I like to create a access point and thinking to buy the Engenius ECB300 or the cheaper ZyXel WAP3205.
I cannot find anything about the power output of the ZyXel WAP3205 so I'm not sure what do buy.
I have this old router and I can't get into the setup. I tried all common passwords and it still won't log me in to the setup screen. The router is an EnGenius NL-5354AP Aries.

I have a Single Board Computer (SBC) running Linux that has an 'wireless access point' connected to one of it's Ethernet ports. I want to be able to transfer data between the laptop and the SBC wirelessly (cabling is not an option)
The 'wireless access point' I am using is the EnGenius EOC5611P - it can be configured for:
1. Access Point
2. Client Bridge
3. WDS Bridge
4. Client Router
I don't know which one of these I need,so working that out would be a good start!
I just got a wireless repeater (Engenius ERN 9250) to use in my house, and I'm having issues after setting it up. I set it up using the WPS function with my router (netgear n600), and even if I connected to the repeater my internet would not work. I could access the repeaters admin page wirelessly, and I could ping it (192.168.1.2) just fine. However, if I tried to ping the router it would not work. I made sure that the repeater was connected to my router through the admin page, and I made sure to set the default gateway on the repeater to 192.168.1.1.

To remedy this issue, I purchased two EnGenius EAG-2408 external antenna's.My question is how to calculate how high to mount the antenna. A formula is preferable because I do not know the exact distance off hand and I will have to go out there and measure. I am estimating approximately 75 to 100 yards for the distance. Its flat, with a few trees/brush.

I'm trying to install an Engenius EAP9550, configured as a wireless repeater. the instructions are beyond abominable (as the review on Amazon warned). They tell me to enter 192.168.1.1 (which is my linksys E2000 wireless routers address, though they say nothing about that) and tehn give me no other information on how to configure or set this up.

The supplied router is a UltraLine Series 3 9100EM Router, and the wire less adapter model is a EnGenius EUB9801. The signal is fine with every other wireless device inside my place.

I have an EnGenius EOC5611P (500mW) Repeater set up in my RV and it connects directly to the PC inside my RV using, a CAT 5 connection. I am now using a laptop and would like to connect to the EOC5611P using wireless. "Can I re-configure the WRT54G2 to connect the 5611?" (I would plug the router directly into the 5611). According to EnGenius support, it is possible, but the router would have to be re-configured, but they do not support this setup. I have just got a ZyXEL P660HN-TxA router/modem on my home landline to use for wifi with my smartphone. The problem I have is it won't stay connected for long. It connects quickly & browsing is fast for a few minutes, but then it just kicks me offI am still connected to the wifi, but I can't browse anything or re-connect to the internet. Sometimes I can use it for up to 10/15 minutes before it kicks me off. I have to reset the modem, or turn the wifi off then back on via my phone.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've been using ZYXEL PLA-401 v1 Homeplug adapters for years to connect various devices to my router for a "more stable" than wireless connection. This worked fine in my last house, connecting a switch in our office to the router. We've now moved and I have got some more homeplug adapters to make a few other more reliable connections.
Problem is, the new adapters can't see the old adapters on the homeplug network. They can see each other, as can the old ones. I suspect a firmware or network name mismatch - I've tried to change settings on each of them but the Zyxel utility doesn't appear to do much. I can't set the DAK names, nor can I change the network names. The firmware update utility doesn't work on Windows 7 (gives a cannot find Windows path error).

i have recently successfully configured an IPSEC VPN from a SRP541 to our Zyxel Zywall 70 (main site).
I can ping all devices on the remote Site except the Cisco-Router!I tried to disable tohefirewall and did set "Anonymous Internet Requests" to "disabled".But still no ping (and no web management) over the VPN possible.
I must admit i am totally new to Cisco devices (up to now, we used only Zyxel) - so is guess it must be something very basic i am missing.

When i start up my computer, it isn't actually that slow at first... it starts getting slow after around 10-20 minutes. I also started getting bluescreens from time to time. My downloads aren't that much slower then before, but loading internet pages is painfully slow and online games are lagging alot. This is also happening with my xbox360, so I don't think it's my computers fault. With my old modem (Telewell EA-501) I was getting around 6Mbps, but with the new one its only around 1-2Mbps. My ping is also very high (around 400ms) and I have some packet loss. My jitter is 200ms.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchased a ZyXEL 3205 to serve as a universal repeater in my house, to boost the DSL wireless signal from upstairs to downstairs. I have a 2WIRE router, and my DSL is through AT&T. The wireless works just fine (and we've been connecting multiple devices through it for over a month), but the signal is weak downstairs, so this seemed like a good cheap solution.I found several good sets of instructions on setting up the 3205 as a repeater, so while complex, that was not really a problem.
However, the 3205's status is still marked as "disassociated", which means that it won't connect to the 2WIRE. It can see the signal, and I'm telling it to connect and giving it the correct key. It also broadcasts just fine, since my wireless devices can connect to the 3205 when it is turned on. However, the 3205 refuses to actually connect to the 2WIRE for some reason. Is there a known issue with connecting? I've checked all the obvious things - they're set to be on the same wireless channel, both using the same encryption settings, and there aren't any ip conflicts happening, since the 3205 is set to an unclaimed ip in the same space.
everytime I turn on my PC it doesn't see the modem or router and won't connect to internet. I have to turn on the PC, unplug the modem and router and replug them in before it sees the internet.Any other way of doing it doesn't work. Currently, we only use cables to connect to the router because we haven't been bothered to setup wireless. However, there's a curious problem where the moment we connect more than 2 devices at a time, the router loses connection to the internet. To be precise, all LEDs are on, except wireless (d'uh) and Internet.
All involved computers run Win7.
So my ISP (Telus) recently replaced our old router with a ZyXEL VSG1432. I'm currently having a huge lag issue when my roommates laptop is connected to our network. He is connected via wireless, I'm wired. So I did some searching around and I think i can solve this by limiting his bandwidth with QoS settings. I'm getting conflicting information here though. After logging into the router there are no QoS options yet according to ZyXEL's website url...This router should have the settings available. Is it possible that Telus does something to remove this feature? Is there some not so obvious way to enable QoS? Is there some other way to limit the bandwidth?
