The power is working, i went on device manager and there isn't any yellow flag next to it , when i clicked on the dlink software , it said wireless adapter not found.How do i make it recognised
View 2 RepliesI have recently purchased an HP Photosmart 5510 all in one printer and I have successfully printed from my laptop computer - no issues and everything is fine.However my own main house desktop computer is a different matter all together. For some reason this computer will not recognize the printer at all, but does show it in the devices and printers page.When I use the "cmd" screen and ping the printer IP address it is all OK - sends and receives 4 packets.When I enter the IP address in my browser it will not show anything. I can connect to the internet fine on this computer and do wirelessly through a netgear dongle.I am running Windows 7 64 bit on both machines. I have tried disabling avast and windows firewall - all with no joy. My guess is the issue is with the PC and some piece of software is stopping the communication.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using Dell Vostro-1320 laptop with Windows XP. It was running good. Recently I have installed the McAfee Internet Security software. But now I do not have internet access through this laptop although the network icon shows "connected". I have tried all the advice/solutions for such type of problem by doing Firewall off/on and changing adapter & network setting. I also updated all the drivers. But nothing works. It is notable that my other desktop is working properly in spite of installing this software.

To get a connection I have to go into Control Panel, open Device Manager, click on Network adapters, which opens Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. I uninstall the Controller, restart and I then get an Internet connection. The Realtek controller then re-installs itself. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium operating system on my desktop. I am wired through a Dynalink RTA 1320 Rev 2 ADSL2+ Modem Router (provided and checked by my ISP). I have a Netgear Wireless N Router WNR 2000 for wireless connection to my laptop which has a Vista operating system. I have no connectivity problems to the laptop. I have had the connections checked by my ISP and the Netgear router by Netgear. They have both confirmed that there is connectivity to the desk top and the laptop and that the connections are working. Both have said that there is an issue with the operating system. I have got all the latest drivers installed and I get the message "Best driver software for your device is already installed".

The installation and configuration went fine and windows shows full bars of signal. However, when i ran a speedtest i noticed it was slow as %&/(. The download speed was 0.50Mbps, but on my laptop and with the old Wlan thingie my speed was 7.00 Mbps.
I have tried changing the WLAN channel three times. I have set my wireless to 802.11g only mode, and i have changed the USB port once. The packaging says that the thing has wireless data rate up to 75MB at 20Mhz channel, and 50m range in an office environment. The router is approximately 5 meters from the computer and there is one wall in the way.
Is there something i can do or was my first mistake purchasing a USB Wlan adapter?

The computer is running Windows XP Professional. I downloaded the driver from Dlink's web site and unzipped the files on the computer.The Ethernet Controller shows up in Device Manager with the yellow ? so I right click it and the click on Update Drivers. But when I tell it to install the drivers a window comes up saying it cannot install because it cannot find the necessary software.

After various uninstalls and reinstalls of the drivers and programs that come with it, I have found currently the best way to get it to work is leave the D-Link programs uninstalled and have Windows install the driver itself.The problem is, it doesn't seem to keep the drivers on restarting, so every time the computer is restarted, it must be installed again. This is not ideal.It occasionally worked when I installed from the CD, but the D-Link programs that would install with the drivers created problems of their own.

I have the integrated adapter disabled in the control panel. Just bought a D-Link DWA-140 Rangebooster N wireless adapter. This finds all the networks my older USN adapter finds but at greater strength. When I click on connect to my own network I get the enter network key box. I enter the correct key, but get an error message telling it's incorrect. I revert to the older adapter or enable the integrated adapter and I get connected automatically.

I called tech support and he said that my motherboard must not be compatible with the card. I don't think this is the case but it was the only advice he could give me. I have an MSI P67A-G45 board. It just so happened that i turned on my computer and even though the wifi connections were available, when trying to connect this message keeps showing up " Windows was unable to connect to UoC WiFi". I have tried everything from making a new wifi connection to changing usb-ports
FYI I use the same wifi connection on my netbook and android, and they are working fine, so it's definitely not a problem with the ISP.

Recently I bought a TP-Link WN822N and I had recently had this annoying problem with my adapter suddenly it disconnects but it mostly happens when I'm gaming so I'm clueless what the problem is. I tried to change the channels in my router in case it was any interference but no luck there. I also checked if it was just my "internet" but the internet went smooth. Also I did watch over the connection and it did suddenly change name to another one. It was the same network but it change to NetworkProfile, ain't sure if that's the problem though. I also tried to install a new driver over and over but no solution. My old adapter was just fine and there was no disconnects there before I got an upgrade which didn't seem to be good investment because of the disconnects. The disconnects can happen between 10-20 minutes before it occurs.

I have a DLINK DIR-615 wireless n router and recently bought the wireless n network adapter for the xbox 360.When I put my router to mixed mode n,b,g the xbox connects fine to the router.As soon as I switch the router to n only mode the xbox cant connect to the wireless network.My laptop which is also wireless n connects fine on wireless n.It sees the network but cant connect to it.btw. I have switched all security off on the wireless to try and test this.

The adapter is working excellent but when I added the adapter, my old SSID (Dlink) got switched to Dlinkelb7. Dlinkelb7 has full bars when the old Dlink only comes up so often with one bar. Since the switch of Dlink to Dlinkelb7 my xbox 360 adapter has a very hard time connecting to Dlink and it will not connect to Dlinkelb7 because it needs a passphrase. My router is also Dlink Model DIR-615.
