Feb 13, 2011I am using ASA5510 and i want to know if it is possible to redirect http traffic to an internal proxy software. I explain : PC from the LAN use a internal proxy in their IE browser but some other PC doesn't use it.They are directy connected to the Internet using the Public IP from the WAN interface ( via NAT). Can we redirected this HTTP Traffic from the WAN interface to the Proxy in the LAN ?
Http Traffic will be routed like that : PC -> WAN interface -> Proxy -> WAN interface -> Internet In fact,can we create a rule saying : All http traffic which doesn"t come from the IP Proxy must be redirected toward proxy.

Dec 23, 2011Currently I have an ASA setup as a Firewall with 1 outside interface and 2 inside interfaces. Initially, the Guest interface was setup to receive DHCP from the ASA and everything was working. I'm adding router and a server for the guest interface and what I'm trying to accomplish now is the following: ASA 5505 > Airport Extreme with a public static IP (69.xx.xx.6), handling DHCP and NAT > Mac Server as DNS Server.Right now, when I connect to my Airport Extreme with any computer, I don't have internet. I don't understand what's wrong. My DNS Server has a reserved IP address: 192.168.226.2 and it's pointing to itself and forwarding the ISP DNS servers, the Airport Extreme is handling the DNS Server IP and the ISP DNS Server IP but I can't connect to the internet from the server. Sep 21, 2012I need to configure my ASA 5520 version 7.3 firewall to translate our SMTP server residing in local LAN to use different IP address from the outside interface which is used by all other computers to access Internet. Under NAT section, I have NATted this internal SMTP server with different IP address(eg x.x.x.1) and also translated the remaining IP addresses in the LAN to the outside interface(eg x.x.x.2)
my problem is, Whenever i check the header for message coming from the smtp server it shows that, the SMTP server is also translated by using the same outside interface public ip address(i.e x.x.x.2) which is used by other client machine to access internet instead of the x.x.x.1. How I can get my SMTP server to use separate IP and avoid to be blacklisted by some domain.

May 12, 2013I have configured a Cisco ASA 5505 to allow VPN access from outside to my LAN using Cisco VPN Client software. The connection is establishing properly with the ip address from my VPNPool. From outside (on VPN connection) I can ping the interface e0/0 (outside) and the interface e0/1 (inside) of the firewall, but I cannot ping the layer 3 switch interface to which the ASA is connected ( int gi1/0/22 ip address 192.168.1.2/30 ) and I cannot ping any vlan interfaces inside my switch. Therefore, I cannot connect to any server on my internal LAN. I am available at any time if further information is needed. find attached my ASA config.

Sep 6, 2012Have our public IP address space masked on /24 at our Internet Router. The router portion of 3845 connects to Internet, while the internal switch connects to my internal network and seeds it with the public address space. The switch had a port configured no switchport (L3) with an ip address with /24 (ie 67.63.145.1 /24) this connects to internal IPS/IDS then to Firewall which NATs to internal, then packet shaper, web filter etc etc etc. I need to test my ISP speed so I need to "break in" to the link between the switch and the IPS/IDS. I figured I could configure another port on the switch on the 3845 but my problem is the port to my network is routed and is masked on entire /24. I tried to configure a port on VLAN 1 and give myself an available address in the L3 address space and this did not work (figured it would not but gave it a try)
Any way to get two ports configured to use the same subnet while one is a L3 routed port and the other is just part of that layer 3 routed network?

1. Switch 3750-X
2. VLAN 100 - ( SVI IP address 192.168.100.1 /24)
3. VLAN 200 - ( SVI IP address 192.168.200.1 /24)
4. routed port gi1/0/48 (IP address 192.168.150.1 /24). Note: this port is directly connected to a firewall ASA 5520 port IP 192.168.150.100 /24
Ip routing is enabled on the switch and inter vlan traffic is flowing ok. I can ping the routed port gi1/0/48 from any computer connected in the VLAN 100 or 200. For example computer with IP 192.168.100.25 can ping the routed port 192.168.150.1. Switch can ping firewall port 192.168.150.100 and the 'sh ip route' command shows the network 192.168.150.0 /24 as directly connected network.
any computer in the two VLANs CANNOT ping firewall ASA port 192.168.150.100 Is it because inter VLAN routing does not work with a routed port on L3 switch? I looked up fallback bridging, but it is meant for non IP traffic.The goal is I am trying to set the ASA port as an internet gateway for VLANs.

These 2 services give you ip addresses to enter for your primary and secondary dns servers.
I would like to make it so only traffic going to netlix makes use of the unblock-us.com dns servers. I know this can be done by installing dd-wrt and then using dnsmasq, but I would rather not have to go that route if can be done with native firmware.
If cannot be done 'out of the box' any other way to do without having to change firmwares?

Feb 24, 2013In our USA office we have a RV042 router and in Venezuela we have a RV082 router. We have connected a VPN tunnel (gateway-to-gateway) between both offices.
The point is: How could we redirect the internet traffic from our Venezuela office (RV082) to the USA Office (RV042) to navigate using USA public IP's?
The reason for this is that we need to use online streaming services which are only available for IP's from USA and we can't use them from the Venezuelan IP's.
We can not use the PPTP option since the equipment which will use the streaming services (like hulu, crackle, etc.) in Venezuela is a Google TV device which doesn't allow the configuration of proxy navegation or PPTP VPN connections itself. That's the reason why we need to do that through the routers.

Jun 18, 2011I have a cable modem, hub and two routers. One router is wireless and the computers on this router have an IP address of 10.1.x.x. The other is a wired router and the computers on this router have an IP address of 192.168.x.x. Computers on both networks have Internet access but can't talk to computers on the other router.What I'm wondering is instead of using 3 hardware devices (1 hub/2 routers), is there any router model that will allow me to setup two internal networks similar to what I have above. I just want to cut down on the equipment and power that I use with my current setup.

It seems like it's more of a response issue than a bandwidth issue. I would like to order a 2Mbps dedicated line from Comcast to use for DNS and VOIP traffic only, the DNS resolution times should be faster on that connection. There would be several tenants in this building using it for that purpose. The secondary purpose of this line would be for backup internet connectivity

Dec 11, 2012It's been awhile since work has thrown me a curve ball so I was about due. We've got a client that wants us to log into their secure portal, this is normally not a issue. The link they sent us to their 'portal' apparently takes us to the wrong page. Their solution to this is for us to create a DNS entry to resolve that URL to a specific IP address. We don't currently have a DNS server setup in house so I assumed this would be something done on the Sonicwall.
I asked them why I couldn't just go to the IP address instead of the URL anyway and they said it wouldn't work. Is this something that I can maybe create a NAT Policy for and have it redirect traffic to there? I know the SonicWall has a DNS tab but I've never touched it and I'm not sure what I would need to put in there anyway.

Sep 23, 2012I am hoping to have my internal data NOT sent via the router.I'm trying to figure out if data from the Windows PC to the Ubuntu PC goes via the N750 AND the router or just the N750.It should be noted that the N750 is set up as an access point with DHCP/NAT disabled. I have read that switches (and I assume this "access point") can store the MAC Addresses of computers to cut out the router, but I'm not sure how to make sure that that's happening.
