I have faced some problem with Cisco 1520 Series APs. Since few days, We got the log in wlc 5508 like this
"AP 'MAPNSY#WMI3', MAC: ac:a0:16:5c:45:00 disassociated previously due to AP Reset. Uptime: 0 days, 00 h 22 m 52 s . Last reset reason: operator changed 11g mode."
& then AP is rebooted. Here, I attached the screenshot of WLC 5508 Log.
we have two WLC model 5508 with software version 7.0.116.0 (25 ap supported for each), i tried to add a new access point air-lap1131ag-e-k9 but after five minuts (maximum) the ap reboot, i replaced :
- power injector - AC/DC adapter - patch ethernet - switch port - switch - ip of the access point - reset a default of all access point i tried - reboot of both wlc
I took the ap and connected directly to the switch (with or without power injector), but the access point reset with this reason.
I've run into an odd problem - I have connected two 2960s together with copper on FastEthernet interfaces, and STP on the new switch immediately puts that port into blocking mode. I don't understand why this would be, since there is only one connection between the two, in fact, there is only one connection at all on the switch that is blocking.
get a installed certificate work on a 5508 WLC Controller without rebooting. Is there a way? Is it possible to just reload a process to get the certificate work?
I'm running 3 WLC 5508, 2 of them running image AIR-CT5500-K9-7-0-116-0.aes, one AIR-CT5500-LDPE-K9-7-0-116-0.aes.
On the 5508 running the LDPE-image, I have 9 WLANs (170,171,180,181,190,191,281,282,283), all defined with admin status "ENABLED". WLANs 180,181,281 belong to a defined AP-group, WLAN 190,191,282 belong to a different AP-group.
WLANs 180,181,190,191 are defined as H-REAP. The H-REAP APs registers without any problems at the backup WLC and switches back successfully to the primary controller after recovering from reboot. Unfortunately the WLANs 180,181,190,191 show status "DISABLED" every time the primary controller comes back and I have to enable them manually.
Doing exactly the same procedure with one of the other WLC, running AIR-CT5500-K9-7-0-116-0, I never face this problem.
After reboot WLC , the switch port was err-disable , the cause is link flap after we reboot 3 times , the switch port link flap err-disable every time? We don't know why the WLC rebboot will cause it , it just normal action on device the WLC version is 7.4.100.0 link switch with access port , no port channel , no portfast.
we have the issue that a new WLC 5508 has been installed in a new location. Unfortunaltelly we have no hands-on suopport on-site, so just remote connection. Now we figured that the service-port and management interfaces have to be reconfigured. In case we can not reach the WLC with the new configured interfaces it would be useful if the WLC reboots automatically after time x to reload the previouse working configuration. So the question is, is there a functionality to create a script which reboots the WLC automatically after time x?
Need your expert input in sorting out the below problem.I have a cisco 6513 switch which is going into SP mode after a reboot whci i have done during BCP activity in my organization.Below are the log for your reference.
I have been having an issue with random AP3602I's in HREAP mode disassociating from the 5508 controller. These AP's are in remote offices with 70Mb WAN back to the controller. Randomly one or two AP's disassociate from the controller and I have to bounce the switchport to bring them back online. The WLC is running 7.2. Again this only occurs to one or two AP's not all of the AP's.
I'm trying to figure out if it is possible to configure in one site a wireless setup that goes like this:
One WLC (5508), multiple LAP's in H-REAP mode.
AP's will be splitted in multiple VLAN's belonging to different departments but with the same SSID.Each VLAN will have it's own DHCP scope. All AP's are located in the same site and I need to know if it is possible to roam between AP's that belong to different departments?
I am using WLC 5508 version 7.0 facing issue while enabling global multicast mode .
client machine stops DNS resolution after some time once we enable global multicast mode on WLC .websites are opening with IPs but not with DNS names .
DNS resolution starts working immediately after disabling multicast mode on wlc .
I want (priviledge 15) cannot show run and show startup config. However, I want to let operator to ( e.g. show run interface fastethernet 0/1 port ). Attach is screen captured, After tested, the operator can success from issue show run and show startup config.
However, operator also can't issue show run interface fastethernet 0/1. In my design, I want it can success. Can ACS 4.2 "Shared profile components "Authorization set" can do this ?
I have to make a live chat (web based using ASP.NET) , like a customer service chat when the client click to start chat , the server will repsond with checking any operators that is available to chat with the client.the operator must be login to the site as active operator .how can i make the server to check the available operator ? is there a syntax or codes that can be applied in this condition?
my customer has FreeRadius, and I'm trying to get the server to assign a network admin role to a 5K running 5.0.3 code. This is based on the example given in this document: url...The server authenticates the user name, but will only put the user into the network operator role. This is confirmed by checking the output of show user-account and debug security user-db.The Radius test using the same credentials passes the authentication test. I'm sure the problem is that the N5K dosent understand the VSA format of the attribute, and that this is a simple syntax problem.
I had configured one access point CAP3602E in flex connect mode through a WLC 5508 after deploying the access point in flex control mode the local mac-filering is not working. before it was working when ap was in local mode. any body have to know is the mac-filtering working in flex-control mode ?
(5508 WLC, 1142N APs).I understand if I enable the AP mode to Rogue Detector from the details page of the AP, the AP stops accepting requests and is now looking for rogue items on the wired network. Is this the same when I enable Rogue Location Discovery Protocol? Will I lose the wireless functionality of all of my APs on the controller?
Next question, when I look at the Rogue Summary on the Monitoring page I see three Adhoc Rogue devices. When I select the Detail link only one shows. I remember the other two were HP mutifuction devices with WIFI enabled but I cannot retrieve that information anymore.

