Cisco Wireless :: Wall Mounting A AIR-CAP3502I-E-K9
Nov 23, 2011I was under the impression that the AIR-CAP3502I-E-K9 is a ceiling mount AP only. Is any one using these as wall monuted AP's?

View 9 Replies View RelatedThis summer the IT department at my location rolled out a little more than 100 AIR-CAP3502I-A-K9's to much success. We have had an issue with only one AP. This paticular AP must have gotten unplugged during the updating process after the initial conneciton to the controller was made as the LED currently blinks red-blue-red, indicating an error in the flash memory according to the manual.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 1 cisco AP (CAP3502I) which is not able to associate with WLC (version 7.0.235.0), using CAPWAP. Simply from debug I can see that AP is trying to contact WLC on port udp/5246 but can't see any response from WLC.
*Oct 19 07:06:50.055: UDP: sent src=x.x.x.x(4271), dst=wlc.wlc.wlc.wcl(5246), length=47
AP is getting config about WLC from DHCP option 43 and have own reservation to get same IP address (+default GW). AP is NOT associated but as it has IP address from DHCP then it is pingable. But don't know why, but I'm not able to tracert/traceroute to this AP, as I can see it is getting packets but it is not responding.
But on different locations, where are same APs model (associated with WLC) I have no problem with traceroute it, as APs are responding.
My question: It is not related that AP is not able to associate with WLC (still working on it) BUT should I be able to traceroute/tracert to unassociated AP (to his IP) and get response???
NOTE:
==> WLC is in DC and AP on one location, so diagram could be: WLC ---- L3 device ---- Provider MPLS router..........Provider MPLS router ---- L3 device -- L2 switch --- AP (CAPWAP)
@It means that there is NO FW on tha way :-)
I check many other APs with same model and non of them has problem to respond for traceroute, but this particular unassociated one has :-
I need know how many clients can associate for this AP model
AIR-CAP3502I-A-K9
AIR-LAP1131G-A-K9
I have 45 clients currently associated with each AP.
Can i run both 2.4 and 5ghz at the same time? so my N user's can connect at 300Mpbs on the 5ghz bonded, and my G users can connect to 54Mbps?Also i ask because of coverage, my 5ghz does not cover as far as the 2.4 so those at the extremity's could at least get G with a good signal?

View 4 Replies View RelatedWe have a campus with both office and industial areas with various propagation problems. Historically I have been installing and maintaining access points in the 1200 range, the latest being the 1242. All these have a similar antenna setup based on diversity pairs.Since Cisco seems to be dropping the old series any week now I have been looking at the 2602 as a replacement.I can find no good documentation on antenna selection and mounting suggestions for these. If I want a proper omni coverage pattern with dual band antennas, do I just set them to a H form assuming the unit is sitting on a wall?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering if there is an easy way to change the regulatory domain on a lightweight access point. The reason I'm asking is someone accidentally placed an order for AIR-CAP3502I-N-K9 access points instead of the AIR-CAP3502I-A-K9 flavored ones. I can see how it happened, since undoubtedly someone asked for the "N" access points, thinking 802.11n, and the other person was thinking AIR-CAP3502I-"N"-K9.
do I have to RMA them, or is there a way to magically turn them into the ones flavored for the Americas?
mounting 3500i access points (AP) to the ceiling ...The ceiling is an Armstrong suspended ceiling with 24" mineral fiber drop ceiling..What are recommendations and best practice - mount AP under or above the ceiling? Initially, I considered the mounting options from Oberon Inc. (p/n :1064-00), but given the difficulty by purchasing this product in my country have to consider other options..I must say that the decision to mount the access point to the ceiling like this:
Now I looking a version of the mount АP with flush-mount kit for tiled ceilings (AIR-AP-BRACKET-3=)..
it seams, that the mounting blade for the 1142 access point and the 2602 access point are identical.
We have ordered the new 2602 with internal antennas for deploying WLAN in a new building, but I never hold this accesspoint in my hands. We have a few mounting blades in spare from the 1142 accesspoint. The question is, can I prepare the mounting of the 2602 access point with the 1142 mounting blade?
I've got a number of 3502i's that I need to mount in a new classroom that does not have any ceiling (except the floor decking above). Ceiling is roughly 30-50' up. Contractors are going to run several 2" (or whatever we want) metal pipes from the ceiling down to a more reasonable level to mount the access points on and get below the hvac ducts/etc in the ceiling.
Problem is I can't find any bracket or mounting options for this! What are others using in this situation for mounting one of these access points onto a metal pipe such as this? I've checked Oberon Wireless, Terrawave and I don't see anything glancing through the product catalogs. Anyone mounting access points this way?
Not sure why Cisco is shipping like this? It is a pain to mount them. Earlier we had option to slide out the Secuirty hasp.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have realized that E4200 V1 I have, with 1.03 firmware, seems to be dying when I reboot it and it tries to load the USB HD I have connected to it. By die I mean the web server does not work anymore (http://192.168.1.1), and new computers can't connect to the router. I suspect it is due to the amount of files I have in the External Disk Drive -I used to have Media Server enabled, but I disabled it because this problem was happening, and I only left File Server enabled. Now since I moved many of my pictures to it, it seems even File Server is causing problems, and if neither one work for me, then this router does not justify its money, since that was the only reason I bought this E4200 hardware. These problems are solved in V2? Since it is still under warranty, I could try to exchange my V1 for a V2 version.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bought an e4200 with firmware version 2.0.36 from Costco.I have set it up manually and have access to the internet for all of my wired and wireless devices.Unfortunately, I cannot access the USB storage via mounting a share, the media server or the FTP server. I have plugged in a USB storage device that is formatted with FAT32. The router detects it and allows me to create new shares in the Storage->Disk menu and Storage->Media Server menu - so I know it can read the device and see the folders. Strangely if I click "Scan All" in the Media Server, it finishes very quickly and never updates the "Last scanning time" field. There was a brief moment when the router showed up in the Network->Computer section of File Explorer, but I can't get it to show here again.

