When I login to Facebook on my home computer it opens and trys to read something additional (the little activity circle continues to roatate) but it never completes, it is like it is in an endless loop so my browser (IE 9) locks up and I have to use task manager to terminate. I can get into facebook on my office computer with no problem. Also my wife has the same problem on her facebook account.
My Ethernet Cable is not reading, when ever i plug in the Ethernet cable into the port into my Toshiba laptop, it doesn't read, What is the problem, My cable, Laptop or (ISP) Internet service Provider?
my latop is not reading my desktop computer router. I know the router works since i can access it on my cell phone and my son can access it on his 3DS. Is there something that need to be set up on my latop to read the router
I have recently purchased an ASUS PCE-N13 wireless adapter, and I cannot get it to work for the life of me! I have tried installing the driver from the disk, however, when I try and look it up under device manager, I go to the "Other Devices" section as instructed and it just says "Unknown Device" instead of what it is supposed to say according to the manual. I have tried installing the Ralink driver, however I don't know if that was done correctly or not. I have gone through my BIOS and enabled the PCI slots power, so it isn't that.
I'm trying to use my installed (working, clean) SD card, but on the SD management screen doesn't list it. Instead, where the SD status is it says "SD Status : Reinitialization". I'm a techie guy so I've done all the standard things you'd try: I've made sure it's pushed in all the way, that it's in the right way (it really only goes in one way), and that's it's a writable (tried it on another device). I've also upgraded the firmware (it was almost current already), reformatted the card, reset and restarted the device, etc.
I just purchased the E4200 (hardware version 1).Great router with amazing features.I plugged my WD Elements 2TB, setup my media and FTP server and everything is working fine.
My only concern is about the HD light that is always on, even when nobody is accessing it. I turned off the Auto-scan option but the HD seems to be always reading something...
When this HD was plugged on my computer the light was on during access only.Is it OK? I mean, isn't something that will decrease the HD lifespam? Is there a way to tell the E4200 to not access the HD when nobody is using it?
I am using Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5895, with Windows 7 Home Premium. My laptop has been running beautifully since I updated from Windows Vista to Windows 7 Home Premium in Fall 2009. However, today the laptop has not been connecting to the wi-fi. It could not read the Atheros wireless card built into the laptop, and the all the network settings showed was the Ethernet adapter (realtek). I tried restarting and shutting down the laptop but it still did not read the wireless card (though the wireless light on the laptop was on, indicating that the wireless is on).
Then, after 4 hours of leaving the laptop shut down, the wireless started again. However, a half hour later it was down again, with the same problems already stated. The light was on and the card was not read. During my time online, I did manage to download the driver update from Toshiba website (Atheros Wireless LAN Driver for Windows 7 (32/64). I tried to install it but I received error messages, including: I tried again but I still received this message, but with a different file: I have no Ethernet connectivity and I need to use the wi-fi.

I've connected a usb hard drive to my TD-W8968 and shared the root folder via storage sharing. When I try to copy files to the hard drive from my computer the transfer speed it about 700 Kbytes/s. When reading from the drive to the computer I get 2000 Kbytes/s.This is way below the 30000Kbytes/s that can be delivered to/from the drive when it's connected to the computer's usb. I've tried several usb drives and for all I get the same results. Is there a way to increase the read/write speeds for the usb connected devices?
I'm having some problems when upgrading the IOS of my Catalyst 3750 switch through a tftp server. I've been surfing the net and found that there seems to be a problem when the image file is larger than 16M but this is not my case.I erased the flash to be sure that there was enough memory space to upload the image but didnt work.I also tried with archive download-sw /overwrite command and using a ftp server but the problem is the always the same: [code]To make sure it was not a problem of my computer or tftp server, I tried with a different computer and with a different tftp server but the same happen. I also tried with a 3750V2 and still the same. Even when trying to backup the current IOS to my computer, I got "error writing".
Then, I have tried to do the same with a different model of switch, a WS-C3560-48PS and it works perfect.I still need to try using Xmodem but Xmodem takes ages to finalize the process.
I have a Cisco 1811 with a 4/port Serial Async/Sync (HWIC 4 A/S) and another 2 port A/S serial wic. My router seems to have a problem reading the 4/port card. I did some research and it looks like there shouldn't be a compatibility issue.
