is, NAT does not work properly and connection from the LAN interface does not reach the WAN interface.
