Cisco Wireless :: AIR-CAP3502I-N-K9 - Change Regulatory Domain On Lightweight Access Point?

Mar 22, 2012

I'm wondering if there is an easy way to change the regulatory domain on a lightweight access point.  The reason I'm asking is someone accidentally placed an order for AIR-CAP3502I-N-K9 access points instead of the AIR-CAP3502I-A-K9 flavored ones.  I can see how it happened, since undoubtedly someone asked for the "N" access points, thinking 802.11n, and the other person was thinking AIR-CAP3502I-"N"-K9.

do I have to RMA them, or is there a way to magically turn them into the ones flavored for the Americas?

Cisco Wireless :: Regulatory Compatibility With AIR-WLC2106-K9 Controller And AIR-LAT1142N-N-K9 Access Point

Apr 26, 2013

I am in the process of building a small educational lab. I just want to make sure that I am not going to have any AP registration/join issues due to regulatory compatibility with a AIR-WLC2106-K9 controller and a AIR-LAT1142N-N-K9 access point. Will this work and if so, will I then be in the clear as far as having devices like my computer and phone attach to the SSID?

Cisco Wireless :: LAP1142N-N-K9 Regulatory Domain - 802.11a Not Supported

Feb 7, 2013

I have two AP models in my network. LAP1142N-A-K9 and LAP1142N-N-K9. The LAP1142N-A works fine with both radios (a/n and b/g/n), but the LAP1142N-N is getting a regulatory domain not supported problem with the 802.11a/n radio, which is keeping it in the down state. I'm in Canada, and my country code on my 5508 WLCs are set to CA. My WLCs are running firmware version 6.0.  I read over some specs and the difference between the two APs is FCC cfg vs Non-FCC cfg... Not 100% sure what that means.

HP 5500G-EL Switch - Replacing Domain Controller With Something More Lightweight

Apr 24, 2013

We have a remote site with ~5 users, 4 IP phones and a network printer. Right now we have an old Win2003 box serving as the DC for that site. It is connected back to us via 10MB layer 3 routing on a HP 5500G-EL switch. This windows server is getting quite old and I'd like to avoid the expense of buying a new server just to hand out addresses and authenticate users. How do you all handle login authentication, dns, and DHCP for your lightweight remotes sites?

Linksys Access Point :: WAP54-G V1 Accepts Domain Name In Ssid

Jan 24, 2011

I set up an older WAP54-G v1.1, it would not work effectively on the network, so I checked and its firmware had never been updated ( still using v 1.09) I updated it to the newest firmware today. It worked better and finally would accept changes in the SSID  field. I changed and it immediatly accepted and started to broadcast appropriately, as I was planning to put a few more of these up around the school  I changed its IP to 192,168,1,246 it immediatly crashed and would not allow me to see it on the browser. After sometime I simply reset it and reconfigured it again. Now it has changed in the SSID field but when a wireless device reads it the ntwork is note detected, however an open linksys system is. you can join it and go to the internet, but not the network.

Sometimes it lets me see controls and other times not, when it does not work, powering cycling it seems to make it is able to be seen.

Cisco Wireless :: CAP3502I Not Responding For Traceroute_tracert

Oct 18, 2012

I have 1 cisco AP (CAP3502I) which is not able to associate with WLC (version 7.0.235.0), using CAPWAP. Simply from debug I can see that AP is trying to contact WLC on port udp/5246 but can't see any response from WLC.

*Oct 19 07:06:50.055: UDP: sent src=x.x.x.x(4271), dst=wlc.wlc.wlc.wcl(5246), length=47

AP is getting config about WLC from DHCP option 43 and have own reservation to get same IP address (+default GW). AP is NOT associated but as it has IP address from DHCP then it is pingable. But don't know why, but I'm not able to tracert/traceroute to this AP, as I can see it is getting packets but it is not responding.

But on different locations, where are same APs model (associated with WLC) I have no problem with traceroute it, as APs are responding.

My question: It is not related that AP is not able to associate with WLC (still working on it) BUT should I be able to traceroute/tracert to unassociated AP (to his IP) and get response???

NOTE:
==> WLC is in DC and AP on one location, so diagram could be: WLC ---- L3 device ---- Provider MPLS router..........Provider MPLS router ---- L3 device -- L2 switch --- AP (CAPWAP)

@It means that there is NO FW on tha way :-)

I check many other APs with same model and non of them has problem to respond for traceroute, but this particular unassociated one has :-