But when I telnet to the device and run a "show env temperature status" I get:
# show env temp status Temperature Value: 32 Degree Celsius Temperature State: GREEN Yellow Threshold : 51 Degree Celsius Red Threshold : 61 Degree Celsius
So I'm not sure why I am getting a "1" when using snmpget on the OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.1.3.1.3.1005 which is (ciscoEnvMonTemperatureStatusValue)??
If I run the same OID on another 3560G Router I get the correct output from snmp....
My laptop runs fine with a wireless connection (lynksys router) but when I plug in the LAN it becomes unstable and eventualy freezes all together. I have tried bypassing the router and going straight from the modem (ADSL) with the same result. I have disabled all network connections and started a new one and I managed to get a days work out of it before the problem came back. The connection seems to be ok some times as long as there are no major demands put on it (but freezes as soon as you step it up a bit) and other times it freezes before windows even loads.
We have LMS 4.1 installed. After about 10 min of being idle, the browser becomes frozen, eventually crashing it. We applied this fix for lagging hoping it would fix the issue, however it has not. We have been tracking a problem internally where the Getting Started page hangs on login. The problem is with changes to Cisco.com access. We are actively working to get those fixed, but if this is what you're seeing the workaround is as follows:
a. Open the properties file name “gs.properties” under the path NMSROOT/MDC/tomcat/webapps/cwlms/WEB-INF/classes/com/cisco/nm/gs/ui b. Update the field IS_DEFAULT_PAGE as “false” c. Clear the browser cache and login-in(Daemon restart not required)
I am on a home LAN with a high speed broadband connection, Apple TimeCapsule router, and Windows 7 laptop. Starting this morning every 1-2 minutes my Internet connection stops working. I can not load webpages, send email, etc. A yellow triangle with an exclamation point appears over the WiFi icon on the taskbar. When my Internet connection stops I can disconnect from the wireless then reconnect. That will work for another 1-2 minutes only.
I do not recall doing anything that could have caused this (obviously something caused it, but I have not been screwing with drivers or anything and it has worked fine since I bought this computer 2 months ago from Dell). I have read several threads from where people had this problem in the past, but to no avail. For instance some people had multiple firewalls in conflict with one another or needed to renew their DHCP lease, but that is not true in my case.
Here are steps that I have taken to repair the problem, but with no luck:
- Restart the computer fully, many times - Renew the DHCP lease - Run the troubleshooter - Changed my DNS servers from the ISP's to Google's - Uninstalled all OpenVPN software - Removed the stored WiFi network data from Windows then reconnect - Verified that only 1 firewall is installed - Tried it with the ethernet, which works - Tried other computers on the WLAN, which works - Ran anti-virus and anti-malware scans (no infection)
I do have a VirtualBox installation, but I have not run it in weeks. Even when I was connected for that 1-2 minute period I was unable to connect to my work OpenVPN, which is what led me to try uninstalling the VPN software, but that doesn't seem to be related.
In a previous thread I have tried to figure out why my computer kept freezing and it kind of ended with us thinking it was due to the incompability between the RAM and CPU. (thread here) Just the other day though I tried a fresh install and there were no freezes, installed all drivers etc and thats when I noticed that after connecting via Wifi the computer froze up

I am connected directly to my modem. My isp is Verizon fios. my internet randomly freezes for a couple of seconds sometimes. mostly when im in game and on ventrilo i notice it. any idea why its really frustrating when im in game cuz i freeze and come back dead.
I've got a wireless adapter for my desktop and thats what i've been using for years to connect, but now i'm am trying to get a more reliable connection by having the ethernet cable plugged in. Problem is, as soon as I plug it in the whole computer gets extreamly sluggish or sometimes freezes up completely. If I am very patient, I can very slowly do something things. If I open the browser, it probably takes a minute for it to load. Opening the control panel, the window pops-up but none of the icons will appear until it times out. And trying to use the network icons on the taskbar to get into network settings is impossible. Weird thing is as soon as I unplug it and turn the wifi back on, the PC starts responding super quick again within seconds.
