we have cisco sr520 adsl router at one of the sites. A device is connected to the LAN and needs to be communicated directly to the server with 3rd party over internet. we have a static public IP( a.b.c.d) for cisco router and want this IP redirected to the LAN IP address(192.168.1.20) of the device but locked to only 2 inbound IP address (eg.-1.2.3.4 , 5.6.7.8) .

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'am a bit newbie at using Cisco products and here is my problem : I have set up a VPN tunnel between 2 Sites (A and B) a few month ago using 2 cisco SR520-ADSL-K9. All was working fine until power failures occured on the sites B (secondary site).
What happened was that none of the ethernet ports were working, excepting during booting, I was then able to ping computers linked to ports Fastethernet0, FastEthernet1, FastEthernet2 and FastEthernet3 but after a few seconds all ports were disabled but my DSL seemed to be working.
So I took back the router home to check it. I managed (I think) to make a factory reset using a serial terminal and following the procedure described here [URL]
Since I did the reset, I thought I would be able to re-use Cisco Configuration Assistant (3.1) to re-configure the router (I am very bad at using the command lines) but I am unable to connect to the router using the supposed default IP : 92.168.75.1 (I set my computer to use 192.168.75.50 IP adress with mask 255.255.255.0). But I can't connect to the router ... even if the Ethernet ports seem to work because green light is on when plugging my cable. connect to my router using CCA ?
For more information, here is what I get when I run "show startup-config" and "show running-config" in terminal console. I guess the objective is to make the startup-config beeing the running-config, but I have no idea on how to do that ..

I got myself lately Cisco SR520 router with some basic firewall functions built in. This is going to be used for my home broadband, so no need to be really super secure, as it would be for some business. I managed to configure it, however there are few things on the firewall side, which I don't understand.
This router had some default configuration in it's flash, when I bought it. There are class maps.... how it works or how to add/edit rules. Also, do I need to use class maps, or can they be replaced by ACL's to certain extend? How to add/edit class maps rules to allow certain port (eg. 3333). Pease see below part of the default config:

I have a SR520W-ADSL-K9, I´m trying to setup it trough CCA, but I have some troubles. At the internet connection I mark PPoE option, enter the vci=0, vpi=35, the username, the password (like the ISP TELMEX suggest), and mark the IP Negotiated option, but I have not find the ISP service give me an IP Address and establish the connection.

I've been trying to configure the SR520 in just the most basic fashion using CCA (3.1) and the CLI but with no success. I can't get a PPP connection with our ISP.
I've tried following the instructions in the software config pdf and also tried replicating the various 'running configs' reported in other posts in this forum to allow connection to a UK ISP, with no success. I don't know how many times I've reset the poor thing to factory defaults.
I have to say that I'm dismayed at how flaky the CCA appears to be. Many of the things I've tried with it simply don't work and often end up in it hanging. Close to useless in my view.
So instead I've tried to use the CLI which seems a lot more solid but is somewhat impenetrable and there's precious little by way of supporting explanation.
I have CentOS and the application I am running does not listen on 192.168.1.5 (Private IP address). Right now I have connected using bridge mode and I can see in my network configuration-> ppp and eth0. PPP has public IP and eth0 has private IP. Is there any way that I can get public ip assigned to eth0? I do not have Static IP, I want to use the public dynamic IP assigned by my ISP to use in eth0 interface.

Will not connect to the internet wired or wirelessly. It does turn on however. Not ISP or modem, because when comp is plugged in directly to the cable modem, internet connection works fine. I'm using a Comcast cable connection.

(77.36.x.x) instead of the usual private address 192.168.1.1. We have FIOS at our home. All the wall connections for ethernet are wired to the control panel in our house which are then connected to a wired router. We have another wireless router in the upstairs which gets internet through the wall port and it works fine.We had another downstairs wireless router in the living room that was working fine as well, but I reset it for certain reasons and it no longer works properly. All the proper lights light up: internet, port, power but the computer can only connect to the network and not the internet for some reason.