My temporary solution will be creating the DHCP pool with option 43 and 60 in the access switch and it work ok, new AP's able to show in the WLC. View 9 Replies View RelatedI just bought this router used and in working condition. I dl'd the install file from here and followed all the directions. When it gets to the plug router into wall portion, it just sits there and eventually says its hooked up wrong. However the wifi is already working (checked by logging into my kindle fire) as well as my second port which is hooked to my ps3. However my 1st port which is connected to the pc does nothing. I have swapped the cables with no luck. So I cant figure out why there is no communication between the router and my pc.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have 10 new AIR-CAP3502I-A-K9 connected to a WS-C3750X-48PF-L switch. 8 of the APs power on and connect perfectly, but two are problematic. Both devices are granted power, but they never go past the stage of getting power from the switch. A look at POE shows: [code]
Where the AP that is not working is connected to Gi1/0/4. The interface shows down/down. I've tried shutting the interface, removing power, cdp etc.
Are there any other tricks you can think of to get it working or would you say that it's 2 faulty APs? I am not based at site unfortunately so I cannot console to the APs and check them out.
SG 300-10 user manual states to not mount the switch on either side (I'm assuming this means the right or left ends as you face the front) and that they can be mounted either face-up or face down or flat). The specs further say that a 5" space must be "around all sides" of the unit. Silly question is what does "all sides of the unit' really mean? (of course given you must mount is somewhere). Also, given the little feet supplied with the unit, it is implicit to me the bottom needs to be only about 1/32" from the horizontal surface it is placed on. If this is true, can this unit be mounted face down on a shelf such as the Leviton 47612-UBK (it's allowing the mounted units to have airflow between the unit and the cabinet back) and have a second SG 300-10 mounted in front of the first that is seperated from the first by either the dual feet or use separation spacers that will fill the available shelf space and maximize the distance between the units - all without degrading the inherent reliability of either?
Lastly, The two SG 300-10's are reaching the internet through a LINKSYS E4200 router. Is it better to have each SG 300-10 occupying its own dedicated port on the router OR to cascade one SG 300-10 to the other SG 300-10 then one of the LINKSYS E4200 router? If the answer is each occupying their own dedicated LINKSYS port, then would it be prudent to load one SG 300-10 with the most active ethernet lines to allow the other SG 300's port power management to shut it down?
i want to know, is c3650G or c3650X switches are already containing rack mounting pack or am i need to buy it seperatly?
