I have faced some problem with Cisco 1520 Series APs. Since few days, We got the log in wlc 5508 like this
"AP 'MAPNSY#WMI3', MAC: ac:a0:16:5c:45:00 disassociated previously due to AP Reset. Uptime: 0 days, 00 h 22 m 52 s . Last reset reason: operator changed 11g mode."
& then AP is rebooted. Here, I attached the screenshot of WLC 5508 Log.
We have some AP keep on disassociating. All together we have 21 APs in the building but only this 7 APs keep on disassociating in every hours.
Below is the log i grab from our 5508 controller.

I have Nexus 7K installations in 2 locations. Both of them have multiple VDCs. In default VDC there are continous tacacs error message though tacacs is not configured. The requests are from various public IPs where thsi VDC is not exposed to Internet at all. What would be t he cause of it?

Laptop connects to wifi network. But it shows "No Internet Access" message.My Macbook connects to the internet just fine and the wifi on my iphone works as well.The ethernet on the laptop works and I am able to access the internet this way. The laptop does connect to some of the other access points but I've had issues with my router.I tried the usual debugging mechanisms - disable/enable adapter, reset the router, reset the tcp/ip stack. After it came back up again, the redundancy status still shows as RPR in operation mode.
is there a support of 1+1 mode (HA mode) at 5508 Controller? If yes Is there a HA bundle or do we have to order two identical 5508 controller ?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been having an issue with random AP3602I's in HREAP mode disassociating from the 5508 controller. These AP's are in remote offices with 70Mb WAN back to the controller. Randomly one or two AP's disassociate from the controller and I have to bounce the switchport to bring them back online. The WLC is running 7.2. Again this only occurs to one or two AP's not all of the AP's.

AP's will be splitted in multiple VLAN's belonging to different departments but with the same SSID.Each VLAN will have it's own DHCP scope. All AP's are located in the same site and I need to know if it is possible to roam between AP's that belong to different departments?

client machine stops DNS resolution after some time once we enable global multicast mode on WLC .websites are opening with IPs but not with DNS names .
DNS resolution starts working immediately after disabling multicast mode on wlc .

View 2 Replies View Relatedmy customer has FreeRadius, and I'm trying to get the server to assign a network admin role to a 5K running 5.0.3 code.This is based on the example given in this document: url...The server authenticates the user name, but will only put the user into the network operator role. This is confirmed by checking the output of show user-account and debug security user-db.The Radius test using the same credentials passes the authentication test. I'm sure the problem is that the N5K dosent understand the VSA format of the attribute, and that this is a simple syntax problem.

View 2 Replies View Related(5508 WLC, 1142N APs).I understand if I enable the AP mode to Rogue Detector from the details page of the AP, the AP stops accepting requests and is now looking for rogue items on the wired network. Is this the same when I enable Rogue Location Discovery Protocol? Will I lose the wireless functionality of all of my APs on the controller?
Next question, when I look at the Rogue Summary on the Monitoring page I see three Adhoc Rogue devices. When I select the Detail link only one shows. I remember the other two were HP mutifuction devices with WIFI enabled but I cannot retrieve that information anymore.

1. 'Error' Interface BVI1 Changed to up
2. 'Error' Interface Fast Ethernet0 Changed to up
3. 'Error' Interface Dot11Radio0 Changed to up

