I want to PAT my project of WLAN and i attached the document, how I create the Testing Criteria of the said scenarios, PAT document includes WCS 7.0, WLC 5508, MSE 3310, Cisco AP 3502e and ACS 4.2.

AIR-ANT2460NP-R
Azimuth 3dB Beamwidth
#80 degrees
#Elevations 3dB Beamwidth

My question is, when i try to position this new APs on a certain map, what should i put on the Azimuth and Elevation degrees parameter? The degrees that comes in the product data sheet above, or it depends on how the antennas are installed?.
I am still new to wireless. I have been studing for my CCNA Wireless for about 6 months now so I still have a lot of questions.
Right now I have to deploy some new APs. We are using 3502e APs. I have a qustion on how to mount antennas for these access points. I have to make a mounting bracket the new installations. What was done with the previous APs was to mount a unistrut beam to an I beam in the building. There is 2 AIR-ANT-1728's and 2 AIR-ANT-5160V-R antennas mounted straight out on the unistrut. Then they put a T bracket on the unistrut and mounted a second bar 90 degrees from the main bar and connected the third 1728 and 5160 antennas on the second mounting bracket. So we have 4 antennas in a row, and two off to the side 90 degrees from the other 4 antennas.
My question, is this OK to have them this way, or would it be better to have all 6 antennas in a straight line when I fabricate my new AP brackets?

The 3502e has 3 antenna terminals for each band. Is the order of connection to the antenna pigtails significant? The antenna pigtails are not marked ABC (just blue boots for 5GHz.)

View 11 Replies View RelatedThe 3502e has 6 antenna connections, 3 for each band, 5GHz band is marked in blue. The antenna pigtails are only marked with the matching color - 3 blues or 3 blacks. No A,B or C. Does it matter which pigtail goes to which of the 3 terminals so long as the band is correct?

View 4 Replies View RelatedA few months ago we upgraded our warehouse from 1242 APs to 3502E APs. We changed 16 units, all in the same building. When we came in the next day we found out that they were all on channel 1 at their lowest power level. The WLC was set for auto negotiate for power and channel but for some reason it did not work. We had successfully changed they rest of the factory with the auto feature enabled but for some reason, the warehouse did not work properly. All APs have the same IOS and are they same model. We have WiSMs mounted in a 6509 chassis as our WLC.

Question re: DIR-655; Hardware ver A4; Firmware version 1.32NA
During bandwidth tests to several sites (principally speedtest.net) I get ping times of 10-11 ms, download speeds of 12+ to 17+ mbps but failure on upload tests using my DIR-655.
When I bypass the 655 and test directly with my cable modem, all (including upload) tests work reliably and consistently.
I have swapped the two ethernet cables involved as well as replacing both with new cables but the results are the same (uploads fail with 655 and work without it)
I have seen several postings over the the last year with this same problem but have never seen any comment from D-Link, or a solution from any reader.
Not that it should have any bearing, but I have TA785GE-128M motherboard and am running Windows 7 (patch current) on COMCAST
is this problem acknowledged by D-Link and is there a solution?

I would prefer to connect the WLC Guest port to an ASA 5510 and the WLC Staff port to an internal 2960S switch. Will this work? I haven't setup a 2500 series controller previously.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two WLCs (5508 - v7.0.220 and 2106 - v7.0.116) that were NMSP connected to a MSE (v7.0.201.204) according to WCS (7.0.172.0)The MSE reloaded (Actually a reload command from WCS hung the MSE and it hard to be hard rebooted) and I ran into a NTP issue with the MSE running GMT timezone and WLCs running GMT -8. This was highlighted by the NMSP status testing tool. As a quick solution I changed both WLCs to GMT. The tool now tests all green, but the NMSP status remains Inactive for both WLCs and I have no client or tag information flowing into WCS.

(Incidentally, PortForward.com gives me a blank page when I try to look up how to do this.) However, when I test the port is indeed open ( Open Port Check Tool - Test Port Forwarding on Your Router ), it returns as closed. Yes, I'm running the server software while I run the test. I only have the Windows Firewall, but I ran attempts while the firewall was completely disabled as well as with just the appropriate programs allowed.