Why is the 2700 faster if the 3500 is more expensive ? 2. will cisco put out a firmware that allows me to block more then 100 urls and keywords cuz as it is now i find that limiting it to only 8 urls makes the new linksys routers useless and NO i wont use opendns they are slow and charge you to remove the ads thats why i use the keyword blockin to block popups and ads 3.will a firmware upgrade make the 3500 faster then the 2700 later on ?

I have a wired connection to 12 MBs and is very stable. My problem is that the download speed becomes 12MBs to 2MBs without apparent reason. It is fixes if you restart the router. Here will show you the optimal speed of connection.
We have recently converted 1 Cisco Lightweight AP 1041 to Autonomous mode for site-survey purposes. We now want to convert it back to lightweight mode.

i got a Dir-655 router and Dell 1501 wireless -N mini PCI card (802.11 bgn compliant). Router was set to mix mode but my desktop Dell XP8300 can connect only till G mode.
1) I search on web and some said that i need to set my router to N mode only for my desktop to connect to N mode. IS THIS SOLUTION CORRECT??
2) Another issue was my sis got other old brand latop which can only connect to B mode, if i set to N mode only, she won't be able to connect it right?
Why does my internet keep disconneting and i run a troubleshoot and it cant find the reason, i rest and unpluged my router and my wifi and my dsl box and it has been doing this for 3 days now, and my network want to charge a service fee to come out and im broke, and nobody has moved any wires or anything and im the only one using this net.
I have v4 mpls working fine but v6 refuses to work correctly.Looking at the ipv6 routing table for the VRF we can see prefix's coming from the remote PE's BGP is up in vpnv6 and ipv6 unicast.Everything seems fine but I just cant seem to ping between the sites.as mentioned, ipv4 works fine for the same vrf.
I've mounted a IPSec G2G tunnel with Cisco ASA one end & Cisco router 1802 another end. The 1802 is connected to a BT 2wire Gateway Router to join the BT network. But from time to time, the tunnel goes down for several hours (or several minutes) then goes up again without reason.I've checked the IPSec configuration, it seems correct. Anyone has experience on the BT 2wire Gateway Router ?
