View 8 RepliesI have a couple of 1040N autonomous APs want to convert to light weight APs.
View 8 RepliesI need your expertise regarding how to convert from autonomous to LWAPP using AIR-SAP2602i-s-k9 with IOS version of ap3g2-k9w7-xx.152.-2.JA.
I'm following these commands but it is not available
debug capwap console cli or debug lwapp console cli
I cannot proceed to convert it Did I miss something or the 2600 series doesn't support LWAPP convertion ?
I was trying to upgrade the IOS image of the AP and I did a wrong manip.
I downloaded the IOS image (ap801-rcvk9w8-tar.124-10b.JA3.tar) from my TFTP server to the flash of the AP. Everything went find so far. But than I did an archive archive download-sw /overwrite ap801-rcvk9w8-tar.124-10b.JA3.tar and my AP reboot in LWAPP mode.
I should have done: archive download-sw /overwrite tftp://10.0.0.1/ ap801-rcvk9w8-tar.124-10b.JA3.tar instead!
Now I don't how to go back to autonomous mode. archive commando is not available anymore in LWAPP mode.
is this possible, i need to convert a 1242AG Autonomous back and forth this weekend to use for a quick project for testing. i need to do: take the AP into LWAPP mode (i know how to do this with the aironet utility) take the ap from LWAPP back into a AP mode so i can use it as my access point again. [code]
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am not having much luck getting it converted via normal ways.
It times outs on TFTP server when you hold the mode button (a 3500 is working fine doing the same thing).
I try the old school way of archive download-sw but it isn't fast enough before it re-dhcp's because it can't find a controller. "*Mar 1 01:17:51.123: %CAPWAP-3-DHCP_RENEW: Could not discover WLC using DHCP IP. Renewing DHCP IP..' Even if I set a static IP address.
Is there way to disable the join process while I upgrade the software? I guess fire up a controller for it to join. I hope I don't have to have a controller to convert these.
I have an AIR-LAP1142 that I'm trying to load the autonomous software onto. I reset the AP with the mode button held down as per instructions. When I release, it attempts to download c1140-k9w7-tar.default from my pc running tftpd62. Several connections are made and then it eventually times out. I tried another machine (also win7 x64) and it fails there too exactly the same.
TFTP logs show:
Connection received from 10.0.0.1 on port 1024 [18/05 17:22:04.269]
Read request for file <c1140-k9w7-tar.default>. Mode octet [18/05 17:22:04.270]

I have a problem converting 2602 from lightweight to autonomous. It will not boot to the autonomous IOS. The procedure below is waht I did.
ap: set IP_ADDR 10.0.0.1
ap: set NETMASK 255.255.255.0
ap: tftp_init

Is the process for converting 1260 APs to lightweight mode any different from converting 1140s or 1250s? I've converted several APs to LWAP mode but this is my first 1260. Four 1260s need to be converted.I have one in a remote location that seems to be comatose. Here are the steps I took to convert the AP. Did skip/miss a step?
1. uploaded code to the AP ap3g1-rcvk9w8-tar.152-2.JB.tar
2. configured the AP for DHCP. It successfully leased a DHCP address. Controller information is provided via DHCP Option 43.
3. saved the configuration
4. verified the code, successful
5. disabled wireless radios
6. installed the lightweight code using the command archive download-sw /safe flash:/ap3g1-rcvk9w8-tar.152-2.JB.tar.The installation was successful
7. rebooted the AP
After that nothing. The AP has not leased another IP address. The switchport is active. The APs MAC address is registering in the switches MAC address table. The AP is receiveing PoE from the switch. I noticed that this AP is only receiving 6.2W of power where the three are getting anywhere between 8.8W and 9.3W. I am unable to ping the old static IP of the AP too.
I would like to downgrade Cisco Aironet 1142N to autonomous. But I would like to know is there any way to download the LWAPP IOS before upload the Autonomous IOS ? because I want to upgrade the 1142N from autonomous to LWAPP when I buy a LAN Controller.
Is that possible to use that backedup LWAPP IOS when I want to upgrade the Cisco Aironet 1142N autonomous to LWAPP?
I need to upgrade several 1252s from autonomous to LWAPP. I have not been able to find the upgrade tool for 1250s or instructions for CLI upgrade. I wil be using NCS to do final configuration once the APs come online.

View 1 Replies View Relatedupgraded my home AP from Autonomous to Lwapp. I was an Idiot and thought i was getting an IOS upgrade. I need to revert it back to autonomous and a simple "mode" button reset doesnt work. I read that I need to Reload original IOS software, but It appears I cant get it without a support contract. I cant afford servicenet and need to obtain old ios to revert to factory default 12.4(10b)JA1. Do I need a contract to roll back? Is there an archive (backup image) of the old IOS that could be still stored on the device. I didnt back it up and need to obtain the image.

View 7 Replies View Relatedwe have 1262 (AIR-LAP1262N-E-K9) and we dont have WLC..and i want to convert it to Autonomous mode..i did the below steps... with using this file (ap3g1-k9w7-tar.152-2.JB.tar) download it from Cisco site. Step 1 The static IP address of the PC on which your TFTP server software runs should be between 10.0.0.2 and 10.0.0.30. Step 2 Make sure that the PC contains the access point image file (such as c1200-k9w7-tar.122-15.JA.tar for a 1200 series access point) in the TFTP server folder and that the TFTP server is activated. Step 3 Set the timeout value on the TFTP server to 30 seconds. Step 4 On the PC where the TFTP server is located, perform these steps.

I am trying to upgrade an autonomous IOS 1242 AP to LWAPP and I am having an issue with finding the right code to complete the upgrade. I have upgraded the AP to c1240-rcvk9w8-tar.124-21a.ja2.tar, but now I think I need a JX version of code to have it join a controller, and I can't find this anywhere on the Cisco site.

View 31 Replies View RelatedWe are connecting a cisco router (819) to wireless lan network (lwapp) through its wireless interface.
clients ---> 819 ---->AP (WGB) ------ lwapp ----- AP ---> LAN ---> servers.
since the clients are on the same subnet as the the VLAN on the lwapp, everything works great. When we add a new L3 VLAN on the 819 router, and we try to ping the clients from the servers, the packets can reach the clients but never received by the servers back. it seems like the bridge is dropping the packets when they go back from the client to the servers.when we use a GRE tunnel from the 819 to the LAN, everything works great.
I need raise a especial configuration to 34 APs LWAPP associated to WLC 5508 with IOS 7.0.220
This is the Scenario:We have 34 APs LWAPP with 2 SSID (Corporative & Guest), with 2 DHCP different. The Guest SSID receive IP to DHCP from WLC while SSID Corporative receive IP from Microsoft DHCP. The AP On Site are Local and the Foreign AP are configured like H-REAP (H-REAP Local switching and Learn Client IP Address are marked)
Here is the thing, I need configure a new WLAN (Pruebas) for add to 34 APs (Local and Foreign) but this new WLAN must be receive IP from a New Microsoft DHCP
Firstly I configured a new Physical interface and linked to New WLAN (Pruebas) however i don't know how configure the AP and the DHCP because I want that the AP deliver IP addresses depending the Locality. The last because the SuperScope from DHCP is divided in various subnets and because the IP from the AP will be in another VLAN