Why these interfaces coming 'up' would be an 'error'? Seems almost like hardware failure/s. So we have been investigating on several 1130AGs bought from different places, with different configs and still get the errors. The APs appear to 'work' (i.e. basic config, wireless working, clients assoss., data flows to internet and back through APs) but the error causes the event log to show 'error' and for the status LED to turn 'yellow', instead of 'light green' (light green when working normally and no clients assos).
I have worked with many cisco APs and never ran across these two errors.
At first I thought it was a power issue, as the AP will boot up in low power if it doesnt think it's getting enough power, which could cause the IOS error possibly. But all of our APs are powered by wall plug cisco 48v OEM plugs, no POE injectors or switches. We even changed the settings in power of the IOS to 'pre-compatiable' POE and similar and still recieve the error and yellow LED status light. We looked into this power issue because we wanted to rule out if these was what was producing the errors that were reporting.
The second thing we did was setup the test APs with a very basic config, one ssid, no security, as to rule out a config error and also, no config will make the radios disabled, so without a basic config the APs cant be tested anyway (since the radios are now disabled from default). so we tested very basic configs and still getting the error and yellow LED (which all manuals say it should be light green normally working and no clients). all config changes brought wireless up and we can connect clients and data flows but still the errors stay and yellow LED once all clients disconnect. Note; when clients connect the yellow LED turns to light green, but thats not the colors the manual states they should be which is odd).
Third, a couple engineers suggested this error was from the AP scanning channels to choose the least congested (default config) and it will pick a channel but produce this error still and go yellow. We changed the configs to the least congested channels and it reboots and still gets these errors.
We have tried several IOS software packages, some newer, some older, all auto. though, no LAP.
We googled the errors but could only find ONE post with these errors. Some engineers said these errors are 'normal' and they have seen them before, but theres nothing on the web about the errors and we have owned 20-40 different cisco IOS APs and never seen this, and we have the same issues with 4 1130AGs, all in almost new condition, bought from different places.
Unless you have opened a 1130 many people dont know the status LED is actually 3 LEDs (one assembly with 3 micro LEDs, blue, green and red) that combine in color (the micro LEDs light up in different intensities causing many final color combintations), and the LEDs colors mix together via a plastic light guide on the top to show the status LED, and we believe the error is causing the status LED color to be off because the error is making the yellow light up and mix with the other colors causing all the other colors to be incorrect. we have researched trying to clear the error by 'clear logging' CLI command, hoping that may clear out the interface error and turn the yellow LED off because there would be no log of the error, but we have not succeded.
I have a WUSB11 Wireless B and wonder if it accepts WPA2 security, I originally had my router set to WPA, and the wireless B worked fine, I have since changed to WPA2 and notice the Wireless B device won't connect.

I noticed that the speed my computers report that they are connected to the wireless network connection is now 144.5 mps, versus 270 mps with the WRT300N. There is no change in location of the devices or computers. The computers use a WUSB300N adapter.Is there a setting or setup that needs to be changed?

I went on speedtest.net and compared the download speeds between my old ISP and the new one and it turns out it was the same; 7mbps. Either the technicians who came over to setup the new internet messed up or the WRT120N is having problems.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have manually configured the E2000 and set the admin password. When I was trying to log back in, I could not. I reset and reconfigured and set the password again. I still could not log in using "admin" and the password I set up. I thought I was losing my mind. Just on a hunch, I used the SSID name instead of "admin", then entered the password that worked. I am able to login, but I need the username to be admin, not the SSID. Has anyine else had this issue? Any way to change the administrator name back to admin??
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded the firmware on my wrt 160N v3 and changed the wireless security to WPA2 Personal from WEP (I needed to do this to get higher speeds from a recently purchased wireless adapter). Now the router stops transmitting a signal intermittently for about a minute before coming back on line. The time between droppages is also not the same. Before the firmware upgrade (and the change in security settings) the router was rock solid. Where I can get the older version of the firmware (which seems to be more stable than the current version)?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a wrt160n router set up at a friends house that i would connect my windows xp laptor to when i would go there. it always worked fine. i recently got a new laptop with vista 64 bit OS. i went to my friends today and connected via wireless for the first time. i expected to get prompted for the security key. instead it asked for the pin #. the pin number was something new i noticed when i replaced an older linksys with the new wrt160n so i had it in my notes. i entered the pin number and connected to the wireless router. but then my friend laptop could not connect and said it couldnt find the network. when i viewed the available networks, i noticed that the original network SSID had been changed to my vista laptop's computer name. i had to physically connect my laptop to the router and reconfigure the settings of the wireless network. then my friend was able to see the available network and automatically connect..