I am not sure if its a limitaion of the iPad 2 or a wireless connection speed issue, but when watching You Tube music videos the video stops frequently and I have to hit the play button again to resume. This occurs more often if I am using Blue Tooth connected headphones than direct connected headphones, leading me to the initial conclusion that I am witnessing the limits of the iPad 2 processor. However, I recently downloaded the Speed Test app and have discovered that the wireless download speed varies from about 11-15Mbps, depending on the location (normal vs next to router). If I go to that web site and run the speed test there from my direct connected PC (connected to 1Gbps port), I get a download speed typically of 36Mbps (inflated I know because Comcast speed supposedly is limited to 25 Mbps).

After some days trying to understand why, I saw that it was needed to enable some options at 192.168.0.1. So, I went there and enabled IPsec PassThrough and PPTP PassThrough under the router options and also added my MAC Addr. Then I restarted the router, However when I try to connect into it again (via DHCP, auto IP), it says "null/limited connection" ( I cant even try a vpn connection, Since it is null/limited, I have to choose static ip mode, inserting a IP/gateway/my service DNS under network options, then I can connect to internet again (see image), but router is still blocking the VPN access, hanging at "verifying account. And password." later gives error 619 related to router blocking
View 4 Replies View RelatedWe are trying to figure out how to configure this properly and so far we are stuck. We have a VMWare server with two different vmnics each on a different VLAN. We have each of these vmnics connected into their own switch port on a 3560G along with the appropriate VLAN membership for said ports. We have an additional port on this same switch in trunking mode connected to our firewall to a NIC that has an IP address in the respective VLAN networks. This port is also set for dot1q encapsulation. Each VLAN also has an IP set on the switch that is in the appropriate VLAN. We are having issues in this configuration getting the one VLAN to talk to another.
I know if we were in all Cisco mode then we would use ROAS to do this inter-vlan communication. How to make this happen short of changing hardware?

I have just done a test with 30gb worth of files and the transfer speed was 8.7MB/second, is that good for wireless?

I have a Dell Powerconnect 5424 switch that I'd like to use in place of the unmanaged switches I am currently using.I have the switch configured with it's IP, subnet, gateway, etc. I can plug devices into it and communicate with no problems. However, when I attempt to plug in the router, nothign will communicate to or from the switch. The devices I plugged in will not talk to each outer, ping the switch, or the router. Also cannot ping to the switch from a device plugged into the router. If I unplug the router, comm opens back up.

I tried updating the firmware to the latest (1.0.04) but am still experiencing the same thing.I don't lose internet access, I lose connection to the router itself. If I power cycle the router, the connection is re-established and I'm able to access the router and in turn the internet. I'm seeing this on both wired and wireless connections. Last night the Cisco logo actually turned off when I lost connection (this was a first). When I power cycled, connection was restored and the logo lit up again.

As you know a new Apple TV was released and along with it you now have the capability to send music and photos from iTunes on your laptop to your Apple TV which you can then play on your TV. These two components communicate through your wireless router. However this is not happening because (I believe) that the E3000 is blocking something (a port, some rouge firewall setting, etc.). I would be happy opening every frigging port this thing has and blocking all it's internal firewalls just to see if I can get these two devices working correctly. The software that allows this to all occur is called Airplay via your homeshare g network. Any success in getting your Apple TV and your iTunes and perhaps your iPhone to call communicate together or how the E3000 works.

I have a SR520 where WAN configured as PPPoE with Dyndns address. I have done all the configuration through the CCA, so far everything is working fine. But now i want to configure SSL VPN, but I have getting an error message : SSL VPN cannot be configured, please configure wan interface using a static IP address. I am having an issue get an EZVPN working between a 2811 server and a SR520 client. The symptoms are the SR520 makes multiple connection attempts to the 2811. It appears that sometimes these connections are successful and the SR520 is assigned an IP address but then the tunnel will be dropped and a new session will be started. I've attached scrubed configs for both the 2811 and the SR520. One other note, when connecting to the 2811 with a software VPN client, there are no problems, so I think the problem is with the SR520. On the other hand, the SR520 wasn't having any problems until we switched our VPN server from a UC520 to the 2811.