I have been having a few problems with my IBM T42 Laptop for a while now. I was originally running Windows XP on this system and about 12 months ago I installed Ubuntu 9 on it to mess around a bit with the OS and have a basic, non-Microsoft laptop in the house that I could use for browing the web and IM, etc... The laptop needed a clean install anway as Windows XP was running like a dog. Originally it was dual boot but once I got happy with Ubuntu I did a clean install and everything worked reasonably well. I had a few issues with the wireless LAN adapter and compatibilty, but sorted it out following a few forums (firware updates, driver updates) and everything was great. I upgraded to the Ubuntu 10.04 OS and then started having some issues. Essentially my browser would freeze randomly. Again, I visted the forums and had no joy in sorting out the problem. I reverted the OS back to Ubuntu 9 and the problem persisted. So I gave up on it totally around 6 months ago.
Last week I fired up the laptop again and decided I would use the IBM restore utility and the disks I created a couple of years ago to put on a clean install of Windows XP and see how things went. So far I have done all the Windows XP updates (SP3, etc...), I have been to the Lenovo website and updated all drivers, firmware, BIOS, etc... every little problem I have had has been sorted with a software or firmware update which I have successfully implemented. All niggles have been sorted bar one.The only problem I have left now is very odd. Everything works fine and at reasonable speed considering the age and specs of my system. When I connect via cable to my router/modem all network and internet services work fine. I have had no issues. But when I connect via wireless, intermittently my system will completely freeze - no errors, no logs - nothing. No sounds, just frozen screen. Hard reboot is the only thing that I can do to get back online.Further investigating the issue - the freezing occurs when I click on a link to download something. I can browse anything - I have tried videos (youtube) and have no problems at all - but if I click to download a file (software upgrade pack, pdf document, Qucktime player) the system freezes up and ONLY when connected wirelessly via the inbuilt Cisco Wireless LAN adapter. [code]
I'm having a really annoying problem which is making my laptop almost unusable and a hassle to use. My wireless network adapter will suddenly get "limited connectivity", won't connect to the internet but will still get the router.Disabling and then enabling it will cause my computer to freeze, requiring a hard restart. The same with troubleshooting. The only thing which fixes this is a fresh reboot, however it then occurs again within the hour.
Samsung RV511 (i5) notebook from around 2010 4GB RAM, Intel(R)Core(TM) i5 CPU M 480@ 2.67GHz
Came with Windows 7 64bit installed, issue began on this.I installed Windows 8 64bit Pro a month ago, did not reset settings. Problem persists
It's the latest driver. I keep uninstalling the driver and installing random ones from 2006, 2011 etc however the same problem persists.

I have a DIR-600 (firmware 2.05) connected to internet and my computer. For a week or so, for some reason, there is a high number of SSDP messages on my internet cable (about 100/second). Probably a faulty equipment from the internet provider.
The problem is that this high traffic of SSDP messages cause the router to freeze, the instant I plug in the internet cable.
I have tried to block in the router firewall the address 239.255.255.250 on port 1900, but it get the error "invalid address". I have also disabled the Upnp function on the router, but without result.
How can I block these messages, so I can use my router again.
I'm experiencing some problems with a new X1000 gateway. The device works very well for 2-3 days. After that period, it seems to just freeze. I can connect to the wireless, but no IP address is leased. Wired clients keep their IP address, but can't connect to the internet. Communication between the wired clients is still possible (Ping, CIFS, LAN games,...). The DSL sync LED is lit as is the Internet LED. The management interface does not load. Doesn't matter is there has been a lot of internet traffic or virtually none. The only way to make it work again, is to cycle the power.
I've been fiddling with the different features from all off to all on, but the problem persists. I even got a replacement device, but that has the exact same problems. My ISP tells me that the Cisco and Linksys devices are fit to work on their network. I'm using a Zyxel gateway at the moment, which is absolutely fantastic, but has no wireless and useless QoS management.
I am having some problems with WRVS4400N v2.We use it just for wired network (wireless is not in use, but it is configured). As a WAN we use PPPoE. Most machines do not use DHCP.After a while (few hours to few days after power up) the router freezes and it is not accessible. I cannot ping it or access to the admin page.I have the latest firmware version (V1.00.09-ETSI)I also called service and they suggested to reset it to factory settings and reconfigure it.
