The problem is WiSM module not coming in OPER-UP status , it’s in Started-Keepalive status.I did run debug wism events on cat6509 and seeing below logs:

It’s receiving garp request from controller and assign ip to controller but then keepalive time expired and it’s put the controller in started-keeplaive status.
We have installed a number of Cisco Wireless 3502-07 in China and i can not get the Clean Air Oper status to change to UP. At the meoment i have ERROR. I have have tried to disable and enable the the Clean Admin Status from the Access Point 802.11b/g/n and then select the AP and change configuration.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe just recently purchased a 3945 ISR G2 router and have a SRE-910 module (with two hard drives) configured in a Raid 1. We are running a stand-alone version of ESXi on the service module and I'm trying to figure out how to monitor the status of the Raid on the drives (along with other health issues). SNMP has revealed nothing so far and even opening a support case for which MIB's to use has proved fruitless. All the documents I find on monitoring the modules say to use LMS which is now Cisco Prime. I've downloaded the trial copy, put in the SNMP settings and scanned the router. I get device results and it shows that I have the SRE-910 module installed, but I get no other configuration / device informaiton from the module itself.
I tried to create a new Monitoring template using the NAM health as the base template (which I'm assuming this is the correct template). Unfortunately, when I actually try to deploy the template against the discovered router, I get an 'Unexpected end of list' error which makes me assume I'm still doing something wrong.

We have two 6509 switches with one WS-X6704-10GE module in each of them. There is an optical cable between the two switches plugged in WS-X6704-10GE module on both sides. When you shut down the port on one side the other port still stays as up and you need phisycally to unplug the cable to have it down. The same behaviour is seen no matter on which of the two switches you shut down the port, the opposite one always stays as up and only removal of the cable makes it go down.
The ports are configured quite simply:

i noticed that the 1242AG does not bring up the Radios, when there is a Power Injector connected.I see in the Logs of the AP:

The Module in the 6500 is a WS-X6348-RJ-45 The Option "Power Injector installed" on the WLC is also enabled, with the MAC Address from the Switchport, but no change.When i disable CDP on the mentioned Switch Port and reload the AP, it comes up and runs fine.
I currently have 2 Cat6509 switches with VSS Capable Sups. One of the switches has an extra 10Gig Lincard. Will VSS still work in this scenerio?/?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI will be adding two WS-X6716-10GE cards in a CAT6509 soon, and will create 4 port channels with 3 ports each in the new cards, but I do have a few questions:
1 - I will be adding cards in slots 3 and 8, can I mix and bundle ports from both modules into a single etherchannel, I mean, like two ports in slot 3 and 1 port in slot 8 to create a PortChannel ?! Or can I only bundle ports in the same card/port-group in a Etherchannel using this WS-X6716-10GE card?
2 - Do I need to issue the hw-module slot x oversubscription port-group y command in order to be able to bundle ports in the Etherchannel I need to create ?! I will be using 4 Etherchannels (LACP) with 3 ports each, running in trunk mode. So I guess, I will be using something like:

However, if I look in the config the export bit isnt there after?

I want to set up FWSM 4.1 on Cat6509 with multiple bridge groups in one transparent context. (as the manual says it can support up to 8 bridge-groups and the intent is to save security contexts) For a host in VLAN21 (b1_inside) to talk to a host in VLAN41 (b2_inside), traffic needs to be go out to MSFC which routed back the traffic through the FWSM. My question is how can I define a default route per bridge-group, I would assume FWSM should take the following two default routes per bridge-group interface but it won't;
route b1_outside 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.11.75.1 1
route b2_outside 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.11.76.1 1
seems like it allows only one default route per the context and gives me an error - "ERROR: Cannot add route entry, possible conflict with existing route"
How can I achieve outside per individual bridge-group?

View 4 Replies View RelatedWe have Cisco WiSM modules on our 6500 switch. I tried to register a 1142 access point to the WiSM. Is there any difference in the way an AP registers and appears on the WiSM as compared to the Wireless Lan controller?
I could see the AP get an ip from dhcp pool ( configured on the switch ) and Ap was visible on the cdp neighbor of switch.
However, i could not locate the new AP on the WiSM module. Do i need to add MAC address to the WiSM as same as WLC.
I have a facility, where all the access points almost 250 of them are connected to two WisM's (One in each core switch ) . They are running in 6.0.199 firmware . These two WisM's are managed by WCS , which is running 6.0.188.
As i need to add more access points and to make fully redundant , 5500 controller was ordered and it has with firmware 7.0 installed. Couple of queries related with it .
1. Can 5500 be added in the WLC group, so that existing Access Points can be configured to use primary controller as 5500 and secondary / tertiary controller as WISM ?
2. Will 5500 be able to be detected by WCS , as the version of 5500 is 7.0 and WCS version is 6.0.188 ?
3. As WCS was already deployed and live, is it possible to upgrade, if the client has support contract like SUSA ?

Upon investigation, Status of controller is shown as "Oper-Up" for all controllers on Supervisory engine. Hardware platform is Cisco 6509-E.

Problem is fixed when I reboot the problematic Controller. However, this problem re-appears after some time. I am not able to figure out why controller is not able to ping its default-gateway which is an SVI interface on Supervisory card on the same chassis, and showing status UP/UP. Is it a software bug or backplane fault or any other reason ?
We have a WISM in a 6509. The 6509 lost power (the UPS failed) and upon reboot the WISM isn't allowing AP's to connect. The WISM is blade 4. Upon consoling in, I get this error message for all 8 ports: 42w6d: %EC-SP-5-CANNOT_BUNDLE2: Gi4/1 is not compatible with Po407 and will be suspended (trunk mode of Gi4/1 is dynamic, Po407 is trunk)

View 1 Replies View RelatedSetting up a multi floor WLAN using a 6500 WISM Controller. Each floor has an AP group with the floor WAPs assigned. Each floor has a VLAN and the WLC has an interface configured. Each floor has a WLAN configured with the same SSID and the only change is the interface on the WLAN per floor.DHCP is remote on AD servers and each floor as a scope configured.Each floor works fine - we can get connected and get assigned to correct IP address. The issue we had with this setup was moving between floors. When we move up a floor the client loses connection to the inital floor (coverage - as expected). if we disconnect and reconnect it connects to the new floor SSID and gets an IP from DHCP.When looking into this - I then created an interface group and added all the floor interfaces into the group. I then applied the interface group to each floor WLAN and did soem testing - it worked as expected. I could now move between floors.The issue with this is though. When I was testing I already had an IP address assigned from DHCP - before I changed to interface groups. The issue is that the intial DHCP assignment no longer works and we cant connect to the WLAN anymore,

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been having some issues trying to stand up an older WiSM that has been incorrectly configured by my predecesssor and has a bad Mgt IP so I am unable to telnet or SSH into it, nor can I console or session into it.
What I would like to do is to change the Mgt address for the WiSM controllers (1 and 2) by way of the Sup (not sure that is possible) because as it stands they are set to 169.254.1.1 and are unreachable even when directly consoled into them.
