my latop is not reading my desktop computer router. I know the router works since i can access it on my cell phone and my son can access it on his 3DS. Is there something that need to be set up on my latop to read the router

My only concern is about the HD light that is always on, even when nobody is accessing it. I turned off the Auto-scan option but the HD seems to be always reading something...

I have tried installing the driver from the disk, however, when I try and look it up under device manager, I go to the "Other Devices" section as instructed and it just says "Unknown Device" instead of what it is supposed to say according to the manual. I have tried installing the Ralink driver, however I don't know if that was done correctly or not. I have gone through my BIOS and enabled the PCI slots power, so it isn't that.

Instead, where the SD status is it says "SD Status : Reinitialization". I'm a techie guy so I've done all the standard things you'd try: I've made sure it's pushed in all the way, that it's in the right way (it really only goes in one way), and that's it's a writable (tried it on another device). I've also upgraded the firmware (it was almost current already), reformatted the card, reset and restarted the device, etc.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am using Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5895, with Windows 7 Home Premium.My laptop has been running beautifully since I updated from Windows Vista to Windows 7 Home Premium in Fall 2009. However, today the laptop has not been connecting to the wi-fi. It could not read the Atheros wireless card built into the laptop, and the all the network settings showed was the Ethernet adapter (realtek). I tried restarting and shutting down the laptop but it still did not read the wireless card (though the wireless light on the laptop was on, indicating that the wireless is on).
Then, after 4 hours of leaving the laptop shut down, the wireless started again. However, a half hour later it was down again, with the same problems already stated. The light was on and the card was not read. During my time online, I did manage to download the driver update from Toshiba website (Atheros Wireless LAN Driver for Windows 7 (32/64). I tried to install it but I received error messages, including: I tried again but I still received this message, but with a different file: I have no Ethernet connectivity and I need to use the wi-fi.

I've connected a usb hard drive to my TD-W8968 and shared the root folder via storage sharing.When I try to copy files to the hard drive from my computer the transfer speed it about 700 Kbytes/s. When reading from the drive to the computer I get 2000 Kbytes/s.This is way below the 30000Kbytes/s that can be delivered to/from the drive when it's connected to the computer's usb. I've tried several usb drives and for all I get the same results.Is there a way to increase the read/write speeds for the usb connected devices?
I'm having some problems when upgrading the IOS of my Catalyst 3750 switch through a tftp server. I've been surfing the net and found that there seems to be a problem when the image file is larger than 16M but this is not my case.I erased the flash to be sure that there was enough memory space to upload the image but didnt work.I also tried with archive download-sw /overwrite command and using a ftp server but the problem is the always the same: [code]To make sure it was not a problem of my computer or tftp server, I tried with a different computer and with a different tftp server but the same happen. I also tried with a 3750V2 and still the same. Even when trying to backup the current IOS to my computer, I got "error writing".
Then, I have tried to do the same with a different model of switch, a WS-C3560-48PS and it works perfect.I still need to try using Xmodem but Xmodem takes ages to finalize the process.
I have a Cisco 1811 with a 4/port Serial Async/Sync (HWIC 4 A/S) and another 2 port A/S serial wic. My router seems to have a problem reading the 4/port card. I did some research and it looks like there shouldn't be a compatibility issue.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get the temperature reading from one of our 3560G Switches using SNMP. When I run an snmpget on the Switch it returns back to me a "1".
So when I run the following I get:
> snmpget -v1 -c public 192.168.x.xxx 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.1.3.1.3.1005
SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.9.9.13.1.3.1.3.1005 = Gauge32: 1
But when I telnet to the device and run a "show env temperature status" I get:

Temperature Value: 32 Degree Celsius
Temperature State: GREEN
Yellow Threshold : 51 Degree Celsius
Red Threshold : 61 Degree Celsius
So I'm not sure why I am getting a "1" when using snmpget on the OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.1.3.1.3.1005 which is (ciscoEnvMonTemperatureStatusValue)??
If I run the same OID on another 3560G Router I get the correct output from snmp....

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an HP 510 laptop running windows xp. Wherever i go, i am able to connect through wifi with a password except for where i live. I have had no problems connecting anywhere else. All other laptops and pc's connect through the network i cant access. I get a 'limited or no connectivity' message with details displaying either 'network did not assign a network address to the computer', 'cannot connect to the internet' or 'cannot renew ip address. I reviewed a few older posts and have tried ipconfig/release, ipconfig/renew, ipconfig/all to no avail. i also tried netsh ip reset reset.log and netsh windows catalog(or something along those lines) from the earlier post i read, still nothing. I do notice that when i go to properties the wep password always reverts to one i did not enter, and once in a great while when i re-enter it the icon will show 'connected to network, excellent signal strength' but Internet Explorer says not able to connect. I cant seem to figure out why i connect fine everywhere else, and why every other 'guest' computer connects to this network.
i connect using Intel(R) PRO/wireless 2200BG under properties>general under properties>wireless networks>association use windows to config is checked under properties>network>properties the network authentication is 'open' and data encryption is set to 'wep' while the network key reverts to something i did not enter. key provided is not checked under properties>wireless networks>authentication 'enable ieee 802.1x authentication for this network is not checked

Hooks right up to their system, no problem.However, when I get home, it will not link back up to home wifi. View 19 Replies View RelatedWe have a fairly new (about two weeks) wirless network set up in our home consisting of a Netgear modem (with wifi, which I have disabled) connected to a Belkin N wireless router. Our ISP is Optus.
My laptop (which is running Windows Vista service Pack 2) was connecting fine since we set it up until about 2 nights ago. Since then, it has had trouble connecting to the network (windows tells me it's taking longer than usual) and when it finally does, I have limited or no connectivity.The internet works fine when the laptop is connected directly to the modem, and if I unplug the wire, it stays connected to the network wirelessly for several minutes before it drops the signal.
At first I thought it was because I was using the laptop at the back of the house (with the modem and router being at the front), perhaps the signal experiencing interference, but no matter where in the house I try to connect, it has problems.I also tried updating the drivers and uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers for the adapter in the laptop, with no luck.

I have a home computer which part of the home's workgroup and I have a office laptop which is part of a domain. Both of these are connected to the home wireless router and I can ping from one to the other via IP only and not by hostname. I have to access DB which is on my home computer (workgroup) from office laptop(domain). How do I achieve this? I search the internet and found we can enable sharing by IP. But my usecase will require access to the workgroup computer using hostname from laptop.
