I have Comcast cable internet and a wireless router. It has been working fine for months. Today, I can connect to the network but it says "No Internet connection." I have tried restarting the modem, router, and my computer. The strange thing is that the connection lights on the modem and router are lit as usual. Right now the router "internet" light is showing some kind of activity.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am able to connect to firefox internet but when I try to log in to my Yahoo Messenger or iTunes store it tells me that my internet connection timed out. I try to connect to Internet Explorer and it will not connect to the web there. I have went into the tools box in Internet Explorer and clicked on internet option and than connection and I was going to try to change the proxy server LAN and when I would go into it to change that I would be able to find the address to put in but can not figure out what the port section is. I am using a wireless connection and it shows that i have connection even when I try the troubleshooting section that checks the connection and it tells me that there is no problem with it. I also tried restarting my wireless router and than restarting my computer which did not work.
Than I tried disconnecting and reconnecting to internet and still nothing. When I would login to my Yahoo Messenger and pushed the troubleshooter bottom it says, "We are not able to make a connection to the Internet. One of the following may be true: You're not connection to the Internet. Check cables, modems, routers, etc; Your Windows Internet options including the Windows Firewall settings are incorrect.; There is a problem with your Windows network settings, for example, the DNS settings in your Internet Protocol (IP) settings are incorrect or the DNS server is specified incorrectly or is not responding.; For more information, check the Windows online help and search for terms like "DNS" or "Firewall."

I use my phone as a modem with PdaNet for my computer to have an internet connection. I play Xbox Live with it all the time, but recently when I try to share the connection, it says Error 765 : Cannot Enable Shared Access".
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am currently on Time Warner Cable 10 mbps packge, and am using their wireless DOCIS3 modem/router. It is connected in my bedroom to the main computer. That computer stays connected. However, throughout the rest of the house (we have a two story townhome) it will drop completely or give limited connection...constantly. Sometimes I can have my laptop next to me and it will go out or give limited connection. The connection speed never drops, it just goes completely to no connection. Not for sure what is going on, if its on my end or time warner. Has been doing this for quite some time, the cable company comes out and changes the modem, but that's it, couple days later, goes back to doing it again.

I use an Edimax 11n usb wireless lan utility to connect to my router. It gets 60% signal strength and 100% link quality. Either i get disconnected, limited access or no internet access statuses every other hour or not at all. Its intermittent which makes it impossible to explain to the internet provider. The main error that comes up when windows diagnoses is "DNS connection error". Now the internet provider has shown me how to manually set the router to use specific DNS's and that still did nothing.

I should also mention that my Xbox 360 won't connect either, but both of my friend's laptops as well as my phone do connect to our internet. View 6 Replies View RelatedI have 3 laptops running through a wireless lan. All laptops connect to the router, and 2 of them connect through to the internet. One of them will not connect to the internet. I have tried using an ethernet cable connection, and this did not work either. The more worrying thing for me (not being so computer literate) is that I could not even get a response when I pinged the modem when it was connected with a cable to the PC. The network sharing centre says that I have a default gateway access issue or that "wireless network connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration, I have lost the ability to print with wifi and my Sonos system now no longer connects. I also get a media disconnected message when I do an ipconfig.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have two computers that both have wireless and ethernet cards. When they are btoh wirelessly connected to my router everything works fine. However, the speeds are horrendously slow. So I want to be able to connect the two of them with an ethernet chord.
I set it up so the computer with the better wireless, I'll call it PC2, is sharing its connection and I have the wireless on the other computer, PC1, turned off. I can freely access the internet on both computers with no problem.
This happens on both computers: I goto the Networking page and the other computer shows up. I double click it and I get the 0x80070035 error. Both computers can ping each other, but nether can ping the others host name. So I can ping 192.168.137.1, but not \PC2. No firewalls are running. If I turn the wireless on PC1 back on, it works again, but with the horrible low speed.

View 17 Replies View RelatedI had been working on our client servers through Cisco VPN using internet datacard. But from past 3 weeks after logging into Cisco VPN using my username/password, when I try to connect to any of the servers, it is giving connection timed out error.
Whereas, my team members across other locations are able to connect to the servers using my VPN username/password.
I thought there might be some issue with my laptop or internet datacard. I got my laptop formatted, even tried out with fresh new laptops & new internet datacards, but the issue remains same.
I have tried using vpn_5.0.06.0160-k9 & vpnclient-5.0.05.0290-k9 to connect but issue did not get resolved.
Ok starting about an hour ago I seem to be having a problem accessing youtube as well as Facebook & now Microsoft?I have done some searching around and tried a few of the suggestions I found including; trying another browser (happens using both Mozilla and IE), clearing internet cache, unplugging my modem for a minute then plugging it back in, etc, and so far none of these have worked. I did get youtube to work once since then long enough to upload a 10 sec video but once it was uploaded and I tried editing the video details I once again found myself taken to the page that says The connection was reset.

View 1 Replies View RelatedEver since setting up this router it has been giving me problems on my laptop, connected wirelessly. At random intervals, throughout the house, an error saying "Connection was reset" comes up in firefox when browsing the web. I've tried resetting the router twice, and updating my network adapter's(Intel 465AGN) drivers. Neither of these worked. No settings on the router were modified, other than enabling the Qos engine. Signal quality isn't the problem either as it is full at all times. On my other computers, three connected through wireless and one through wired, there have been no problems at all and they perform very well.

I liked the wireless-N, so I decided to upgrade to a wireless-N notebook card and purchased a WPC100. I can always connect to the router with 100% signal strength. However, when trying to access the Internet, sometimes I can connect to websites, but I regularly get an error message that Internet Explorer cannot connect to the internet, even though the signal strength is still 100%.
Tried going back to my WPC55AG and do not get any connection error messages. Tried connecting to my router with my PSP and do not get any connection error messages. Connected to another wireless router that didn't have WPA or WEP using my WPC100 and didn't get any connection error messages..

The remote site is connected to our main site and I'm getting some weird behavior.Only 2 VLANs are currently trunked and we're experiencing some intermittent connection issues. When sites are connected via trunked port everything works on VLAN 102 and everything on VLAN 101 except there are no internet connectivity, where hosts cannot ping default gateway or proxy.Switches connected are C2960 and C3550 with configuration which was working for 5 years without any issues. BT NTUs does not report any errors and connection seems to be fine. If I interconnect sites via switchport which is on VLAN 101 (staff vlan) everything works fine except student looses the services... because VLAN 102 traffic is not forwarded across the link.

So once the power came back on, literally like 5 minutes later, I rebooted my PC and have had Wireless issues ever since. My PC is custom built with a Netgear WG311V3 PCI Wireless card in it. When I boot up, it tells me I am connectied to our wireless network, but no websites will load. I check for wireless networks but my PC tells me none are in range. I have had this issue before so I goto Network Connections and Disable Wireless Network Connection 2, my wireless card, and then when I goto Enable it I get this error: Connection Failed.

Went in to release and renew and got the following error messages:

To use these controls, close all these property sheets and then reopen this one.
I just got my internet hooked up in my new apartment yesterday, and it is not working when plugged directly into my laptop. It worked fine on the installer's laptop.A buddy of mine let me borrow his wireless rory to connect. I have DSL with a Westell 6200 modem configured to a Linksys wtr310N router. I configured "Bridge Mode" on the modem and configured the Linksys with PPPoE. When I try to log in with my laptop running XP I am connected and everything works great. I also can connect wired to my Windows 7 laptop but I can't connect using wireless. Are there any tricks to make this work on Windows 7? Do I have to set up a new Broadband connection? How does my laptop connect to my linksys router?
