View 1 RepliesI have recovered some configuration files from my 2950 switches with the Configuration Archive Tool in LMS.
Now, I'd like to replace my old 2950s by 2960 switches, which have the same number of ports.
Will there be any issue if I copy the exact same config from 2950 to 2960 ? Will some features not work or is everything interoperable ? Here's an extract of the config :

i have come across this solution to dual internet connections, c2950-i6k2l2q4-mz.121-22.EA14.bin is the IOS and the router is a 2950 Dual Wan model. I don't know alot about this stuff I'll admit, but it is on the default configuration with IP 192.168.27.7 255.255.255.0, gateway at 192.168.27.8. The hostname below is something I don't know exactly what it means but my guess is its the line at the command prompt with the name.
It has VLAN1 with fa0/1-24, gi0/1 - 2.
This is the script but I don't know why its not taking the commands as at ip sla monitor 1 I get invalid command error. What do the ! mean are they comments and not entered?
I'm having some trouble configuring porting between interfaces.Here is my situation.I have a Cisco 891 router. What I need is to create 3 interfaces with the next IPs:
1. Port FastEthernet 8 - 20.40.1.1 - with a modem connected directly to it - 20.40.1.2
2. Port GigabitEthernet 0 - 193.2.5.100 - connected to a switch - LAN
3. Ports FastEthernet 0 and 1 for two VOIP phones - 190.168.5.2 and 190.168.5.3 - will be switchported to VLAN 10 - 190.168.5.1
I can send ping from a PC (193.2.5.1) to the modem interface (20.40.1.1) but not to the modem itself (20.40.1.2).I played days with configurations and tried a lot of variation of ip routing and access-lists with no success.Basically I need to comunicate freely betwin all the devices.There are a lot of forums providing solutions to a same problems but they seems not working with the 891 router. If i connected the latop to brand new out of the box ASA 5505 through consloe cable and i have a config file on this laptop from other ASA5505, is there anyway i can upload that config file into startup-config of this new ASA5505 through console cable, without using TFTP or FTP?

I have just got a ZyXEL P660HN-TxA router/modem on my home landline to use for wifi with my smartphone. The problem I have is it won't stay connected for long. It connects quickly & browsing is fast for a few minutes, but then it just kicks me offI am still connected to the wifi, but I can't browse anything or re-connect to the internet. Sometimes I can use it for up to 10/15 minutes before it kicks me off. I have to reset the modem, or turn the wifi off then back on via my phone.

I want to be able to connect the dir 655 so I can utilize the wireless piece.I have the P660 connected now and I can get on the net fine when in routing mode. View 8 Replies View RelatedI've been using ZYXEL PLA-401 v1 Homeplug adapters for years to connect various devices to my router for a "more stable" than wireless connection. This worked fine in my last house, connecting a switch in our office to the router. We've now moved and I have got some more homeplug adapters to make a few other more reliable connections.
Problem is, the new adapters can't see the old adapters on the homeplug network. They can see each other, as can the old ones. I suspect a firmware or network name mismatch - I've tried to change settings on each of them but the Zyxel utility doesn't appear to do much. I can't set the DAK names, nor can I change the network names. The firmware update utility doesn't work on Windows 7 (gives a cannot find Windows path error).

i have recently successfully configured an IPSEC VPN from a SRP541 to our Zyxel Zywall 70 (main site).
I can ping all devices on the remote Site except the Cisco-Router!I tried to disable tohefirewall and did set "Anonymous Internet Requests" to "disabled".But still no ping (and no web management) over the VPN possible.
I must admit i am totally new to Cisco devices (up to now, we used only Zyxel) - so is guess it must be something very basic i am missing.
To play one i game i need to open ports 7777 and 7778 , to do that i must access my router.When i connect to standard router ip192.168.1.1 it wont work. To solve my problem i checked the name of router and read the official support.My routers model is Speedtouch 546 v6. and at official faq the adress is given, but it still wont work, then i noticed i have second router i think, its used to connect 2 TV for my internet television, its model is Zyxel ES- 105 a , in official support , their given adress wont work.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI bought a new modem (Zyxel P-660H-D1) few weeks ago and since then my internet has been alot slower than before. When i start up my computer, it isn't actually that slow at first... it starts getting slow after around 10-20 minutes. I also started getting bluescreens from time to time. My downloads aren't that much slower then before, but loading internet pages is painfully slow and online games are lagging alot. This is also happening with my xbox360, so I don't think it's my computers fault. With my old modem (Telewell EA-501) I was getting around 6Mbps, but with the new one its only around 1-2Mbps. My ping is also very high (around 400ms) and I have some packet loss. My jitter is 200ms.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchased a ZyXEL 3205 to serve as a universal repeater in my house, to boost the DSL wireless signal from upstairs to downstairs. I have a 2WIRE router, and my DSL is through AT&T. The wireless works just fine (and we've been connecting multiple devices through it for over a month), but the signal is weak downstairs, so this seemed like a good cheap solution.I found several good sets of instructions on setting up the 3205 as a repeater, so while complex, that was not really a problem.
However, the 3205's status is still marked as "disassociated", which means that it won't connect to the 2WIRE. It can see the signal, and I'm telling it to connect and giving it the correct key. It also broadcasts just fine, since my wireless devices can connect to the 3205 when it is turned on. However, the 3205 refuses to actually connect to the 2WIRE for some reason. Is there a known issue with connecting? I've checked all the obvious things - they're set to be on the same wireless channel, both using the same encryption settings, and there aren't any ip conflicts happening, since the 3205 is set to an unclaimed ip in the same space.
I like to create a access point and thinking to buy the Engenius ECB300 or the cheaper ZyXel WAP3205.
I cannot find anything about the power output of the ZyXel WAP3205 so I'm not sure what do buy.
everytime I turn on my PC it doesn't see the modem or router and won't connect to internet. I have to turn on the PC, unplug the modem and router and replug them in before it sees the internet.Any other way of doing it doesn't work. Currently, we only use cables to connect to the router because we haven't been bothered to setup wireless. However, there's a curious problem where the moment we connect more than 2 devices at a time, the router loses connection to the internet. To be precise, all LEDs are on, except wireless (d'uh) and Internet.
All involved computers run Win7.
So my ISP (Telus) recently replaced our old router with a ZyXEL VSG1432. I'm currently having a huge lag issue when my roommates laptop is connected to our network. He is connected via wireless, I'm wired. So I did some searching around and I think i can solve this by limiting his bandwidth with QoS settings. I'm getting conflicting information here though. After logging into the router there are no QoS options yet according to ZyXEL's website url...This router should have the settings available. Is it possible that Telus does something to remove this feature? Is there some not so obvious way to enable QoS? Is there some other way to limit the bandwidth?

i have a ZyXel prestige 650H-31 Model # router and i'm not able to go on to configuration page of the router i tried 192.168.1.1 several times, even after system reboot and router reset, but of no use. I've a wire connection with desktop (RJ-45 port) not USB AND MY PPPoE lights never lit. originally when i entered the gateway 192.168.1.1 it asked me for username & password, since i didn't have the password at that time i tried to reset the router but after that when ever i entered 192.168.1.1 in the browser it never came up with the option to enter user name & password. I've checked all the wires are also connected. I tried prompt command and it showed that timed out thrice and then sent= 4 received= 0 lost= 100%. I had D-Link router prior to it and later connected the D-Link router an i was able to get connected to net and browse normally.
